I was searching things to do on Groupon, when I came across Sera Fina Cellars. It looked interesting, especially since it was very close to an old family gold claim we used to own. I had to reschedule dates a couple of times, but I was finally able to make it. The weather was perfect, as it was an ideal day to visit the vineyard. My friend and I visited from Sacramento, so it took us about an hour to arrive. It's tucked out in the country, so I didn't mind the drive. Upon arriving there was plenty of parking. I'm sure it's due to the fact they take reservations so they can space guests out. Makes it nice because it's not crowded. We checked in and were asked if we would like to do the tasting inside or outside. Of course we chose outdoors, because it was such a beautiful day. There were several tables outside and about three other tables were occupied. Off to the left is a white picket fence, but to the right is a game area. I noticed they offer bocce ball, which would be fun if you wanted to bring your kids. Sera Fina Cellars allows you to bring your own food, so I brought a charcuterie board. I love the fact that they allow you to do so. We enjoyed the view while we sampled 7 different wines from the list. The seventh one was complimentary, and I must say it was my favorite! The name was Chocolate Kiss, and I believe it was a port paired with chocolate. My second flavor was the Raspberry. The guy who served us was very knowledgeable and made us feel comfortable. Overall, it was such a relaxing and lovely trip. We will definitely be back in the future and I will be purchasing a bottle to-go next time. Our group of six apologize for rolling in at 3:30 when the tasting room closes at 4 pm on Saturday. But in our defense it was so worth it. The gentleman behind the counter is such a gem. He presented us with a Halloween candy and wine pairing menu. What fun and the combinations really complimented each other well. It also gave us a broad taste of the winery's offerings. The tasting room is very spacious with a large central bar and a couple of sofa seating areas. But the patio is where it's at. In the afternoon there is plenty of shade and all day a fabulous view of the rolling hills of grape vines. Plenty of easy parking right out front. Next year we come earlier in the day. read more

Our daughter gave us a gift to Sera Fina. We arrived and chose to sit outside, the weather was perfect. There were only two other parties there this afternoon. The guy bringing our samples was friendly and knowledgeable. I found three wines that I liked and I don't usually care for wine. If only they offered food we would have stayed longer. We have been looking for a winery with an awesome sunny patio and good wine for a while. We found that and much more at Sera Fina Cellars. So much to do here that I will just make a list: Game room Corn hole Bocce ball, etc. The best part is there is cider too! The white wines here are my favorite. Light, balanced, aromatic, and smooth are some characteristics that run throughout them. The reds were good they have a jammy ruby port influence. Great for bbq and dark spicy meats. The view of rolling hills make this a great spot to sit and sip in the sun. The service as awesome too. Quick, friendly, and knowledgeable. This will be a regular stop in Amador county. read more

What a beautiful winery with gorgeous views and excellent customer service. I ordered the Chardonnay and we got there right at noon but the Chardonnay was light and actually would be perfect with breakfast. I let my husband taste it and he said oh my god this is good so we ordered two glasses and sat and saw the beautiful skies and enjoyed the outside patio couches and ended up buying a bottle. Wanting to get away for a little weekend wine tasting, my husband and I came to Sera Fina Cellars on a Saturday afternoon. Since we were bringing our two dogs with us, we wanted to make sure that all of the wineries we visited were dog friendly, and they absolutely were. We decided to do their ultimate flight of wine tasting, which allowed us to pick five or six different wines from anywhere on the menu. They had a nice variety of red wines, white wines, ciders, and sparkling wines. The view from the back patio was lovely, and I appreciated that they had plenty of shade with patio umbrellas and a grassy area for our dogs to lay. Definitely a low-key, good vibe winery. read more

This place was pretty nice and quite after a busy thanksgiving weekend. I had purchased a Groupon from them which includes a tasting and a bottle to take home. The staff were welcoming and we were seated right away and basically had the whole place to ourselves before the next appointment. This tasting was different from other ones but me and my husband didn't mind. You get 8 tastings and you get to choose. I had all four of their whites, two of their reds and two of their ciders. Fantastic service, cute dogs, beautiful grounds, and delicious and affordable wine! I can go on and on about how great Sera Fina is. The wine is great but the experience is made even better by all the employees there. My husband and I have gone three times and have had nothing but fantastic experiences with everybody that has poured us wine. Everyone is so personable, welcoming, funny, and genuinely want you to have a great time. This is somewhere that (when safe), I plan to take all my friends and family members that visit the area. During COVID, they have outdoor seating with umbrellas and everything is poured into little cups that you can pour into a glass to maintain precautions. read more

I was a fan in their early years, but one day I went in tried a couple of wines that tasted stale or oxidized. I asked the server if they had been opened that day, and she said, 'no, yesterday'. I can understand not wanting to waste wine, but I've worked a couple of tasting rooms and typically, the boss would either take them home the open bottles or give them away to staff. So now, years later, I try it using a Groupon, and had the same experience. There was one we liked, but a couple of others tasted as if they've been open for a while. Further, we could only taste from a separate, 'Groupon tasting list' that did not offer their best. If the goal is to impress guests and turn them into regular customers, this doesn't do it. I haven't had that experience at other wineries that have Groupons or other discounts. I can understand having a special reserve tasting list, but non-Groupon people get choices, and it seems like Groupon people are punished or not worthy. It's too bad because it has a nice tasting room and patio, but those policies hurt the experience. read more

Discovered this place through Groupon. It seemed like an interesting way to discover a new winery and I figured since I had to come out here anyway, may as well give them a shot. The tastings came in plastic condiment cups - you basically are given a menu to check off the wines that you would like to try and they are pre-packaged. They give you a glass to pour them into. The Groupon also came with a bottle to take home. Five starts for the service. Can't beat friendly, upbeat staff! You won't get any of that winery attitude here. Two stars for the wine. I've tried maybe two-thirds of the wineries in the area (ask me if I'm an alcoholic and I will say "wi no!") and the wine here sadly did not impress. Also when I try wines, I like to have wines poured into an actual glass from a bottle rather than have them come out of little plastic containers. Just a personal preference. Their cider on the other hand, was very tasty but was not part of the Groupon special. The grounds were nice enough, however you will find other wineries that provide for a more picturesque ambiance. Glad I tried this place but I don't think I will be returning. read more

Friendly folks but the experience was bizarre. My partner and I did a tasting (at the fabulous price of $5) but had to pay for the tasting first. Then the tastings came in little plastic sauce containers; these are pre-poured and sitting on the counter waiting to be tasted. Most of the wines did not taste good - they smelled and tasted like they turned already and some even had debris. We did happen to taste some ciders too and bought some to take home. Overall, I can't recommend this place because the experience was just off and the wines did not taste good. read more

I've been a wine club members at Sera Fina Cellars for the last couple of years and I still continue to enjoy picking up my quarterly wine shipments. My first experience with Sera Fina was at their Sutter Creek location were Lisa signed us up and has always been my favorite employee to see when we come for a visit. I love Sera Fina for the lack of pretentiousness. My wife has a preference for dessert wines and I like that they have a widr selection that applies to both of us. As part of the wine club they have the monthly pickup which includes food and music of pretty good quality and also a wide selection of ciders provided by Cider Brothers. I highly recommend visiting their Sutter Creek location to see if this is the type of place you would be interested in. read more

I happened upon this place because my mother in law bought a LivingSocial deal and wasn't able to use it. So if course, she gives it to her favorite (only) daughter in law. I am incredibly glad she did, this place was surprising. First off, the people that work here are pretty awesome. Friendly, attentive. And omg, the dogs are always an amazing touch to a tasting room. The wine itself is great. I love their Knucklehead Old Vine Zin. Mmmmmm. And the ciders are delicious! Especially their house infused kind. So refreshing. Absolutely love this winery. Every time we go the winery is fresh and clean always being updated with fun new items or displays. The staff creates the most welcoming, down to earth environment. We love sitting out of the patio and watching the cows in the field next door while we enjoy our tastings. We made reservations at Sera fina to celebrate my daughters 22nd birthday and it was awesome. We were greeted immediately. The two ladies were awesome. (I unfortunately don't remember their names) we felt very welcomed and very attended too. We were able to try 6 different types of wines. We were able to actually choose the ones we wanted which I thought was awesome Considering I'm not a huge fan of red. They also had cider wine to choose from as well. The view was amazing although we sat inside because it was a tad chilly. From start to finish our tasting was seamless. I highly recommend visiting this winery while you are in Amador. Is there a way to leaving a negative review. We use to be members here years ago. Here we got strung into getting another Groupon because I called and talked to someone about not shipping in Texas in May and they said over the phone they would never... well here we are now and being told that they will ship in May... wine will go bad... it will be on us. Crappy customer service and ripped into being here after being told yes come to us and we ship. Being here... they are willing to put bad wine on a customer before the wine ever ships. I will yelp.. They are the new winery on the block. Their space is open and modern with a beautiful view of the surrounding area. They have small tables and chairs inside outside and some nice couches and comfy chairs inside as well. The day we went, they were participating in a local event and had self serve tortilla soup with all the fixings and a cover band playing. Both were enjoyable. The wines were good and the man pouring for us was very friendly. The owner was there and, from what I have heard, is very committed to building a successful business. So far, so good. read more
