We stopped at Serda's on our way out of Mobile, and on a Sunday morning there wasn't a whole lot to pick from. But it's cool, because Serda's carried the flame of good food and good service in Mobile. I had a coffee and a sweet chocolate-y pastry. My wife had tea and a similar chocolate-y pastry. Street parking is at a premium and is metered. I'm not sure what weekdays will be like and I am sure most of their traffic is pedestrian traffic. What a neat place. I liked the decor. The aroma of coffee was wonderful. I have never had French press coffee. So I had a pot of the Kenyan blend. Outstanding! I had a bit of Mojiti flavored gelato as a side. My husband and I love coming here for coffee and gelato. If you're staying you can even ask for a real ceramic cup which seems to be harder and harder to find these days. They feature different artist on the wall every few months and have a cozy atmosphere. I'm not a coffee drinker but I'm always in them because of the ladyfriend and 2 teenage daughters. The ladyfriend and I stopped in here twice during our weekend in Mobile due to it's proximity to our hotel. The 1st day we stopped in just to get her coffee fix and I was impressed that they had fountain Coke products. Woohoo, I got to have my Styrofoam insulated sugary, caffeine, carbonated goodness at the same place she got her fix. This never happens so they made me happy. The 2nd visit we decided to eat breakfast and chill before getting on the road. The place has a solid breakfast and lunch menu with various sammichs, breakfast burritos, bagels, muffins, etc. I just got a plain bagel with cream cheese and the ladyfriend got a sausage, egg and cheese burrito. The burrito was pressed in what I assume was the panini maker making it slightly crisp. The waitress did stereotype us as she brought me the burrito and her the bagel. What the fat guy always gets the burrito and the skinny girl gets the bagel?!?! I'm offended!!! Just kidding.
