When I was told to sit down, Rekha proceeded to take a lot of photos of my face, and though there is a sign on the wall stating that these pictures are for educational purposes, I felt much more like a marketing tool than a valued client. I immediately noticed her using the same, unwashed brush on my face that she had used on her previous client. She talked herself up a lot and made some insensitive comments about how next time I could be "brave" and have my upper lip done. She also interrupted my service about halfway through to take care of a quick walk-in, which, again, wouldn't be a huge deal if she had been more polite about it. The end of the service felt rushed to me, which was probably because there was a long line of people waiting. Rekha had apparently booked two clients for the same appointment slot and also told a few others who had called that she had time for walk-ins. I know that mistakes happen, but she really didn't seem to care much, and it was very chaotic. Water results came back in, our water Ph, iron levels, etc were better than that of city water... so I'm not sure that my well is to be blamed for how wrecked my hair came out leaving this salon when I've had well water my whole life and my hair never ended up this tangled in my life. I rearranged my entire schedule to come back the next day, they shampooed me, and my hair was dark and ashy... surprise surprise. Disappointed yet again. I went to 2 other highly rated salons in the area to get a consult and another opinion, needless to say they completely disagreed with studio 101 assessment of my hair and did not think my hair had any damage from well water and I showed them the results from our water test. I thought they would definitely be able to give me the edgy haircut I've been looking for- a chin length shagged wolf cut. I submitted on online consult form and didn't hear back. A week later I called and left a message. After getting no response and waiting another week I emailed them on instagram and then *finally* got in touch. I had an in person consult with Kseniya and brought photos of what I was looking for, as well as photos of myself with my most favorite haircut. I came in for the appointment and was more definitive of what I was looking for-which was my previous haircut a chin length layered bob with an A line. I showed her pictures of the cut and color and...... promptly had my hair poorly dyed and hacked off nearly to the scalp. I had over a foot and a half of curly hair. After the first cut I realized Kseniya did not understand curly hair and I didn't know what to do. The first cut with my wet hair was at my cheekbone- Do I jump out of the chair with half a haircut? I should have. I don't understand the disconnect with the salon and their Instagram. I was looking for a chin length edgy modern bob for my curly hair. What I got is pretty darn near a buzz cut (she did, in fact, use clippers on the back) and the dye didn't even take at the nape of my neck. It's less than an inch long on the back and 4 inches in the front (when stretched- with the curls it is about 2-3 inches). It's so short in the back that my scalp is exposed and the cut in the front is uneven with the hair longer on the side with the part. It's the worst haircut I have ever had in my entire life and is going to take at least 6 months for it to grow to the length I was asking for. There is no "fixing" this. I am due a refund for this awful hack job and am flabbergasted by the lack of professionalism of this salon- literally ghosting an unhappy customer. Are we still in high school?
