I just spent almost $400 on products, stepped out briefly to drop them off in my car, and came back to ask to use the restroom--something I know they have, as I've been a customer since this location first opened in Lafayette. While visiting this location to pickup a few products, I was invited by the Dr. Sturm rep (not a Blue Merc employee) to book a complimentary Sturm facial the following week during a special promotion, so I did. When I arrived today for my scheduled facial, it took more than 10 minutes for staff to determine that the Sturm rep was not yet in the shop, and wouldn't be for another 45 minutes. This gave me an opportunity to practice my breathing versus getting hot under the collar. I asked the store manager, Jessica, if she could pull together some Dr. Sturm samples in lieu of the missed facial appointment, and she went right to work on that. Honestly, without Jessica's intervention and her attempts to "make things right" I would have left this store a 1-star review + commitment to never ever return. But she pulled it together, gave me tons of samples, made me feel valued and I would definitely return to this store again. Folks, please resist the urge to buy through Amazon. If you don't support your local retailer, your future shopping opportunities will be all the more bleak. Treat people with respect and see what magic will unfold for you. read more

I agree with one of the reviews that said the customer service was non - existent . This is the worst experience I had with blue mercury . It's the first time I went to this location . It was empty so they can't say they were busy . One employee was helping a customer . There were two others that were just busy talking amongst themselves in their own language and could not be bothered at all . They never came to ask if we needed anything . It was like pulling teeth . We had to keep asking them if they had certain items to which they would quickly look and then run back to start chatting with each other . This particular store should really look at their employees here who are doing zero to sell anything . If you depend on them you will lose everything. I went on a Wednesday am this week . This is the second or third time in 4 years I've had to walk out. Each time I walk in I am steered toward the Chanticilillie counter even though I tell them what I'm looking for. today I said I was looking for non toxic foundation and again right to the chanticiclillie counter even though I said I'd like to see all the other non toxic brands first . I told the lady I take cool colors and I do not want to see a line from my jaw to my chin. She said no you're a warm and proceeded to put the foundation on my face and under my jaw and said it matches. I said I couldn't see it under my jaw and to put some on my neck as I like to match my neck anyway. . She said I was finicky and I could go over to the natural light. She said she was going to go darker and I said not darker the one I have on is darker than my neck. The other sales girl standing there said it matches. Talk about brain fuc$. Three different opinions and the two sales lady's not agreeing with each other or me. I told them "I'm sorry this just even working for me" and left. Another thing I only had a quarter for the meter and asked if the greeter had change for a dollar, she said no. I went out to my car to scrounge for any loose change and went back in to ask for change from someone else and she said we don't carry cash in this store and proceeded to go to a drawer and pulled out 4 quarters for me. I came to this bluemercury on different occasions their costumer service is non existence I stop by July 31 after work may be 3pm there was no customer when I waked in browse around for 15 to 20 minutes before I got what I was looking for the two ladies by the counter were just going through their phone not once did they ask me if I needed help. I used to love shopping at BlueMercury (especially this location) that was until the new manager, Jessica, arrived. She has zero customer service skills. Talking to her is like talking to the wall. I spend a lot of money at this store and always ask myself the same question after leaving the store " why do I bother shopping here?" I really do hope the district managers pay attention to our reviews and figure out a way to make it more friendly and welcoming. This is a neighborhood store that should treat us locals well since we keep them in business.. I'm not for asking anyone to roll out the red carpet, but I am asking for some great customer-- I don't feel that's too much to ask for.. most of the employees there are relatively kind with the exception of Jessica. Its an adult wonderland if you like cosmetics and beauty supplies. I used to have to go to Washington D.C. to visit this store. I am sooooo happy it opened in Lafayette. My favorite hair care product Bumble and Bumble has every single kind of option available. They also had a great selection of candles. They smelled yummy and ready for the holidays. All staff are wearing mask and gloves. Staff were incredibly helpful and attentive. I was hesitant about coming here at first because I thought they only had expensive product, however they have a lot of midrange products as well. They also give lots of samples and if you spend over $120 you get a cool sample bag with lots if goodies. I happens to come in when the were having a special and I was able to get a free medical grade eye cream that is worth $78!! That is incentive enough for me to return. Plenty of metered parking nearby and lots if places to eat. read more

I went into Bluemercury feeling low about my skin. I sat down and was pampered with a facial after only 10 minutes of browsing and feeling confused by what choices would be best for my skin. I bought many of the products. Some I had to return but the exchange was easy and a new solution was provided in its place. The second time was a charm. Its easy now. So I didn't end up buying anything, but I did love my experience of just browsing through the store. It was nicely organized and all of the associates were very kind and didn't hound me like a hawk. The person who answered the phone was very nice and helpful. She confirmed my item was in stock and that I would get the special discount. Wonderful store, wonderful employees. Went to the Danville location and got the best service. Hamie (sorry if I misspelled your name) helped us and he was so sweet, attentive and wonderful makeup artist. I went in the store intending to buy only mascara and ended up leaving with $500 of makeup. Not because he was pushy but because they have amazing products and Hamie showed me how to use all of the products. All the other employees were super friendly and helpful as well. Absolutely disappointed in this particular store! I was excited with the fact that its closer to work and home , but as soon as I walked in there was a lack of customer service. There was nobody in the store at all and the two employees did not greet me until I was closer to the register. I worked retail for many years and know that there is a five-second window that you should be greeting your customers, but clearly this was not a priority here.
