I don't know what's going on at this location. Every time I walk into the store, no one is ever on the floor. Workers are hanging out in the back (I can hear their voices as they chat among themselves). I just end up browsing on my own and leave if I don't see the product I'm looking for. The last time I visited was the worst. Doors were unlocked and I walked into the store, like any normal customer would do. As soon as I stepped in, a very rude employee annoyingly retorted, "We open at noon." She acted like I was a nuisance for trying to shop at the establishment. How was I suppose to know they were not open? If they didn't want anyone in there, they should have kept the door locked. Only showed up 10 mins early. I walked out and just kept walking. I don't know what's going on at the store, but I recently went in to pick up a gift, the sales lady was holding hands with the security guard and called the other woman working there "mommy." It was very strange. I asked them for some help because now you can't just grab what you need. Walked in around 3pm and there were two workers in the store, a Asian woman organizing and shelving items and a African woman behind the counter. Only the Asian woman greeted us even though the other lady was pretty close to the door as well but that's not a big deal. It was my first time visiting L'Occitane at the Walnut Creek location so I was looking around and had my eye on two products I've seen before. I was looking at the larger unscented hand cream and wanted to know if there is a cheaper bottle, so I asked the lady at the counter and she was so rude, she asked me "you don't see it? It's over there", as I asked if there was a smaller option. She previously handled a customer who walked in and said something along the lines of "nice to see you back" and was so much attentive and kind to her. Not even helpful or trying to be polite about the customer having a question is such horrible customer service and hospitality. A very disappointing experience for my first time here, hope you guys can find someone who has more patience and attentiveness than this lady at the desk. read more

I have been using L'Occitane En Provence for a while now. Love Rose series, it's my favorite. I had a birthday coupon which I wanted to use in store today. After 25 minutes spending with cashier we finally figured out that my coupon does apply on certain products only, but not on Rose series. The seller tried to sell me Rose Lotion $29, Rose shower gel $29 and perfume $59 for $135 instead of $116. Looks like the free gift didn't ring up free or something else was going on. But it took me sometime to explain that the price wasn't right. She said she trusted the computer. After all I decided to not get any of the birthday discounts or gifts and go simple, just buy a set that was priced $84. They told me total price over hundred something which didn't make sense even if adding 8.25% sales tax. It tools sometime to figure out it was not ringing in the system right. After all they couldn't sell me the set for the price they had on display. Huge disappointment and nobody even apologized. Terrible customer service. Sale people don't seem knowledgeable at all. I guess in Walmart even better experience than in this high standard and not very cheap European brand. read more

I've shopped at L'Occitane for many years now. I'm a VIP and do most of my shopping online. VIPs get many perks, including free samples and gifts. I decided to go to the Domain location in Austin since it had been years since I shopped at an actual boutique. The associate was friendly and helpful. She was knowledgeable about the products and their many benefits. I love the Divine Eyes and Divine Cream and highly-recommend both. While you're at it, request a sample of the Youth Oil. I'm hooked. I also recommend the verbena bath and shower gel and lotion, the many varieties of soaps, almond oil and cream, Cherry blossom bath gel and body cream and the Pivoine Flora spray, lotion, soap and gel. L'Occitane's products are made in Provence. They are wonderful and you don't need to use a lot, as a little goes a long way. However, the items are very pricey. In my opinion, some items are way overpriced. Do I recommend L'Occitane? Yes, but be prepared for sticker shock. read more

My daughter, granddaughter and I shopped at the Walnut Creek store yesterday. Bella assisted us and she is a gem. She is passionate about her job and extremely knowledgeable about the products offered. She has used the products for years herself, and was able to recommend the best facial and body products for my daughter and me based on our individual skin types/conditions. What I appreciated most about Bella is her honesty. If we were considering a product that she didn't think would work best for us, she told us why she was of that opinion and which product she felt would work better. In this day and age where customer service at so many places of business is sorely lacking, interacting with Bella was a breath of fresh air. Thanks, Bella!! What a lovely store with lovely products! It's such a small store front, but it's packed with lots of goodies. For those who aren't familiar with L'Occitane, they are French body products, fragrances, and home products. The products are all created in Manosque in Southeastern France. The company name means "the Occitan woman in Provence." The sales clerk, Emili, was so nice on the phone when I called to find out the store hours. She was even nicer in-store! I received Lavande oil as a gift. I can't open it. I called the Broadway Plaza store in Walnut Creek (California). I requested a replacement. The woman I spoke with was rude and refused to let me exchange the item. I then called your customer service number. Another rude woman. She also didn't comprehend that I wanted to exchange Lavande oil that I can't open. She told me that I had to have a gift receipt. I am not going embarrass my co worker by asking for a receipt for a product that is defective. The staff at Broadway Plaza are rude. I'm a fan of L'Occitane products. Their shea butter lotions and creams are super hydrating without being too greasy and absorb nicely in to your skin. The scents of most of their products are pleasant and not overbearing. That being said, my eyes are often bigger than my wallet whenever I visit a L'Occitane location. Still-you get what you pay for. This past weekend was my first official visit to the newest location in Broadway plaza and it was an overall pleasant browsing experience. I had gone in to see if they had any clearance items post holiday-and they did with some great deals on pre-packaged gift sets-just not what I was in the market for. The corner location is on the smaller side but well stocked and displayed nicely to lend to a pleasant shopping experience. There are plenty of testers out to use and the staff is very helpful. Upon entering they greet you warmly and ask if there is something specific you are looking for. I heard one interaction with another customer where they spoke about their skin needs with the staff recommending what would work best for their needs. L'Occitane is a beautiful store with quality products. Worth stopping in to get ideas, make a wish list or if you are willing to drop some $$$ pick up a few bath & body splurges. So I just got exposed to the LAVANDE (lavender) line at L'Occitane thanks to Cassandra. I came in to grab a couple of hand creams; one for work and the other to keep at my bedside. Cassandra explained the different creams and suggested the 15% Shea butter lotions are great for work as they don't leave an oily residue on pieces of papers and all. Perfect! I always picked up my hand creams from Sephora but Cassandra was offering suggestions and let me play around with the products in store. It was super handy that they had a sink in the middle of the store to wash your hands while trying everything out. I walked out with more than I came for and am super pleased with all the goodies I purchased! read more

I stopped in hoping someone could help me locate which L'Occitane lotion they have at The Four Seasons and I was not disappointed. Not only did the sales associate know exactly what scent line I was looking for, they helped me find the complimentary products in that line so I could stock up. The actual store layout was very nicely merchandised and everything was in its place. There is plenty of room to browse each section, everything was organized well, and there are plenty of collection packages if you're like me and you want to take everything home. It was also nice that the staff was attentive at all the right times, so I could look at everything in peace but have someone ready when I did have a question. Part of me wishes I still lived near this location, but it's probably better for my pocketbook if I can't wander in too often. read more

I have found a wonderful skin care store! L'Occitane is an amazing and beautiful parisian based business which sells many different soaps, lotions, frilly but amazing skin care things you don't need, and more! I stopped in yesterday because I got a coupon for a free $10 hand lotion that is their most popular one from an online offer (brought it to them on my iPhone and the lady rang me up with no trouble). I came in on a Saturday and they were advertising free hand massages which I thought was awesome but I was running errands and had heard amazing things about them. Dragged the boyfriend in and I'm sure he felt overwhelmed by all the things smelly that he wasn't sure what to do, I bought a foot lotion since I heard great reviews on that product as well and asked the lady if she could recommend me some skin care items for people with oily skin. She directed me to a mattifying moisturizer that I instantly wanted to try so I bought and she gave me a warning that this was going to be discontinued pretty soon so if I liked it, to buy them all up before the new line came out. Overall, for my first experience in the store, although all the products were overwhelming, I came out a smarter and awesomely smelling-er person! Note: they have this amazing rose bar soap for $3 and 100% of it goes to charity which is awesome! Diana and minnie helped me today and they were awesome. I went to other stores and even when i said i was putting in a big order I didn't get good service as great as these two gave me. They were friendly, attentive and worked hard to help me get my orders. I usually use the brand next door but i will be changing to l'occtitane i got some samples from them and they're really high quality and very luxurious. They both introduced the brand to me so well. I love love everything L'Occitane produces! Fell in love on my first visit at a location in Paris, France on Rue de Faubourg Saint-Antoine while studying abroad! But of course, couldn't really afford it being a student and um, prices in Euros! So expensive! But now, literally living a block or so down from this location, I am absolutely infatuated with the brand. All the scents are amazing, love the Cherry Blossom eau de toilette, the Peony eau de toilette, and just purchased Plum Blossom eau de toilette! I also love the Jasmine eau de parfum! And a must have for everyone is their amazing shea line! The hand cream is great and I just recently started using their face care! So far so good! I don't ever have a complaint about this location and every person I've worked with has given great customer service and they're all very knowledgeable and you know they love the brand too! read more

First, the new location is beautiful! The chandelier is made up of L'Occitane products, and the floor to ceiling windows allow lots of natural light. It's smaller than their original location, but they've managed to maintain the same inventory and selection (which is very nicely displayed). I'm a big fan of the brand, and thoroughly enjoy the quality of the products. My personal favorites are the almond oil, the shea butter hand cream, and their lip balm. The products are a bit pricey, but totally worth it. I've been going back and forth about which product to use on my face, and Cassandra was SO helpful. She tested my skin type, explained all the options she recommended for me (without pressuring me to buy anything), and helped me choose the Immortelle precious cream. If you're in the market for new skin care and have any questions, I highly recommend talking to Cassandra. read more

I love the L'Occitane brand and have used their Lavande hand cream for years. I will continue to do so. However my rating is for this particular store, and not the company nor the products. I purchased a Divine Star set - a substantial purchase even at the sale price of $186 - which came with a smaller gift set of the products in travel sizes (a $46 value). I expressed concern over my sensitive skin potentially reacting to the products, and the saleswoman suggested I try the travel sizes for a while, and if it didn't work out, I could return the Divine Star set within 30 days as long as it was unopened and unused. I did exactly that and, as I feared, my skin reacted poorly to the products. After 17 days I returned to the store with my set completely untouched (still with the original bag and bow) and was told (by a different saleswoman) that she could not accept my return unless I also returned the gift set. I told her that it was used, of course, and that I had already thrown out the box it came in, but she said that I would not have qualified for the sale price without it and needed to return both. Asking to return a free gift with purchase? That seems tacky (and quite desperate) to me. After leaving the store I called L'Occitane toll-free customer service, who apologized for their error and immediately arranged for a UPS courier to my house to pick up the item and process my return. Also, logging on to the L'Occitane website, I did confirm that the Divine Star set is already priced at $186 - with no strings attached. Will be purchasing my favorite products elsewhere from now on. read more

Crappy return policy and crappy customer service at this location. I tried to return an item purchased online at this location and they said they could only give me store credit. I pointed out that the website clearly stated online purchases can be returned to any of their stores within 14 days. Still they wouldn't budge saying I didn't have a printed receipt (Who has a printed receipt when they purchased online? I had the packing slip.). Then they said they really don't do online returns at the stores (even though the website said they do). I'm done with them and their overpriced stuff. I'll be greasing my dry knees and elbows with that trusty old' Vaseline from now on. Update: I decided to give them another chance when I found a cute gift set on sale and was able to use a 15% off coupon. I placed the order online and got the confirmation. A day later I get a call from a blocked number saying they are out of stock of the item and did I want to choose something else or want a refund. I wanted a refund. She needed my card number and when I asked why they don't have it she got an attitude and said the numbers are encrypted and therefore they don't have the entire number. Needless to say I didn't feel comfortable about giving my cc info out. read more

I love this place! It makes me want to create new words. Words that don't exist. Words that can be used to describe the wonder of using scents to carry you away from the drudgery of the smelly city. How about Smell-i-bration? A celebration of the olfactory senses? Or Scent-i-cation? A vacation of scents taken with your eyes closed? You get the picture. It smells good in this store. It's damned expensive to actually buy anything in this store, but they are kind enough to allow you to come in a wallow in the smell of the French countryside in the spring. Yeah, if you have springtime allergies you may want to run. But for the rest of us, this place is a treat. Why not run and treat your nose? After all, you treat your hands and feet to mani-pedis. You treat your hair to silky treatments. You treat eyes to that hot guy walking down the sidewalk. I guarantee you that your nose is feeling left out. So every year my office has a holiday party with a white elephant gift exchange. The gifts are usually pretty good, though, this year I took a digital picture frame and went home with season two of a TV show on BBC. (??!!) ONe of the most popular and stolen items on the table was a hand lotion from L'O. I had never heard of it but the ladies said they buy it when they find it duty free and that they love it. SO I went in to the store before Christmas and purchased a big tube ($28) for my Mom and grandma-in-law. My mother-in-law has an allergy to spf so husband and I went back for another big tube and some little ones ($10) when we read it's spf free. They sold little keys $5 to get all of the stuff out of the tube and we bought some of those too. I heard today there is an outlet in the new Livermore outlet mall that has significantly reduced prices on the shower and bath products. I really liked a perfume ($50) I smelled as we were walking out - I'll probably go soon and see if the outlets carry it. Great customer service - the employees were very willing to help and answer all of our questions. Everyone really liked the gifts. His family is from France so that made it even cooler. read more

I don't use a lot of skin care products, but really like everything L'Occitane sells. Have used their after shave for years and have become completely addicted. Pricing is a bit higher than other brands, but the quality more than makes up for the price difference. This location is always very clean and the employees are very helpful. Because of an incident with the actual store manager who treated me disrepesctfully I will no longer go to this store or buy any of their products. Between my wife and my mother-in-law, I've spent thousands on L'Occitane products. However, the service at this locational is unprofessional and down right rude. When making an in store exchange from a gift set for my wife, the "store manager" explained that because one item of tubed hand cream was removed from the box, it was at "her discretion" to give a refund. When I then explained to her that it was her own store employee who had removed the hand-cream from the box to wrap it in the gift box (and didn't forewarn me that there be an issue), she continued to interrupt me with their policy (I later found online that this wasn't even their policy as I was doing an exchange, with a receipt, etc.). What type of customer service training is this? Felt like I was at a Burger King, not a high end French cosmetics store. Will be taking my business elsewhere as many others have written here.
