Irina was lovely, and my brazillian was relatively painless as far as waxes go, but for some reason my hair grew back within seven days. Hmm. Her technique seemed good, and I was comfortable with her the entire time, but typically a wax should last 3-4 weeks. Either the hairs were broken and not removed from the roots, or else I have started to grow hair at a ridiculous speed. Sadness! I really wanted to like Serenity. read more

Clean and quiet place. The lady's at Serenity are very attentive to your requests. My fiance wanted a manicure on top of his pedi and they squeezed him in even though they were booked solid. I wasn't overwhelmingly wowed by the pedicure that I got, but maybe after reading all the reviews I was expecting something amazing. However, I will be returning because it is by far the best place in and close to Williamsburg. They are clean, fairly priced, attentive, polite, and do a good job. I'd also bring your own nail polish they didn't seem to have as many color selections as I have seen other places. read more

My first and only brazillian wax place. She was quick and friendly. It's a little pricy but I get one every 1.5 month so is fine.

Was just in for a pedicure. Anna, who is there everyday (Mon-Sat), was wonderful. I'm so lucky to live 4 blocks away!

I like this place a lot and I normally try to avoid Williamsburg at all costs. It seems very clean and I've enjoyed treatments there but I am still quite loyal to Body By Brooklyn mainly because they have the wet lounge with hot tub, steam room, sauna and a full bar. Not only a soothing environment without "trying too hard", the care my technician took to clean my nails and apply the polish perfectly was exceptional. I needed a Brazilian done ASAP. Im getting married in two days and it was urgent. I was able to get an appointment for the same day I called. The parking in the area where the spa is located is horrible. Spent 15 minutes driving around. I was told that my appt time was 2:30 but when I arrived at 2:35 they said I was late. It was written as 2:15! Her next appt was already there. Thankfully she was able to do my Brazilian but rushed through it, which I didn't appreciate. There where still some hairs when I got home. Not cool for my wedding nite and honeymoon. Irina is very good at what she does. She's quick, and painless. She's pleasant but again she rushed through the whole experience. Maybe I'll try again, maybe not. Didn't like being rushed for a reason that was not my fault. The price is reasonable $45 bucks. If you pay cash no tax is charged. read more

I've been going here for years for my threading and brazilian waxes. Irina, Anna and Eera (spelling) are so great and treat everyone like family. They may come across as stand-offish at first visit, but they are definitely not! I think their prices are fair for a very clean, well run business. I think Irina can do my Brazilian in less than 10 minutes, making me feel super comfortable the entire time! Sure, you can find cheaper (it's NY, after all), but you definitely won't get the same service and quality of care. I think the mani/pedis are a little overpriced given that they don't feel that much more luxurious than the Chinese place I go to which charges less than the just cost of the manicure at Serenity... It's definitely a 5 star place to get beautified, especially given the great ladies that work there! read more

This is the first time I have ever tried a Brazilian Wax and I'm hooked. I will be going back again. I couldn't believe how clean and smooth it was down there. Not to mention my man could not get enough of me when I got home......the sex was so damn good. For that alone will forever get a BRAZILIAN WAX. I have you say they were very clean and inviting. Ok, so I went here based on all the excellent reviews of the Brazilian wax service. It's a small place, but clean and they were always nice enough to see me without an appointment. Irena (sp?) is the sweetest and most gentle woman you want to meet, but you definitely don't want to see her more than you have to. Though my naught bits were in tact when I left, my hair grew back after a week :(. I saw her 3 times for the service and each time, it grew back much quicker than I would have liked; so unfortunately, I must find a new woman for my services. read more

Service: Brazilian from Irina Atmosphere: tidy, small staff, quiet. Room was decent size, bright, professional looking. Aesthetician: Irina -- she was friendly, perfect amount of chatty but not overly so. Asked if I was satisfied, asked along the way for my preferences on what I wanted done, which was nice (once you wax it, it's gone!). Wax: They didn't have any hard wax, so they used the traditional soft wax with strips. I find that this is more painful and irritating if you have sensitive skin, which I do. Though the wax-strips were more painful, they were not unreasonably so. I may be mistaken, but I think that Irina may have double dipped with the wax stick, as I only saw one on the table when I was done. This is less than ideal, but what ever, the wax is so hot that I'm sure it kills anything transmittable from person to person (I hope!). Also -- I could very much be mistaken about what I saw. Irina was very meticulous, did not miss much with the wax and went after anything she miss did with a tweezer. Length of time: I waited for a few minutes when I got there (which Irina thanked me for). All in all, the trip took about 25 minutes. Price/payment: The wax was 45, or 47 with tax when you want to charge it on a card. The annoying thing is that they do not allow you to add tip on a credit card, but luckily I had some cash on hand. Verdict: I would go here again, but I wish they'd get some hard wax (willing to pay extra)! read more
