We have enjoyed going to this location for the past decade since moving back to the Bay Area. There are indeed bigger locations, but this little one, tucked into the Broadway Plaza, is our hands down favorite. Our children (now adults) and now our Grandson, love the place (best smelling 2nd grader in his class). He loves the sensory experience walking i- the smells, the touch, washing his hands with all the different soaps and gels and his favorite- the starch packing peanuts. The staff are always a delight and helpful and patient beyond all expectations with an 8 year old, and we appreciate them immensely. read more

I like this spot. Became a bit obsessed when I saw them in London at a train station. There was a stand and I perused them. At the time, I was making and selling my own products so I didn't buy them. When I went into my first store here in the states, I was overwhelmed by the selection. They have a lot of stuff. On this day, I came here for a product that they had that women with natural hair use. They had it, but it had jojoba oil which is a no-no for me. So, I left empty handed. This is a pretty popular Lush location in the East Bay and they still limit the number of people inside the store so every weekend I've gone there has always been a social distanced line outside. If you know what you're exactly want it goes by a little bit faster. The workers are very friendly but right now there is actually a shortage and they're back stocked on a lot of items. They had no face masks available well not many available, they have bath bombs but you could tell they were out of a lot of things. A lot of people like they're natural ingredients that are fresh. They also have shampoo and conditioner bars which are great for traveling since they're solid and not liquid and they're better for the environment. This is a great place to find natural soaps, bath bombs, face masks, shampoo, conditioner and all bath and household natural needs like cleaners etc. read more

Customer service was excellent, the store was clean and the smells were intoxicating! I had used Lush products in the past and then stopped, but I don't know why. The Turtle Power is a body scrub (with oil) and it leaves your body soft and smelling good. And if you have trouble sleeping, try the magnesium dry bar. I rub the bar in my hands and then massage the soft velvety oil into my feet, and within half an hour I fall asleep. This store has so much to offer and they even have a small makeup section. I will definitely be returning to get more of the magnesium dry bar. So what are you waiting for? Grab your hubby and head on over to Broadway Plaza in Walnut Creek and get to shopping! "Closed for a private party" ... during their regular posted business hours, is complete BS. People should be able to rely on the hours posted so they don't come all the way down to the store for no reason. Completely rearranging everything else they had to do that day, when if they had known Lush randomly closes, like if the hours just said "whenever", would have gone elsewhere. I stopped in today to look around and kill some time and I am so happy that I did! I had the best shopping experience that I've had in a while. For starters, the music being played in the store was great! When I walked in, I was immediately greeted by Michelle, a manger. Throughout my time there we chatted a bit about ourselves and of course the products and she very kindly/generously offered me quite a few samples. I am so excited to try them all out! Later another employee who's name I am regretfully forgetting at the moment, was equally as kind and helpful!! She pointed me towards there LOC haircare line which i'm pumped about. Both were very knowledgeable about the products throughout the store. It is always nice, yet rare, when you walk into a retail store and can tell that the staff are happy to be there. I brought in 35 used LUSH containers. The attendant counted out all of them and offered me 7 free face masks. His associate then came over and proceeded to tell me that they were "not clean enough". She proceeded to point out tiny bits of leftover product in the grooves where the caps are screwed in, and underneath in the bottom groove of the container. I told her I don't live nearby and i especially came today to return these- as I had had them for a long time. She would not allow me to participate in the return program due to very minor product residue, and was incredibly judgemental and rude to a VERY good customer (I had purchased over 35 of these!). I told her I thought this situation was very silly, and she proceeded to stare at me and offer no other solution. It was incredibly embarrassing as I had to pack up the containers while the associates watched and offered no other commentary or assistance. LUSH has lost a long time customer because of this awful experience. read more

[ During Covid Review ] Located in the Broadway Plaza in Walnut Creek you won't have trouble finding parking because they do offer free parking in their garage for 2 hours. Lots of space in the garage even during their busy times. Because of Covid, they only allow 2 customers in at a time and so if they are at their limit, you will have to wait outside. The downside is that while you wait outside in the line, sometimes it does get windy and you get cold. I will say that if you order ahead online to pick up your items, you will have to wait in line too, which sucks. I do like that when I was in line, I knew what I wanted and so when I was next in line to go inside, I was able to just let the employee know what I wanted and she just simply grabbed it for me. Afterwards, she checked me out and I was able to go. So my advice for anyone is, if you know what you want as you wait just let them know so you can get your order faster. read more

Went in to look at some things with my niece Naomi, was helped by an amazing kind hearted employee named Sugar, my niece had never been inside a lush store, which made her experience that much more exciting ! Sugar showed her some bath bombs, and even demonstrated them for her making the experience that much more personal. I visit this store 3-5 times per year as a splurge. The team is always helpful and provides great advice and service. On my visit yesterday, they were having issues with their card payment systems, and were only able to accept cash. I can only imagine how stressful this was for the team, considering it was right in the middle of the holiday rush!! They really did a great job of letting everyone one know that came in. They also offered the highest level of service by offering to pack and fulfill an online pick up order right away if you placed it online and let them know!! I mean!!! It was a Saturday, 7:57pm. Lush in Walnut Creek caught the eyes of an OG Minecraft player and drew them in with their poster like some kind of enchanting spell. We were warned that they closed at 8pm. But we knew we were walking out like a bandit--after paying of course. The lovely Lush associate that assisted us was Sugar, and like her name, she was very sweet and took her time rang us up. Sugar was more than a transactional merchant; she made sure we knew the Creeper was more than a one-time use shower soap, she let us get the TNT bath both to make sure we defeated the Bathenderdragon, and gave us an imaginary treasure chest to redeem a sample. As an extreme introvert, I really have to work myself up to my visits to Lush. The customer service is very hands on, knowledge based, and demo-oriented. Expect that even if you say you're 'just looking', the associates will continue to chat with you, slip you samples, and even reach into your basket to paper bag your naked products at times (this isn't my favorite thing, because I'm visual and often switch the bombs in and out before making final decisions, but I get how it's a good sales tactic to get you to not put things back). For me this is really overwhelming, but I can't fault the store for their customer service-- as they really do their best to be efficient and are trained to do the friendly upsell. The store is always well kept, well staffed, and the associates here go out of their way to help you out. One of them literally left the store to grab a brand new box of a bath bombs, so I could take home one that had sold out in the store. That's some amazing customer service. Overall I love what the company stands for. I love that they sell beauty products without packaging. I love that they use natural and safe synthetics, with educational explanations of each ingredient available on the website. I love that they pay a living wage to their employees in both stores and factories. I have completely switched my self care products over to Lush products-- I use their shampoo and conditioner bars exclusively, their lip scrubs, and now a bath bomb or bubble bar a couple times a week to help with chronic pain. All in all, while I wish that their customer service was less aggressively helpful, I am satisfied with the customer experience, and I really do appreciate that when I ask for help, the associates go above and beyond to accommodate. read more
