This Sephora is my go to for all my makeup needs. They have a wide array of skin and makeup products. I love the fact that there's always someone to help you when you have questions about products and need color matching. The beauty advisors are always friendly and helpful. I love the easy returns and the specials they have. My only complaint is that I wear Makeup Forever and my foundation and lip color is always out of stock and so I'll have to order it online, otherwise I highly recommend. read more

I must commend the staff here. They're much friendlier than other Sephoras I've been too. So I wanted to purchase a lipstick and they'd run out of that particular shade on their display. I immediately got the attention of one of the ladies to ask if they still had it in stock. She said she wouldn't be able to help me right away because she was helping out two other customers but that she would get someone to help me. I thought I'd be waiting a while but less than fifteen seconds later someone had approached me and assisted me. Then a few seconds later two more gals approached me even though I'd already been helped. I thought that was really cool. None of them had a certain snobbiness to them like at other places. Checkout was fast and easy. Perhaps the ladies at JCPenney Sephora in Whittier can learn a thing or two from them. I would love to shop here again. read more

Unprofessionalism at its finest when it comes to customer "care" and more you buy or show up the more hate is present. I LOVE Sephora but I DO NOT love this location. I was at this Sephora location yesterday for approximately 30 minutes and not one associate said anything. The staff walked by me several times and didn't even acknowledge me. I tried to ask one person a question, she gave me a one word answer, and then went back to looking overwhelmed. The staff should be trained on customer service skills. The only person that talked to me was the person at the cash register. I would choose another location or try a different make-up/beauty store. read more

Honestly this store is great with many options but sadly with the staff it's a hit or miss. Vanessa and Shelly were so helpful and kind when I asked for help, as I am new to make up and very much needed help. The girl at the door greeting people felt it was a burden to be helping me and whispering to other male employees. If she prefers to stay at the door of a building she should get out of the makeup business and start in the hotel business. I came here to find my wedding perfume and I just want to say Anna, Destiny, and Cynthia are sooo amazing! During the covid times, they do have to spray each and every perfume for you since testers cannot be touched by customers, but they were so patient, personable, and knowledgeable about the perfumes. Everyone has their preferences whether it is fruity, fresh, floral, woodsy, musky, ect - they listened to what I was looking for and had such good recommendations. I went into the store and walked out with a perfume I wasn't originally interested in, but because of Destiny and her recommendations, I found my wedding perfume! We went today to get color matched for a new foundation. We went first got there we had to find someone to help, when we did find 2 employees talking they put us in line to get matched. We waited an extra 15-20 minutes to get helped. Once the employee came she was not very interested in helping us and was not friendly at all. She did help but with a smile turned upside down (a frown). She also tried correcting me in color theory foundation, but was giving wrong info. The store was a mess and things missing every where. I will never return to that location to shop. read more

Seriously the worst stocked store. I understand it's a highly visited store, however you would think they would get more inventory. It's very disappointing when you can't even try on foundation because they don't even have your color for a tester. This place only gets 2 stars for me because in the past I have met some pretty nice employees that have given me great recommendations. But today this visit was pretty sad. I came with my mom, and little teenage sister who is into makeup and on top of the trends. We all looked regular with no makeup on I mean who wants to get all done up in this weather? Not one person greeted us. The store was pretty empty and I saw employees just standing around talking. We all got ignored until one girl wanted to give me a basket. I took it because I knew what I wanted to buy. Any ways I asked for a sample and the girl was nice but the girl who actually gave me the sample I guess was going to be off. Tell me why she handed me a half filled sample container and just gave it to me. With no effort to explain like how I am used to in the past by the skin care associates. It's like tf am I supposed to do with 2 dots of a sample? My sister said there was an associate that rudely told her they were out of a certain Huda Beauty lip color when she asked. I know the profiling is real because when ever I have came in, with my scrubs on. They are all up on me.. so sad. I did drop almost $400 but honestly never again. I rather go online than subject myself to this kind of discrimination from people making a little above minimum wage. Seriously what the hell is wrong with people. read more

Vanessa helped my sister and I today with several products. She was super informative and helpful with all the products. We bought primer, foundation, brow dip and eyeshadow. She showed demos of all the products and suggested a few items. I would've given the store 5 stars but the cashier we had was rude and for some reason in a rush, she didn't asked who helped us or if there was anything else we needed. This was my first time at this specific location and it was not the greatest experience. Most Sephora's are usually always packed with costumers but this place was just madness. I understand that sometimes products on display end up being tarnished due to the costumers but still most products on display here were messy, misplaced, ruined, or missing. There were so many workers, yet only one asked me if I needed any help and she even seemed to ask in a tone that was as if she was going to be forced to help me. The workers on the floor were either talking to each other, simply wandering, or standing around. The ones that were actually helpful were busy helping people and it was hard for me to get someone's help that I just ended up leaving. I wish my experience was better but I will come again some other time and see if it's different. read more

Every time I go in it's like they purposely avoid helping me or give the shortest, most stand-off answers as possible, I get it...retail is not for everyone but don't be so miserable to your customers. Rather than risk my life at the free standing Sephora on North Main, i go to the Sephora inside the JCPenny at V.Gardens.. The girls there are AMAZING! Not only are they always fun and helpful whenever i go in there, but they're always helping the other clients and making sure everyones' questions are answered.. THEY KNOW THEIR INFO!!! the store is ALWAYS clean and the testers for the brands are actually SANITARY enough to use. The girls are always ready to help you try something on, give advice, or just tell you how something looks on you. I went in to look for new skin care, and the girl who helped me actually demo'd the products from bliss that i was checking out! BTW their oxygen mask is STUPENDOUS. Everytime i pay, they make sure i've gotten everything i needed, answered any questions i had AND offer me free samples of a perfume which is MY favorite part! All in all, this Sephora may not have every product that the bigger one does, but the service is 500 times better, the store's cleaner and there's rarely a line longer then 3 people. the 5 stars are well deserved. read more

I hate going to sephora. There are some employees who are genuinely trying to help, others are just there to get paid. It's a super small store and it's always super busy. Gives me anxiety to be in there. You have to fight with people to get a look at what you're interested in. It's like waiting in line. I got a 50$ gift card and I sold it. Whenever I need something they are out of stock. And honestly they're are so many random cosmetics I don't know how to even use or care to try. It's not bad, just not for me. I might have purchased something if the samples weren't so nasty I didn't want any of it on my skin. Gross! Make up all caked up like someone went after it with fake nails on, all kinds of sediment inside jars, every single sampling station with overstuffed waste bins. While they're busy standing around not greeting people, or telling each other to keep an eye on me (that's right, I heard you, rude!), how about straightening the place up a bit? This is one of my least favorite Sephoras. On Monday 8/30 the security guy said hi when we walked in, which was nice, but none of the girls on the floor acknowledged us or asked if we needed help. I was (am) on the search for my perfect foundation and tried to color match myself, but ultimately wanted samples. I literally had 4 foundations in my hands and couldn't find anyone in the area to make me samples, so I politely asked the lady working the fragrance section. She said "I can make you THREE samples. And I recommend you just getting color matched." Um. I explained to her that I wanted a chance to wear the foundation in different lighting which is why I wanted samples instead of being color matched. The lady asked another girl to make me samples (who went ahead and made me all four samples). The security guards were constantly walking back and forth near us and I just got an overall unfriendly vibe from the employees. When I go to Sephora (or Ulta) I want to take my time and discover new products. I always buy something every time I go and I shouldn't feel unwelcome when I'm a paying customer. The one positive experience was getting my color iq. Although the color match was off, the girl who helped me was extremely nice and sweet. A different girl who checked me out, Joanne, was also pleasant. Overall, I will continue doing most of my shopping at ulta (infinitely better rewards program) and only getting the things I can't get from ulta at Sephora (kat Von D, bite beauty, Bobbi brown etc). read more

I was just in this store and I must say that I am very disappointed in the customer service. I was being flowed by the security guard and I heard one of the women talk into her microphone and say "this girl right here" I felt like I was being treated like a criminal!! I was just looking for a concealer! One time the security guard was so close to me when I turned around I screamed a little. I drove extra to come to this Sephora in Victoria gardens because I thought they had more options than the store closer to my home. I will not be coming here again, ever. I am a 20 year old girl wearing my college attire and I do not think I look suspicious at all. This visit was absolutely ridiculous! This Yelp is for Shelly working the skin care department. She was very kind, knowledgeable and assisted me with question regarding my daily skin routine. If it had not been for Shelly making me feel like a decent human being, I would have walked out the store. I was trying to purchase make up and a new perfume. But the staff, aside from Shelly made me feel like some sort of thief. Each time I grabbed a sample item, like foundation or lipstick, I immediately had a staff member behind my back asking if I needed assistance, not in a friendly manner but more like a warning to me, letting me know that they are watching me- the minute I said no, they would take a step back and hover behind me, watching me play with the item, and they would only walk away - while maintaining a close eye on me, once I put the sample item back. They did this the entire time I was in the store. When it came time to pay, two female employees watched me behind the counter until it was my turn to pay, once I reached the counter they walked away. It wasn't until I was walking out the door with my purchased items in hand where they trying to be friendly with me. I have never being profiled as a thief, well it's never been displayed this close. Sephora needs to do a better job at educating and training their staff when it comes to customer service and making the costumer feel like they can walk around each isle and look at items without feeling like a thief. read more

Sephora looks so pretty, and its website is sublime, but in-store customer service needs help! When I looked for Urban Decay eyeliner with my 19-year-old son, I tried a few sample colors, and hoped for some assistance. There were little colored stripes on my hand, and my son and I chose a color. Then, being the cautious young man that he is, he suggested that we find a sales person to get a recommendation. He and I walked around for five minutes, and no one would help. There was nothing to wipe it off. Then, I decided to get the eyeliner regardless, went to the checkout counter - where there was no line - and was ordered to go stand in line. Then, when I asked for a sample, was snootily told "No." During her one-word response, her face looked like she had eaten something distateful. My son and I were not impressed. read more
