Brussel Sprouts
Angela R.

We went here for dinner last night. Overall, it was very good. We sat inside by the window which was nice. My husband ordered a flight of beers so we could try several of them. They were all good. We ordered some Brussel sprouts for an appetizer but they came out with the meal instead. I liked the Brussel sprouts but my husband thought they were over cooked. He ordered the salmon which he liked. I ordered the classic burger. It was very good. I ordered it without onions but it still had onions on it. They were rings so I could pull them off fairly easy. It had a sauce on it that must have had horseradish in it which got me a few times. It must have been in the beer mustard. I like horseradish but something to know just in case you are not a fan because the menu did not call that out. The servers were very friendly, checked on us multiple times, and refilled our drinks. One of the reasons we sat inside was to avoid the bugs outside. As it turned out, we still had a fly at our table the whole time. Not much they could do about that, maybe have a bug zapper somewhere.

Great foodie brewery! Low key setting. Large selection of beer and mixed drinks. It's not just typical food you would associate with a brewery. Started off with fried cauliflower, it was amazing in a sweet and sour type sauce. Finished with a perfectly done hamburger with bacon and shoe string fried onions. Very tasty. Had to order fries to go with. Really cool place with great food.

Love this place! I don't go too often, but when I do, I'm never disappointed. I went for a lunch bite and a beer, and left very happy. I got the Bier Burger, which has a juicy burger, beer cheese, as a giant onion ring, with a side of grits-- YUM! plus an ice cold Italian Disco of course. Always helpful and friendly service and staff. It always feels welcoming and comfortable when you're in there, which I love. Highly recommend checking it out!

Apps are $3 until 3. This includes bowls of chili or soup . Definitely home made and absolutely delicious . Nice serving size . Server was friendly and checked to see if we needed anything a lot. There was a small size crowd but it was still relatively quiet . On street parking may be an issue at times but we had no trouble finding a close spot .

I didn't eat any food, only came in for the beer. I will say that they have a nice selection and the staff was very friendly and knowledgeable about their beer

I think Monnik is one of the more unique breweries in town. The cafe-style seating on the street makes for a delightful experience. The inside feels more like a restaurant than a brewery. And on top of that, instead of outsourcing food or relying on pizza, they have a very diverse menu. I have been to Monnik several times, but this was my first time enjoying a meal. I ordered a beer to start, of course, along with a Bier Burger. It's a bit of sticker shock to pay $22 for a burger and fries, but my stomach was very happy. The beer was very solid and the burger was filling. I left feeling pretty satisfied and ready to face the day. I don't make it to this brewery enough because there are ones closer to my house, but I always have a nice time. While I do feel there are better breweries and certainly better restaurants, if you're looking for a place that satisfies a craving for good beer and good food, Monnik is a good choice.

This is my favorite brewery and Pub too. I have often attended for their best beers. Their foods are excellent. However, I have discovered that they had new chef and change the menu. I decided to give a try. I will definitely come back fo3 more menu items to try! I ordcred the fried chicken sandwich. It was top notched I ever had. It is not too spicy. It is just the right amount of spicy. The chicken was moist and the breading was good. I wish I could order different side but I was in mood for fries. I saw one item that I am curious to try was Koren Fries Cauliflower. Thats the reason I will come back to try it. Come and try this fabulous Chef Wes's menu!

Very dimly let inside, but gave a retro trendy vibe. Servers were really nice and the service was good. Unfortunately the food was very bland. Not much flavor at all. The burger tasted like plain hamburger meat and the fries were the same. The "pretzel" was more like a fluffy breadstick. Definitely could see the potential, but doubt I'd be back. Expensive for what it is too.

Went to Monnik for the first time last night and loved it. It was the perfect night to sit outside and enjoy some drinks and good food. They have about 10 tables outside kind of on the sidewalk next to them and you can order at the bar and get your food taken out to you. They have a ton of drink and food options on their menu so it was hard to decide what to get! I started off by trying their Spaghett which I've heard of and have been wanting to try. I got it with the Czech Lager, and it also had Aperol and lemon and was light, citrusy, and had just a hint of sweetness. The app I ordered came out very quickly - the Korean Fries Cauliflower. At first bite I really thought I could've been biting into an actual wing. It had a great mix of sweet and spiciness and the breading was perfectly soft with a tiny bit of crunch. I also got the Ahi Tuna with Kimchi which also had some cucumbers and mushrooms and a nice chili sauce that paired the ingredients together very well.

Big fan of the side options here including sides such as choux. Service has been good 4 out of my 5 visits to Monnik over a few years.

There are also picnic tables out front. You get a faint whiff of the grill/smoker upon entering. Kylie was our bartender and she was fabulous - knowledgeable, friendly, and answered all of our questions with patience. Wife ordered a mango margarita and doesn't like a lot of tequila, so Kylie went half and gave her a shot on the side in case she wanted to add more. It was wonderful. I had a couple of beers. We started with the fried mushrooms, which aren't what you would expect. It's two large portobellos cut into chunks, battered, fried, and served with sun-dried tomato mayo. They were great. I then ordered a duck taco, brisket taco, and a side of Grippo Fries with smoked mayo. I'd never tried duck but that taco was smack-a-lackin'. The brisket taco was also good, and the fries were fantastic - sweet and spicy, fresh cut, and crispy. Wife ordered a pork belly slider and truffle fries. She enjoyed the slider but didn't care for the fries - just not her thing. The portions here are large. A side of fries will feed three people. We took a hefty portion of them home, as well as some of the mushrooms. We could've sat there at the bar and spent 3 hours socializing and enjoying a smattering of cocktails - love the setting. Look forward to going back and trying one of the burgers at some point.

Well I'd classify this place as a dive bar in the sense of the word. It's definitely not 4 star…read morenoted and maybe not the best exclusive signage and overall 4 star appeal; but it a diamond in the rough, persa. This place is quaint, nice location (on a corner ) decent seating, not a big outdoor dining area, the bar is long and has the memories of the old day saloon. Now the food; terribly good! Menu isn't extensive but good items and variety that will satisfy anyone's appetite. It was Father's Day but as soon as it opened they were quickly filled with patrons and people kept coming; even waiting to get in. The fries in duck fat were awesome. Since so many baskets of fries like this for a long time. The smoked wings are great, meaty and savory. I had the pork belly tacos; my only disappointment was you only get 2 per order. The fine combination of ingredients were splendid and the pork belly so tender. My wife had the bbq pork sandwich on pretzel bun. Very good tasting and this was with no bbq sauce on it. If you're in the area, do yourself a a favor and stop in. I can't wait to go back ( as we live in southern Indiana) so might be a bit but definitely want to try a few other items.

There were 4 of us in our party and we were seated at a table in the corner near the bar. Was definitely a cozy spot with so many people being in there and the bar being full. I had The Holy Ghost cocktail and it was a pomegranate hibiscus sour, it had just the right amount of sour! I do not like bitter drinks and this one was good and easy to drink. My husband had a couple of dark beers, I do not remember which ones but he liked them. They had a nice outdoor area but it was a bit too cool for that but it may be worth a return in the Spring to check it out. Bathroom was also really cool as the decor and theme spilled over into it. It's creative with a sense of joy, irreverent, one of a kind. And I'm happy to see it last in its spot next to Slugger Field. I got to visit recently when a bunch of friends were in town. I got The Smokehouse OG, which is its pulled pork sandwich served on a Cuban roll. If you like pulled pork, you'll like this sandwich, though typical to their fashion, AtG puts a twist on it with its Brown Note BBQ Sauce. We had to get the pork belly on a stick -- a menu fave.
