Oh-em-gee. I've never been ignored like that, EVER. My cousin and I needed a new quality foundation, so of course we came in the store without any make-up on. I'm guessing this is why we were ignored for a good 15 minutes? We weren't even greeted by anyone while entering the store! We walked in. Silence from the women in black with aprons on. We look around for NARS foundation, finally find it. USUALLY, doesn't one get a "oh may I help you?" Something along that line? No. Maybe they did not see us. So I try to make eye contact. It's successful, but one girl looks at me then looks down. What is she looking down at? A baby. A freakin baby. And it's not just her, there are THREE other Sephora employees in awe of this baby. -___- . I turn my head away from that scene and spot another employee helping a lady. Unfortunately, I was forced to be rude and interrupt them. I told her we needed to try on foundations and she told us to sit and her make-up lady would be with us. So the girl finally comes. My cousin goes first. The girl put invisible foundation on my cousin. -____- . A $40.00 invisible foundation. Anyway, after four foundations we finally pick one. The lady quickly leaves us. I didn't even get to try anything. Let me add that there are more staff members than customers at this time. So again we are left alone, while my cousin still wanted to try on a lipstick. We stood around again attempting to give these women another try. Does not work. Oh, look the baby is still here! Since we had no help, we did it ourselves. She sat down in the make up chair while I transformed into a Sephora employee professional make-up artist. I grabbed the lil tools they left and applied her lipstick. Ugly, ugly, ugly. No lipstick. She purchased the foundation faaaaast because there was no line because there was barely anybody in there. As we're leaving, "Bye, ladies!" from a greeter at the door. Oh-em-gee. I gave them one star for the make-up lady and the cashier being nice. Another because we actually liked & bought a foundation. Sephora has good quality stuff for my daughter. The issue I have is that when I took her to get her makeup done for homecoming they made her look like a hooker. The staff obviously didn't understand that a fourteen year old should not look like a street walker. If going just to buy products it is great. Do not however get a makeover there before an important event. read more

Like what other yelpers say, the customer service is so-so at this location. I have received nothing but great service from the men who work at this location, they have always been generous and helpful. But when it comes to the ladies...it's a hit or miss. I wish I could remember the names of the employees, but there are the ones that actually reach out to try to help you and then there are others who stand and watch...pretend to clean/organize the make up. I came into the store to return some items that did not work out for me, the cashier was in such a bad mood because the line was long and she had to do a little more work with my return. The only words she said to me were "okay" and "slide your card". Very unprofessional. Leaving this review on a good note, you are able to return most products with a receipt for a refund, which I think is awesome! And sometimes you do get a make up artist/employee that does want to help find the right match of make up/beauty product for you. :) read more

so the only reason why they got two stars is because I was told by the Sephora in Pleasanton that my favorite person Sylvia has started working back here. So of course I had to follow her she's amazing if you need any advice go to her when coming into the store. Other than that crappy service no when asked me if I needed any type of help I said there for 45 minutes not one person greeted me unfortunately Sylvia was not working. The women were rude and I'm sorry to say this but being a bitch at work is very inappropriate if you don't like your job get a new one. I love Sephora, but today I've encountered an unprofessional worker. She was heavy weight and white with red/orange colored hair and had small lips and her make up wasn't really that good. Anyways, I bought small item & gave her a 50 bill with the exact change. The receipt said I was suppose to get $33 back. But since she didn't count back my change to me, I counted it myself and only got $28 back. So I went back to her and told her. She asked "I gave you 28??" Like duh ofcourse why would I come back and waste my time if I got what I was suppose to. So she did apologize but I just thought it was very unprofessional to just leave me hanging waiting to get $5 while she continued helping other customers before me. So I kept calm drinking my Starbucks then finally she got back to me, but still didn't get the change I was suppose to. She ended up giving me a dollar over, but hey that's not my fault. On top of that I also over heard her say "why do I keep doing this today" towards the manager so I obviously wasn't the only one who experienced this poor and unprofessional customer service from her. I agree completely with previous post. Obviously nothing has changed since I was there about 6 months ago. I had EXACT same treatment. I was IGNORED by at least 3 sales people. I was finally asked by manager if I needed any help. I told her about me being ignored and she was very apologetic and offered me something which I said NO thank you. This store looks beautiful now that it has been remodeled!!! Every person I ever come across here is friendly and helpful. I love that you can get samples of things to try it before you commit. Previously, I have only bought items online because I am self conscious and always feel like my makeup/ skin is being judged by makeup store employees. I've heard online that Sephora will color match you to find the best foundation for your skin. This is something that I've been wanting to do for a long time and finally got a chance to do it. My friend and I came in when we were walking around the shopping area and honestly my experience was great! At the color IQ station a beauty consultant named Alex helped me. She asked me questions about my skin type and applied a couple of different combinations of primers and foundations. She was so helpful and sincere. Alex was amazing and really helped me find what works best for my skin. I would come back to this location just because of her and her expertise. Thank you Alex!! read more

I like browsing through the isles and usually find just the right product(s) I need. There are many lines and items, too many though, to choose from, and it can be overwhelming at times. Their return policy is great; I've never had a problem. The sales people are knowledgeable, in general, although if you want specific details about a product or line, you might be better off going to the product counter at a department store where those sales associates are trained in the line. In all, I can dash into the store and find what I need without wandering all over town going into a variety of stores. read more

Went in on Thursday November 11, around 3 ish and I have never been disgusted with the customer service there....these girls were busy talking among themselves without acknowledgement of me. I would ask where Urban Decay products were and was ignored. Wow...they were just ignoring me and no one else was in the store. Since I planned to spend a good amount of money gearing up for Christmas...I just walked out very angry. Knocked off one star for the clutter. It is really hard to get around this store without bumping into someone or something. I have never had any problems with the staff, I've always found them to be very helpful and to have helped me discover wonderful products. I tend to do my own research before shopping for makeup, so maybe that is way I don't get as easily frustrated since I tend to know what I'm looking for and can tell when they're BS'ing me or not. read more

The workers here are nice and helpful. The place is mainly for females, but the place is nice and organized. I have seen friends and acquaintances here. I like to spend my money on quality products and customer service. Unfortunately i was being followed like a hawk as if i was going to steal something.... i had my stroller and baby with me... im a fucking mom with an expensive designer stroller and clothes and i felt like one of the sales persons was literally stalking me but not even being helpful. I was there to spend money not shoplift. And then when i asked her to match my foundation she had a cold hard stare and never smiled once. I tried to make converstation with her while doing my foundation matching but she was being bitchy. Terrible at customer service. I was talking to her about how i used to have platinum blonde hair like hers and how i decided to be brunette after years of being platinum blonde and trying to compliment her hair but she was just as stiff as a board and cold. Not a single smile instead i got a bitchy remark about how its hard to be blonde and something that basically implied i was an idiot when it comes to hair color which was an insult to me since im a hairstylist. She basicly insulted my hair color too. I cant believe i was having a passive aggressive argument with her about blondes vs brunette hair color. I felt steam coming out of my ears. Her foundation looked terrible. And i didnt end up buying the foundation she matched me with. I ended up buying too faced cosmetics better than sex mascara and anastasia liquid lipstick in milkshake. It was my birthday week and the last thing i expected out of sephora was bitchy customer service from a girl who cant do her own damn makeup, match my foundation, and who cant even smile. Let me start out by saying that the ONLY reason this Sephora is getting 4 stars is because of Brianna, the girl who helped me. That being said...when I walked in I was not greeted. I walked aimlessly around waiting for someone to ask if I needed help, but they didn't. I saw that there was someone finishing up with another girl so I decided to wait until she was done. Sure enough when she was done she asked if there was something I needed help with. I told her that I was looking for a new foundation and she then sat me down and listened to me rant about my crazy skin ( I am Japanese, Irish, and Native American so it is extremely difficult to find a shade that matches my skin!) She grabbed 3 different colors in three different brands (all of which were in the price range that I gave her) and started trying them on me. She was extremely nice and made me happy I decided to give this Sephora another chance. When she could tell I wasn't sure which one I wanted, she gave me samples of all 3!! Since I wasn't buying the foundation I decided to walk around to see if there was anything else I wanted to buy there but all I got were ugly stares from girls that were looking at me like I was a bum who was trying to steal. Yes, I had no makeup on because I was getting matched, and cut off shorts on because it was 90 degrees outside! They were extremely rude to me and then I actually saw them greet other woman who came in all done up. Every time I go in there its like that. If you don't look like you have the money they assume that you don't. Once again, I would've NEVER gone back to that Sephora but since I saw Brianna I will be returning, if not just to give them one last chance, to hope that Brianna is there and can help me! read more

I just returned home from doing some much needed holiday shopping and my whole evening was ruined by an encounter with two of the associates at the Walnut Creek Sephora store. After my friends and I walked into the store around 5:30 I was approached by an asian woman who appeared to be in her late 20's, called "Ninja" by her fellow associates, who came off very hostile asked "Can I help you with that fragrance?", when i replied, "no", she asked "Are you sure about that?" in a very condescending and accusing tone and began to stare me down. I once again replied "No", thinking nothing of the matter and continued to browse. As I tried to continue shopping I noticed she was following me and my friends exceedingly close around the store and shooting us an accusing glare. She then forced a shopping bag upon us as if to make a statement. When one of my friends, who was unaware of the hostile situation at the time, tried to inquire about the location of a product she just saw another customer holding "Ninja" was extremely rude to her & instead of helping her find the product pointed her off in a general direction, and continued to stare me,and the others with me, down. As we were leaving the store "Ninja" followed us out, again exceedingly close, and as I walked through the doors I saw "Ninja" and two other associates near the front door, one being the manager, smirk and exchange smug looks. When a friend and I returned to ask about the treatment we recieved "Ninja" sarcasticly replied, "We were just providing you with excellent customer service". When I expressed my confusion at this statement, and pointed out how she followed us doggedly around the store she stated, "I was just watching my wall.". Her "wall", as she states, was on the other side of the store, in men's cologne. When my friend brought up her less than acceptable encounter after she asked for the location of a product and how "Ninja" followed us out of the store and smirked the manager jumped in and said, "She was just coming to tell me something." This attempt at an excuse was not very credible, considering that upon walking in the store my friend heard the manager inform an associate, "Ninja we have a problem in the front of the store, I need you to watch them." I am highly dissappointed at the treatment I received. My friends and I agree that we have never had a more uncomfortable and unpleasant shopping experience, and with all of us working in customer service, have never seen a more ill practice of it. The four of us felt targeted, alienated, and extremely insulted, and we won't be returning to the Walnut Creek Sephora, or possibly any Sephora, again. read more

When I came here one of the girls who worked here asked me what I was looking for. I told her I wanted a natural makeup look that would compliment my very pale skin and blonde hair. She did my makeup and used a dark gold color for my eyeshadow, a dark orange bronzer, a dark eyebrow pencil, and an orange lip gloss. When I suggested other products that looked more like what I came in for she said something like: "those colors are too boring". Um, I wanted a natural look? Dark colors, like the ones she put on me, don't look good on me. She seemed to have ignored what I wanted and did my makeup like how she did hers, not to mention the makeup was very sloppily applied. I ended up putting everything she had suggested back and bought what I thought looked good. I had to wipe off the makeup she put on me before I continued shopping at other stores that day, because I looked pretty bad. I was really disappointed, however I was happy with the products I purchased. I cannot speak for every employee that works here, maybe she was just the one bad apple. I may give this store another chance when I'm in the area again, hopefully I will get someone to assist me that actually knows what they are doing. read more
