I would give five stars but management is not the best so I took off one. I have been a patron at this location since it opened two years ago (literally visited the weekend it opened). Prior to this location, I was a customer at the location near Union Square for about 4 years but thankfully, the Williamsburg location is closer to my home so I switched. I started out going to Shivani who went out on maternity leave and recommended Emely so I have been going to her for over a year now. Emely is amazing! She's very good at her job but she's also friendly and attentive. I have made it clear that the products aren't the best for my skin so I only buy the body butter. As a result, she does not push me to purchase products which can be frustrating to constantly have products pushed on you. If Emely leaves, I'm going wherever she goes! read more

Im writing this review on behalf of a friend that had a terrible experiences at this location on July 31st and was treated by a Russian woman named Albina. She is an overweight woman with short hair. My friend called me crying after being waxed by her. The first thing albina said to her when she walked in was "where are you from?" My friend is Palestinian, so when she said she was, albina continued for the entire session to proceed to say to my friend disgusting, terrible, uneducated opinions on politics and religion. She asked intrusive questions and argued with my friend, while my friend was spread eagle and vulnerable on the table getting waxed. This is another example of terrible, uneducated white Europeans and Americans that just think they can say whatever they've been reading their whole lives, with zero consequence. Palestinians are not responsible for the miss-education of white Europeans in this country. Albina also didn't provide any type of cooling or oil support after the wax, nor did she tweeze out any ingrown hairs, and didn't do a good job, proving this racist encounter further. Do not go to European wax center, there are a million other brown waxers in NY that won't make you cry, and actually do the job right. Albina, you deserve to be fired. read more

Very professional staff and all rooms are individualized and private for the customer. What is so good about this place is that they do no redip sticks at all like those other salons I be seeing redipping and using scissors and tweezers without dipping into the blue alcohol. This place is very sanitary and everything is new and disposable. Their scissors and tweezers are in blue alcohol so you can rest assure. Staff attended me was very professional and fast at what she was doing. I had to get some hair off and she did it alright. There were some hairs that couldn't come off due to ingrown hairs and a short length. She did tweeze some of them after waxing. They put baby powder on before you get into the waxing. Afterwards they apply cream. Luckily my skin isn't red when they finish the procedure so they do a nice job. read more

for 77$ for a brazlian im wondering if its worth it. the sessions are always quick but within a week im already starting to grow hair back which is rare for me (ive been getting waxings for over 12 years). the last time i went the women waxed my pevlis/lower belly (right above my pubes) which was already super smooth and hairless..now i feel it has instigated hair growth (arg). now its bumpy. unsure why they would wax a spot i am absolutely hairless. when she put the wax down i then noticed and was too late. unsure if this place is worth it tbh...if it was perfect for $77 i would but im coming back with new hair growth in areas ive never had hair before and thats rly annoying/frustrating' mind you my yelp profile is pseudonym as well as im sure they will try to look up who i had in the system (fyi) read more

This place was a scam and was not good at all. For my first time going i was supposed to receive a Brazilian wax for $36 i ended up paying $70 total because of a bunch of nonsense they said was added after the fact. Also the lady who waxed me was horrible she had to keep doing it over and over because she wasn't catching all the hair. My experience was horrible and i would not recommend this place read more

I was thrilled when a EWC finally opened up in Williamsburg, but after 4 or 5 total visits now, I have been extremely disappointed every time and will not be returning. I have seen a different wax specialist every time I have been here, and each time, they have been extremely rude and even condescending at my requests for my service. Last time I was here, I saw Jada who came in from her break to my appointment 20 minutes late screaming at the front desk receptionist (extremely nice) and made no apologies for the lateness and making me wait. When making a simple request for her to tweeze a few extra eyebrow hairs left behind from my wax, I got reprimanded for the request because "she didn't have her tool kit with her." My bad for the outrageous request after paying $25 and tipping you for an eyebrow wax. This last visit, I asked my specialist to please trim down my eyebrows (extremely common in all my experiences at EWC), and she literally laughed at me and said "Um really? Why would you do that?" If you have advice on eyebrow shape, please share your professional opinion, but not in a way where you are making fun of my request in the process. I have only ever had positive experiences in my many years going to EWC and any "issue" with a wax specialist not being the friendliest etc. had been extremely minor. I have only ever experienced genuinely nice people who are professional and well trained. This location seems to have missed the memo on meeting those two criteria. In my humble opinion, I'd recommend going out of your way to a further location to avoid this one and have a much better experience. read more

I used to go to EWC in Manhattan for year and always had a very good experience. I wanted to try this location for the first time since it's closer to where I live and it was not a good experience. I want to start with the only positive part of the appointment, my waxer had a lovely personality and was very kind but unfortunately she was incredibly inexperienced. The appointment took way longer than a normal wax appointment and was way more painful than any past appointment I've had. She went over the same areas 5-6 times, which is unusual and made the appointment very uncomfortable. I had enough hair growth, so an experienced waxer would have been able to get it all done with ease. I was also left with little pieces wax all over at the end of the appointment and was sent home that way. The worst part is that a week later i had significant amount of hair which shows that most of the hair was broken instead of ripped from the root. This is pretty unusual for me and I've been waxing regularly. Although I've had good experiences with EWC in the past, I won't be returning to this location. read more

I did not have a great experience at this location, though I've been satisfied with other EWCs in the past. When I arrived, I (and two other customers) had to wait outside (in the cold) for no apparent reason. I then received an email saying my appointment had been rescheduled for 15 minutes from that time, though I received no call in advance or explanation in person about that. Once there, I was asked to go to a room that had not yet been sanitized, and the professional was sanitizing as I was changing. There were other clean rooms, and I was not sure why I had to be in the one dirty room. The floors are also very dirty, and it did not feel great being barefoot in the room. All in all, I left feeling a bit shortchanged about my experience, and it is not likely I will return. read more

This is a pretty new location and I've visited several times as it's the closest one to me, but unfortunately I've been disappointed every single time. All of the waxers are clearly brand new and undertrained. Their technique applying and removing the wax isn't correctly done based on my experiences at other centers, and sessions take a lot longer too. I also always end up with some sections of hair left over that I notice after I leave the center. While the waxers and receptionists are generally nice, this location is an overall miss for me. read more
