We hadn't had our tank pumped in like 5 or 6 years so we figured we wanted to try that before other solutions. We called and got a quote for like $500 to pump it. No biggie. They set us up for pumping in like 2 days and sent someone out that day to see about the drain clearing thing (I already knew it wasn't that but they wanted to send someone that day- which is fine) the guy came, told us our septic tank was full and quoted us like $1700 to pump it. We were shocked and asked again "just to pump it?" and he doubled down that that's the price. So we told him we were quoted $500. So he calls his office and comes back and tells us "yeah it's $500". We found someone else. That sketched me out so much. The dishonesty is disgusting. He didn't know we had the quote by phone, pulled up to our house and decided to quote us higher. I don't know why. people like this are the reason I don't trust plumbers. EDIT: the owner messaged me and accused me of being fake because I wouldn't give him my address, so here's photo proof from my ring cam and the message he sent me.

It was an unexpected major expense, but the septic tanks (2 not 1) needed to be pumped as they hadn't been pumped in decades. At first, my dad and I were skeptical and thought it was a simple drain issue, but after they located and dug up the two septic tanks, we discovered that they were indeed full. The guys did also check the drain pipes (my dad insisted) but they were clear except the one drain pipe coming from the bathroom, which was corroded and had collapsed. I called Shore Line Septic and after talking to them and explaining what was happening they suggested it could be a clog in the line. After doing some more work on my own it turned out they were correct. I got the clog out and everything is working fine. I wanted to leave a positive review for two reasons...1) they took time to talk to me and guide me through some things on the phone, and 2) because they could have easily said nothing, taken my money and just come out and cleaned out my septic, but they didn't do that. I watched and took a peek of what was being done, and it doesn't make sense how we were quoted that much for the work itself. It has technicalities , but I don't think it's extremely complicated.
