Beautiful property. Had a great time. Dog friendly. Great wines. Very friendly. Nice variety during the tasting.

    Se llama Judy!

Snakes on premises warning! Her name is Judy! A group of us went up to Amador wine country to celebrate a friend's 50th birthday. This place was our second out of three stops. There were 7 of us with the oldest in her early mid 30s. As we approached the tasting room there was a woman standing outside. We all thought how nice it was that she was going to greet us. Instead she started pointing at several of us demanding to see IDs. I've been going to wineries since 1987 when I moved to CA. I have never been carded. Next year I will reach half a century. Three of us refused to go in, one because she did not have er ID on her, two because I was so taken aback at the way we were received. There really are signs that say "Snakes on Premises". Well it's true. One of them is called Judy!

Our host Andrew awesome. He answered our question honestly and his a 3rd generation wine owner maker. Very nice place and the best part you get to keep the glass. We will be taking a group here.

It is mechanical here. No presentation, no discussion, no soul. Here's what we are tasting today...hand me the sheet. Do you want to try? Put up a glass. The wine is poured - it sucks. Show me the fancy label that has a vicous dog cartoon on it. Repeat until customer has had all the open bottles. Vicious Red, Vicious Zin and Vicious Petite Sirah. Total Wine and More sells these for $11. Crap in a bottle with any label is still crap. http://www.yelp.com/biz_photos/UjgozfSkf6Q31w3LzwxeNw?select=gxGDNBzZ9gqG7QgBgsN7jQ

This was by far, the best winery experience I HAVE EVER HAD! I really don't think I have had or will ever have an experience like this anywhere else. That place was beautiful and the wine was obviously amazing, but what really set it apart was the exquisite, excellent service. My fiancé and I visited my best friend in Sacramento, and she took us to several wineries. This one however was the most wholesome, fun, and amazing visit....all due to the extraordinary Elaine (don't know how to spell her name). She welcomed us like if we were family and was nothing but kind. Most wineries tend to not pay a lot of attention to younger people that visit, and do not provide detailed conversations or explanations about their wines and vineyards. It's sad and I've become almost used to that kind of mediocre service. Elaine, however, was extremely helpful, nice, and taught us a lot about how to professionally taste wine and appreciate it like an expert, answered all of our amateur questions, and went as far as offering and giving us a humble history lesson and mini tour of the vineyard and her family. She provided superb service and left our party feeling nothing but genuine appreciation and gratitude for Elaine, the vineyard, and their humble beginnings. By the end, she felt like family and we were nothing but grateful for her kindness, help, and attention. And the wine was oh so delicious!!! Please keep in mind, even though I firmly believe this family owned vineyard ALWAYS provides excellent service, the excellent service we received on this particular day was also due to the fact that it was a Tuesday, where not a lot of people were wine tasting; this in turn allowed Elaine to provide a more intimate, detailed, well-rounded experience versus if we had visited during a weekend. Regardless, I recommend this winery and am going as far as saying it's the best in all of California. Truly a hidden gem that deserves all the recognition. Marvelous.

Their Cabernet and Barbera are both very tasty wines and are more true representations of what this winery has to offer as far as big wines in flavor and character.

In my opinion, they are doing so many things to enhance the wine tasting experience, it could blow away the competition. Examples are as follows: 1. Rebuilding, refinishing and updating the tasting room and facility. 2. Hiring the former Sous Chef from Taste restaurant to create food offerings/pairings and provide a small bite sample with wine tasting. 3. Display unique and unusual art in and around the property. (They have seven full size panels from the Berlin Wall adjacent to the tasting room.) 4. Staff is exceptionally friendly, helpful and knowledgeable. 5. The wine pricing is reasonable when compared to the quality. 6. Both the food and wine are excellent. That said, I think the one possible stumbling point could be their attempt to blend in their east coast sister wines and styles with this region. It might be an interesting idea, but I am uncertain people locally will appreciate or understand the effort. The Amador wine region is not Napa Valley, and I don't think it possesses the international appeal, notoriety or demographics that will support the concept of bi-coastal wines. In any event, we will return to further experience the ongoing evolution of this remarkable winery.

I had to show them the email confirmation. It was fine and we were still able to sit down right away. The inside wine tasting room is kind of small but the outdoor patio and area makes up for it. It is quite big and open. I think someone can host an outdoor concert or a wedding. We got to taste about five type of wines (Sauvignon Blanc and few blended red wine). They were all good. I particularly like the 2020 Interlude and purchased a bottle for my sister. We also got to sample from their gallery collection library club that's like 20+ years old ( I forgot the exact year) and that was special. They also have dumplings and spring rolls for purchase. I skip that because I wasn't sure if that would go with the wine. We bought some cheese with us and we had that with our wine. Of course, we asked for permission before bringing in our own cheese and crackers. The gentleman that served us was really nice and friendly. We didn't feel rushed and wine was poured at a good pace. I do want to mention that most winery at Amador will comp at least one tasting with purchase, but not at Di Arie. If you're not a member, be prepared to pay the full wine tasting fee per person.

It's a Terri blend of Cab Sauvignon, Cab Franc, Syrah and Primitivo! The host and hostess were all very friendly and knowledgeable! And of course to meet and chat with the wine maker himself, Chaim, was a wonderful treat! The grounds were small, but very cute and relaxing. It made for a warm, friendly ambiance! Of course we walked away with a case of the Sierra and the 3 OG vintage wines! We're definitely coming back in a few weeks. Thank you Di Arie!
