Tons of outdoor seating. Perfect for large groups. The ambiance is perfect for gathering with friends or just people watching on a sunny day. Food was just mediocre, nothing fabulous. We tried the ham and cheese plate, oysters, olives and corn pinwheels. I liked the corn pinwheels the best even though it's a little early for corn. The concept and flavors are mirrored to street corn. The server was friendly and attentive.

Our next stop on our quest to get "soused" was Garage Bar for another drink and a small bite to eat, as we were going to have dinner later, but we didn't want to get too soused... yet. To drink, I had an Old Fashioned and Bruce had a Basil Gimlet. To eat, we shared a Margherita pizza which was very tasty -- much better than I was expecting! We weren't there for long, but we enjoyed what we ate and drank. I'd go back! [Yelp collections: Louisville/Indianapolis 2023; Louisville, KY 2023]

DONT GO HERE. If I could rate zero stars I would. The "bar" had FOUR people and somehow the middle of the pizza was RAW. I shouldn't even say raw I would say it looks translucent and radioactive. Papa John's is BETTER AND CHEAPER than this.

Stopped in here for a photo op during a tour of NuLu. The art installation out front is ever changing with the 2 cars placed on a hydraulic track to slowly crush each other. Plan to return soon to further explore the venue.

Our second stop and we had a super time here becauuse how could you not? The Garage Bar is appropriately named as it is a converted service station with the dining room inside where cars were probably lifted up for oil changes and repairs, the outside where the pumps used to be. It's an interesting vibe and on a hot summer day, we sat inside. Warmly welcomed, we placed drink orders and a pizza to share. The margarita pizza didn't take long. Tasty, fresh and topped appropriately with cheese and a piece of basil for each slice. Very flavorful. For my drink, the basil gimlet caught my eye. A little spicy, a lot of booze and freshingly chilling on this hot day. When the drinks were done, we headed onwards to a full dinner but this was fun! The Garage bar is a super chill restaurant located in the NULU area of downtown Louisville. It's a converted automotive garage turned restaurant that is comfy and inviting. The vibe of the garage is still present through the former cars bays (now windows that open up for outside, the outdoor seating area is situated where cars would usually enter the car bays and the hostess area is the former lobby/waiting area for work to be completed. The service is über nice and inviting. They checked up at the right times and were helpful in food and drink choices. They are mostly known for their pizza so we ordered a good variety to taste. The bison pizza, pepperoni and their cheeses bread. We also ordered their meatballs and fried beets (yeah I thought the same...fried beets??) which were pretty tasty. I would definitely go back for the casual atmosphere, the good food and the proximity to my hotel (steps from the AC Hotel)

If it's summer you absolutely should be here sitting outside. But it also has to be noted their take out team are superstars. Incredibly kind staff over the phone & you can order far ahead of time! The margarita pizza is truly mouth watering. I truly love it.

Garage Bar came as a recommendation from our Uber driver, and we were glad that he called it out to us. We stopped by after dinner and decided to sit inside at the bar that was now housed in what was historically an auto body shop. In addition to the indoor area with the bar, several tables, and their pizza oven, there was an outdoor yard with picnic tables and ping pong. Both areas were perfect for larger groups that would want to hang out for a bit. Speaking of, we sat at the bar for a good deal of time, mingling with other patrons and enjoying our drinks. I just opted for a Passion Fruit High Noon, but I did sample my boyfriend's District Eight cocktail, which included bourbon, orange, house tonic, lemon, and angostura. It was very citrusy and refreshing, but also had a generous dose of bitters. Garage Bar was unique, enjoyable, and worth a visit.

There were 4 of us in our party and we were seated at a table in the corner near the bar. Was definitely a cozy spot with so many people being in there and the bar being full. I had The Holy Ghost cocktail and it was a pomegranate hibiscus sour, it had just the right amount of sour! I do not like bitter drinks and this one was good and easy to drink. My husband had a couple of dark beers, I do not remember which ones but he liked them. They had a nice outdoor area but it was a bit too cool for that but it may be worth a return in the Spring to check it out. Bathroom was also really cool as the decor and theme spilled over into it. We will be back.

I love eggs but hate a runny yolk. I informed our server and watched her customized my burger (fry the egg hard please). As soon as the burger arrived, I knew I wasn't going to eat it. There was runny yolk on the side (gag reflex). I informed our waitress who was very apologetic about it. She asked the kitchen and they said they would remake it, but I opted for another burger (le sigh). Because they were so busy and hadn't started making my order, we just decided to pay for our drinks eat somewhere else after the game. The server was great, but our experience wasn't.

Wife ordered a mango margarita and doesn't like a lot of tequila, so Kylie went half and gave her a shot on the side in case she wanted to add more. It was wonderful. I had a couple of beers. We started with the fried mushrooms, which aren't what you would expect. It's two large portobellos cut into chunks, battered, fried, and served with sun-dried tomato mayo. They were great. I then ordered a duck taco, brisket taco, and a side of Grippo Fries with smoked mayo. I'd never tried duck but that taco was smack-a-lackin'. The brisket taco was also good, and the fries were fantastic - sweet and spicy, fresh cut, and crispy. Wife ordered a pork belly slider and truffle fries. She enjoyed the slider but didn't care for the fries - just not her thing. The portions here are large. A side of fries will feed three people. We took a hefty portion of them home, as well as some of the mushrooms. We could've sat there at the bar and spent 3 hours socializing and enjoying a smattering of cocktails - love the setting. Look forward to going back and trying one of the burgers at some point.

This isn't a mouth scorching, heartburn inducing culinary dare, but quite simply a perfectly delivered burger with toppings that work well together to deliver a robust flavor with a nice touch of heat. Being my first time in Kentucky I asked for a recommendation for a nice shot of bourbon to sip while I waited for my meal, with the caveats that I'd like for it to be from a lesser known, small distiller and under $25 for the drink. He delivered with a shot of Minor Case Straight Rye Whiskey that has a sherry cask finish from Limestone Branch Distillery. It was smooth with no bite and a nice linger. Three solid hits between the burger, bourbon and bartender - would definitely recommend.
