Once every few months my husband will give in and take me on a trip to Sephora! And when he doesn't, well I just shop online and wait for my little black box to arrive, but *shhhhhh*. The VG location is my usual spot, and because of their awesome Beauty Insider rewards program my trips are typically inspired by an email with a coupon or deluxe sample suggestion. Every time I come here I am greeted immediately, and offered help. I've never had anyone be snobby to me, and I've shopped here solo, with hubby, and with my toddler trailing behind me attempting to snatch all the samples. I'm a total sample hoarder too, and make no attempt to hide it. If I want a sample I just ask, and at this location they have even made me samples of things that didn't have packaged samples available. I don't know how it is that no matter how much I spend, how many points I cash in, and how many samples I take home, everything always fits in that tiny little bag! Best time of year to shop here is Christmas season, they have the best kits and rather than buy them for others I stock up for myself!!! read more

I LOVE this place!!! I can't stress it enough how much I like it here! I can/do spend lots of time in here. They give free samples if you request them and they're very lenient on their return policy. The staff knows what they're talking about and they definitely share their knowledge with you to make you look and feel your best. Don't get me wrong I LOVE Sephora, but this store NEVER has stock of anything. If it's a new product you can guarantee it's out of stock....Looking for your shade of foundation? Yeah that's out of stock too. I'm sure it's a corporate issue, but seriously get it together Sephora. Wow just wow. I literally walked I here with the intent to splurge for my birthday. I grab a fragrance to smell and the sales associate RIPPED it out of my hand so HER customer can try it. I literally was spraying the fragrance of the test strip when she took it out of my hands. When I asked to speak with a manager, I was told no one is available for my concern..... I love this Sephora a lot. I even left a great review for them on April 2014. The staff I meet are always so friendly and really makes you feel welcome. HOWEVER, when I came in today to return some things I bought on Sephora.com I cane across Kristy. This lady was horrible and very unprofessional. I wanted to return something that a friend got me and I didn't have a receipt. So she scanned the items and my return was declined cause I have returned something without a receipt before. I completely understood and started to return my online items. While she was doing the return, she said "so you buy a lot of stuff online?" "Why don't you come to the store to by?" So I'm taking it as she is telling me to try it products in store so I don't need to bother her with my returns. Very UNPROFESSIONAL! I'm kind of surprised at so many reviews saying the sephora salespeople are snooty/fake/unhelpful. I've shopped at this location many times and no one has ever treated me that way, and believe me I'm always on the go so most days I just look straight busted bc I seriously have no time to glam up esp when I'm running errands. Sometimes the employees are a bit TOO helpful I.E they won't leave you the hell alone, but I've never been treated badly at this or any other location. Good variety of products, plenty of testers, and brands that are exclusive to sephora. I prefer online over the store bc they have way more products but the store is still pretty nice to browse and feel girlie :))) read more

Today I went in with my friend just looking around for brushes. The security guard kept on following us and getting into our personal space where is was very uncomfortable to shop. My friend and I decided to go on the other side to look at the other brushes and he followed us. The ladies that worked there kept starring. We weren't dressed fancy like how people do at victoria gardens, but We had Athletic college wear on! Also They acted like we were gonna steal. This was a very uncomfortable experience, and getting followed while you shop isn't too great. Also I drove 30 min! Just to come to this Sephora cause they always have a lot to offer. I'd give them zero stars if I could, at least 3 of the employees walked by me not one asked if I needed help, after looking for the product I was I intending on buying I wasn't sure which color I wanted to buy so finally an employee asked if I needed help and I told them yeah I wanted a color match and she went on her headset and said I needed assistance to which I waited for 15 mins for no one to come help. Walking in is like makeup heaven. So bright and beautiful and wonderful smelling. My first time here I wandered from aisle to aisle looking for something specific, I can't even remember. Not once did any of the employees make eye contact or ask if I needed help. Going in during the middle of the week it's like stay-at-home-mom central. All the employees were helping the older women. Completely catering to them. I was so irritated, I finally found what I needed, bought it and left. The second time I went, same thing, only I asked for help and some girl with the most caked on makeup face I have ever seen walked me to the sephora brand aisle and pointed out the colors that might work for me, then pointed out the applicators in case I wanted to try anything on. She acted like me asking a question annoyed her. Then she walked away. These products are pretty pricey and I expect to receive the same kind of customer service I receive in a department store. All the employees here are snobby, pretentious, not helpful at all. I don't know if it's the color of my skin or my obvious youth but when I looked around I only saw the older white women being helped. I'm not THAT young, 26, and I don't dress like a homeless person or somebody that doesn't have money to spend on makeup. It's a shame because I love Victoria Gardens and I love Sephora, but the lack of professionalism and customer service at this particular Sephora has me thinking that I won't be spending my money or wasting my time here again. read more

there was maybe ONE good, pleasant employee. other than that, this location makes me ashamed to admit i once worked at sephora. the manager is rude, and doesnt care to retain customers, or to provide service, and it clearly trickles down to the staff. i saw two girls chatting away the entire time they were supposed to be in their assigned sections about another girl 'who called in sick' (i guess it wasnt a likely story?) their selection is dismal, i had to go to 6 different sections before finding an eyebrow pencil!? pretty dumb. im glad im never here. read more

Victoria gardens Sephora just made all of Sephora lose another customer! My daughter received the same pallet twice as a Xmas gift. One being from me her mother so I told her let's just exchange the one I got u. Mind u for the life of me I couldn't find the receipt to it I had every other receipt for every Xmas gift I bought but that one. But we used the insider card and bank card sooo a receipt could be pulled up....well when we came in yes the receipt could be pulled up but they refused to let her exchange it because it was bought at a Sephora inside jcpenny. She was looking for a foundation and a few other things and the Sephora at that jcpenny didn't have her shade of foundation. Sooooo I ended up driving to Tyler mall Sephora and they happily gave her store credit! I called the VG Sephora and asked for the manager address this bs and she tried telling me it was Sephora policy no receipt no exchange no nothing I quickly called her out on her bs and she couldn't get out if it. So I told her thanks to ur location u just lost a customer who spends a whole lot of money there On make up because u suck at customer service! U just gave ulta ur business! This store is unsanitary, almost never has items in stock, stations are missing things like tissues or polish remover, and the customer service here is terrible. The staff stand around talking and don't offer help or say hello when you walk in the door. I saw an employee spraying their hair with product while the line was almost out the door. I bought perfume that when I opened the box the bottle was shattered. I was just outside so I walked back in and told me to get back in long line to exchange a broken product. This store needs more training and to take pride in where they work. Most importantly, keep the place clean and stocked. read more

She knew exactly what each product contained and what it will do to the feel and appearance of my skin. They were very busy and I waited my turn for an artist (Alyssa) ...she totally gave me the attention I needed just as if I was her first customer of the day, which I totally appreciated. I came here looking for a blush that was sold out at Ulta and found it here. I felt as though I could not even look around the store without constantly being asked if I needed help the girls there were all trying to push product on me that I was not even interested in. I even walked over to smell a perfume and one employee reached over and had me smell a perfume and was told it was their best seller.. funny because it was the most expensive perfume they carried and it smelled badly. I've been to another Sephora which is inside JCPennys in Chino Hills and the workers there are just as rude and have no knowledge of the products they sell. read more

My cousins and I went to Sephora on Black Friday. You'd expect everyone to be a little irritable with high traffic crowds but it was surprisingly not that busy. Now in past experience at this Sephora (it's my local one) I've hardly ever been approached by anyone for assistance here and have usually always had to hunt someone down and find help on my own, but last night, Kaitlyn helped my cousin and I find exactly what we were looking nice for. She approached us and asked how she could help. She took the time to color match my cousin and even took the time to show me how to use the contour kit that I wanted to buy! read more

UPDATE: If you ever come in for a makeover, try to ask for Laura or Horlando. These artists are amazingly skilled and knowledgable, and they really take their time and use quality products on you. I've also had Summer do my makeup here, but that was disappointing. She didn't seem to know much about skincare and was also rushing to get back on the floor even though the store wasn't busy. My face felt heavily caked on after my session with her. She doesn't seem to enjoy doing makeup so maybe she should stick to the register or helping customers in other ways. read more

This Sephora is awesome. Usually I just want to get my make up and go because I don't particularly like talking to the workers inside. But this one changed it all. The girls in there were so helpful and welcoming. They aren't the type to follow you around asking if you need help. They're honest with their answers, which in my opinion, is the best part. The staff here is inconsistent. A few of them are quite knowledgable about several product lines. Unfortunately, the rest seem to wing it. They seem unwilling to admit if they don't know the answer to your question and don't try to find another associate who can help. Additionally, they are frequently out of many beauty staples. First time at this Sephora, was checking out Victoria Gardens for the first time and saw Sephora so I decided to get a sample of the new Urban Decay all nighter foundation. Was not greeted by the girls standing near the entrance (no bigger), I asked for a sample of another item i wanted to try, and you would have thought I asked the girl to climb a mountain instead of getting a sample! I then asked if they had the new Urban Decay foundation she told me she didn't know but I could check the urban decay section. Well duh! Anyways I went over to the urban decay section and asked if I could get a sample, the girl there said she was busy and would call someone else. Courtney (I want to say she had a P on her name tag but I don't remember, she had blonde hair) came over to help and was super amazing! She was beyond helpful, gave me tips and actually listened to my concerns. She is the only reason I really wanted to do a review. All the employees there need to take notes from Courtney. Umm I just got snapped at by a Sephora employee! Okay so when I go makeup shopping I never wear makeup and I was kind of dressed like a bum but I'm a rouge status so I obviously shop here a lot but today I just wanted to rebuy a Marc Jacobs lip liner that I have. I decided I wanted the matching lipstick so I asked a worker if she would help me. She seemed annoyed to have to stop talking to a coworker but she did come over. They didn't have the tester for the lip liner I was going to buy and so I took it out of the package so I could swatch it to match with the lipstick. I had 100% intention to buy the lip liner. As soon as I took it out she snapped and was like "you can't take that out of the package!" I was not expecting to get scolded and I put it back immediately. My sister jumped to my defense and asked if I was going to buy it why couldn't I take it out of the package? The lady cut her off and said that until I bought it I couldn't try it out. I ask her if she at least knew which one went with it, and she started pointing to random ones and said I could try those (kind of pointless if I can't match it with the liner) I asked if there was a Marc Jacobs in the Sephora in JCPennys and she said no so I immediately left. Honestly This is not the first time I've been treated like this at this store and I'll just stick to ordering online and returning if the product doesn't work out. I've never gone to a Sephora before until last week or so, which also happened to be on a Saturday evening I believe. The store was moderately crowded like I expected. The check out line was long however they cashiers were ringing people up quickly. Anyway, on to my initial review. This store was so under stocked it was ridiculous. I'm talking about shelves only having like 4 items on them at some points. Their Tarte Rain-forest of the Sea foundation display which looked like it could hold 16 bottles of foundation--had like 4 bottles. If shelves were stocked, they were disorganized and put in the wrong places (by customers of course, but still). Also, their "tester" / "try me" make-up was gross and dirty. Fingers prints smeared everywhere and make-up looking so dried out like its been there for days without switching them out. That's pretty much any place, though. Like Target and Wal-mart (oh god don't even get me started on Wal-mart's make-up section). I've seen 4 other Sephora locations on Yelp all having an average of 3 star reviews so I might not go to Sephora again and will just stick to buying online maybe. I got lucky with a sweet girl who rung me up and if all the employees were like that at my Sephora location (like I said I've only been there once), then I'd go back. read more

It aids me to give a negative review without physically having gone to the store but staff member Natalia has put me off from ever visiting this location. I understand they must be getting calls left and right about the new BeccaxJaclyn Hill limited edition highlighter but out of all the Sephoras I've called she was by far the only rude employee to answer the line . She was brash and you can tell she was probably answering calls about it all day but there was no need to be so aggressive. She hung up on me before I could even say "thank you." I'm only leaving the review because everyone else I called was so nice with the exception of her so her attitude was appalling. The riverside location is so much better. I have a difficult time getting help here and pretty much have to schedule a custom makeover to get the help i want asap. Only problem is the custom make overs can suck depending on who you get. One girl glued by freaking eye closed when she applied my false lashes and then when she went to fix it, the band of the lash was so much higher than the base of my own. NOT CUTE!!!! Compliments to the lady who is always in skincare. She prepped my skin and had me do a mask before my make over last time. I wish all the employees treated VIB ROUGE members that well. read more

I visited this location for the 1st time thinking they'd have a better store than the location closed to me due to the location. I was very unhappy with the customer service. I was hoping to purchase a few new products but I was very disappointed with the 2 staff members that helped me. 1st lady showed me 2 products but was very pushy and felt like she was in a rush to quickly move along to talk to a co-worker. I asked for a sample of one and she gave me the sample, than took off. I honestly will never go back or recommend this location. I was so upset I put my items back and walked down to Ulta where 1 staff member was very friendly took the time to explain and show me a variety of products. I will stick to Ulta from now on.
