I learned about this company when they offered discounted lash services through gilt. I booked my appointment at their midtown location as required. However, a few days before my appointment I was asked if I could reschedule to their downtown location. I declined because that location was not convenient for me so my original appointment was kept. The day of the appointment I arrived early for my appointment but the office was closed. I used the contact information to let the company no I was present. I was assured that someone was on there way but they were running late. Initially I was upset about the delay I must admit. But when the tech arrived she was very apologetic and refunded me. Serein spa is INSANE. I've been a longtime client of Serein - everything Chloe touches is magic and this is no exception! Just had my first lymphatic drainage session and am floored at the results. The entire experience was lovely. The studio is so peaceful and super clean. My practitioner, Helen, was so gentle - it was no surprise when she told me at the end of my session that she's been practicing for over 18 years. The massage itself was divine - it began with a full body warmup, then localized lymphatic drainage on my legs, torso, and back, followed by lymphatic drainage massage using a radio frequency device on my stomach. I've not felt this relaxed (or snatched!) in a long time!! Luckily there are full body mirrors in the space because you'll want to take selfies after lol. Very highly recommend. Think I've been coming here for 2 years now. When I first started, I told myself I would take a break every now and then to let my lashes breathe. I haven't taken a single break and it's because I'm totally addicted and Chloe and her team are really great about making recommendations to make sure I don't damage my natural lashes. They had me start applying serum and toner to my lashes and it's made a huge difference. When I have a fancy event coming up, I let them know and we'll do something that pops a bit more. For my day-to-day, we go with a more natural look. The space itself is PRISTINE and pretty. Very instagrammable in my opinion. It always smells great and they are playing soothing music for a very spa-like atmosphere. So far, I've had my lashes done by Chloe herself, Daisy, and recently I had Amy. Whoever I get, I've been so happy with how my lashes turn out. At the end of the appointment, the first thing they do is hand you a mirror to check it out and at the beginning of each appointment, they always confirm if you want the same as last time or want to change anything up. I always appreciate this because if I mention I want them to pop more, they will offer great suggestions. I get endless compliments on my lashes. I highly recommend doing the Serein membership, where you pay a higher price upfront for credit and receive bonus credit. I was sheepish in the beginning and went for one of the lower amounts, but now that I know I'm addicted, I spring for the higher amounts because the more you spend now, the more credit they give you. As part of the membership, you also receive 30% off every 5th visit. Chloe is incredibly responsive and I've never had trouble getting my desired appointment date because she has two locations and has multiple staff members. Scheduling is very easy and they always send a reminder text a couple days before so you have the opportunity to reschedule or confirm as needed. read more

Slightly disappointed with customer service. I had an appointment with Chloe and told the only woman there that it was with Chloe. She said "OK" and finished up her client. I waited in the very clean and pretty apartment space (i was early) expecting Chloe to show up. She never did and this woman who spoke barely any English did. This was last week and I don't remember her name I think it started with an L. I saw the glowing reviews from Chloe and expected to see her. The process was OK. I got the 20% off new customer special. She kind of poked me a couple times I said that it hurt and she said "it's fine" When it was time to give the tip, she made me wait there to Venmo it to her. This made me extremely uncomfortable. Then she asked "why the low tip?" Even though it was 15% of my $100 deal. She expected me to give her a $25-$30 tip (she showed me a chart) I wanted to wait to write this review to see how my lashes were holding up. So far it's been a week and only three have came out. Chloe is amazing, quality lashes and an amazing application. The space is comfortable and quiet and clean. I did my research before coming in to Serein and have been pleased with the results. I've taken one star off because their pricing structure is super confusing and the specials that they have are constantly changing, so if you buy a membership or package you may or may not end up getting a good deal (I bought the $500 get $600 in credit but the next month they had a much better package, buy $300 get $450 credit). They ask you to tip on the non-member price anyway, so you're spending a pretty penny for every refill in comparison to other places that I've seen in New York (3 week refill member price - $80 + $18 mandatory 20% tip = $98 every 3 weeks). I will see how I feel after I run out my package on whether I'll continue just based on the exorbitant prices and fluctuating deals. read more

It was my first time getting lash extensions. I really enjoyed the experience. The place was really beautiful and the bed was extremely comfy that I fell asleep. But I'm pretty disappointed at how the lashes are holding up. I posted before and after pictures from when I got my lashes done yesterday to this morning. Yesterday evening, I noticed that a few fell out. I'm not sure if I slept very aggressively or this is usual, but by this morning about 1/3 was gone! It looks really patchy now.I didn't shower or wear makeup yet, and I was careful with washing my face to use a towel and not get any water on my eyes. To be honest, I'm just afraid to wear any makeup at all even though Amy said I could use a water based remover. I was testing out lash extensions for my wedding/bridal shower.. but now I'm on the fence on whether I should get them at all if they don't last. - update: appreciated Chloe reaching out to help find a solution to this including using more glue or a different lash type! read more

They just moved to a new location, which bright and clean. They have a membership pricing structure where you basically pay ahead to use on your following sessions. In my opinion, do not purchase Groupon voucher to use at Serein. I feel like the service was sub par because of I used the voucher for Papillion. Definitely a "you get what you pay for" situation. I received a consultation and went for flat lashes. When asked what length I wanted, I said I don't remember what I usually chose for length size since I trusted my former eyelash technician to create a look that looked good on me. I did tell the Serein technician that the lengths differed so the inner corner of my eyes were shorter, then it would fan out with longer lashes, until a cat eye effect was created at both outer ends of my eyes. She asked if i wanted a cat eye look and i said yes. When the technician was done and I looked in the mirror, all the lengths of the eyelash extensions were the same across my eyes. Also, I did not receive a cat eye effect. And honestly, I don't think I had 100 eye lash extensions placed on each eye. I've been getting eyelash extensions for almost 2 years now and I can tell how many lashes would look on me at this point. I scheduled the same day I wanted to go, but they texted me not too long to ask if I can come a couple of hours earlier or an hour later to the salon, since the technician who was supposed to do my lashes needed to go somewhere. While the technician was doing my lashes she said I should schedule for a touch up in 2 weeks since she herself is not very good at putting eyelashes on my eye shape. Her co worker would've been better suited to do the eyelash extensions on me. I found out soon that that technician was the one who had to leave the time I originally scheduled the appointment for. The technician was overall kind and professional but one thing that was off-putting was when it came time to pay, she puts a small, laminated table with tip percent to dollars conversion. She just placed it there and said nothing. I understand that in this field, tipping is the norm and of course i was going to tip her for her service, but it just all became this money transaction situation. She just came across as a technician who sees me as another dollar sign. The personable, customer service feel was gone. I won't be going back and the search for my go-to eyelash extension salon continues. Like I said before, I probably should have not used Groupon and just gone as a full paying client. And I wish she suggested I reschedule again to have my lashes done by her co worker, if it is true that her co worker does a better job with my kind of eye shape. This time I went for a 4 week touch up and even she was surprised at how long they lasted. I also love that they use venmo so I never have to worry about having cash on me to tip. Chloe responds so quickly if you ever have any issues with your lashes and actually addresses them appropriately. Had a groupon for The Serein Canari lash extensions. This is for 80 lashes per eye. You pick length, curve, style and thickness. My lashes were done by Daisy. She was very nice. The bed, which is usually hard, was pretty comfortable. My lashes came out nice but sparse. I don't think I got the 80. It looks more like 60. I was also surprised to have a bit of lid sticking.
