We called more than a dozen assisted living and memory care facilities and personally toured six different communities within approximately 15 miles of Corona. We carefully evaluated facilities ranging from large corporate-operated communities to smaller residential care homes. After all of our research and visits, we chose Ohana Assisted Living--and we are absolutely happy with our decision. Finding the right home for a loved one with dementia is one of the most difficult choices a family can make. From the moment my father arrived, the staff at Ohana made him feel safe, respected, and genuinely cared for. They treat him with dignity, patience, and kindness every day. The caregivers are attentive to his individual needs and have done an outstanding job managing the challenges associated with dementia while helping him maintain the highest possible quality of life. They communicate well with our family, keep us informed, and consistently demonstrate a level of professionalism and compassion that gives us tremendous peace of mind. What also sets Ohana apart is the owner and manager. In many facilities, management can feel removed from the day-to-day care of residents, but that has not been our experience at Ohana. The owner is every bit as caring, compassionate, and involved as the caregivers themselves. Her knowledge and expertise in dementia care are evident in everything from the way residents are cared for to the guidance and reassurance she provides to families. Knowing that someone with a strong dementia care background is overseeing the community gives us an additional level of confidence and comfort. Another thing we greatly appreciate is the effort Ohana makes to create a true sense of community and family. They celebrate residents' birthdays and major holidays throughout the year and often invite family members and friends to participate. These gatherings create meaningful moments for residents and their loved ones and help maintain important family connections. It is clear that Ohana understands that quality of life is about much more than just meeting physical needs--it is about creating joy, dignity, and a sense of belonging. I felt the caregivers and the owners were attentive, compassionate, and very aware of each resident's needs. They also made a point to communicate with our family and accommodate anything my mother needed. My father said "after visiting and responding to dozens of care facilities, as a professional firefighter, I would rate this one at the top". They have visiting hours every day, they provide food for their residents, help them bathe, get them dressed. Our loved ones could have their own room or share a room with another resident. They have the living room area where our loved ones can socialize. They had a lady over 100 years old in their care and she seemed very happy. All of the residents are friendly to the visitors that come. When my grandma was nearing the end of her life, her caregiver Matthew was so gentle and kind. He notified us every moment regarding her status and let us know that it was time to visit. If he didn't take the extra step, I may not have been able to say goodbye. She passed peacefully in their care. The actual facility is a house on a quiet little street. It's quaint and the residents in this home get to know each other and become friends.

He has gone from having just a donut for breakfast to having scrambled eggs, pancakes, bacon, and juice--every day! The food choices are always amazing, and in one month, there has never been a day he has been disappointed with the options. Plus, he has met new friends he sits with at meals. The home is located in a beautiful gated community in the hills overlooking Riverside. Bianca only accepts six (6) clients therefore can provide each resident with personalized care. Upon entering the home you will immediate notice how clean it looks and the fresh smell of a well maintained facility. The residents are up in chairs or ambulating, Bianca does not allow them to be isolated in their rooms. She has mostly private rooms but also a room that accommodates double occupancy. The home has a beautiful covered patio for residents to spend time outdoors if weather permits. Meals were served at a community table, so residents can interact during meals (once again avoiding isolation). The meals are prepared with fresh, healthy ingredients and presented to the residents as a family meal with the staff monitoring each residents dietary intake. Our mother was always well groomed, her hair washed/combed, nails (hands/feet) trimmed, clean. Her skin was well attended to without skin tears or pressure marks. Her clothing was fresh and changed daily. Her bedding was always clean and fresh (no malodor as you find in many facilities). Bianca has well trained, professional staff onsite 24/7. They were always polite, helpful and never made us feel that they did not have time to answer questions or attend to our request. Her staff is stable and did not notice any staff turnover. As our mother's health deteriorated Bianca helped us arrange Hospice Care. The hospice provider was always attentive and provided us with regular updates, so we always felt informed of her status. In the final days we were able to be with her as much as we desired with staff providing caring supportive attention. In summary if you are in need of a facility for your loved one it is hard to imagine finding a home that can provide higher quality, compassionate care than Bianca's Home Care. Our family can only thank Bianca and staff for helping us with such compassion, dignity and respect thru this end of life experience.
