We stopped by here for a quick drink and an appetizer to tide us over on the way to a downtown event. We shared a Reuben wonton appetizer with the spicy 1000 Island sauce and it was okay. I would have preferred the wonton to be a bit crisper, but the flavors were good. Waitstaff are very friendly and welcoming. read more

You cannot go wrong with O'Shea's - a little something, for everyone! Whether you're looking for a proper meal or just something to snack on, the food is great! They alsos have an extensive drink menu. It's a large location so even if it's busy, chances are you'll still find somewhere to nestle into for your stay. Mostly "covered" in hard wood & brick it really has a cozy pup feel. From the greeter who met us at at the door, the bartenders, servers... everyone is great! Very personable. I did not try the food. Bourbon whiskey neat would be hard to mess up. They had my two favorites, and served it up quick. But I give this place 5 stars because I really like the vibe. The decor is a bit eclectic, but very fun, and the Staff was super friendly. I was greeted on entry, served promptly by one guy, but then checked on by every member of the staff as they moved through my area. I was a one-time stranger in town one night, ducked in during a torrential rain storm, sitting in a booth by myself... and they made me feel at home. A guy who had to be the manager or owner even included me in a conversation asking for my opinion as he was giving advice to a patron about things to do in town that did not involve his bar. I was a one-timer, but not anymore. I will definitely visit again the next time I am in town. read more

Went here on a Saturday for lunch after a morning of bourbon tastings while on a bachelor party. Staff took great care of us as most of us sat around the bar. Guinness pints were excellent and the fish and chips were some of the better ones I've had-crunchy batter, good fries, strong tartar. Really liked the ambiance as well. Vibes - interesting - definitely not really an Irish feel but like what you would expect a 90's movie to show an Irish bar to appear like in a midwestern town. All the folks working there were really sweet- probably the best part of the spot. The lights and live music reminded me more of Nashville then an Irish bar. We started with potato soup and chicken tenders - the potato soup was definitely not great, it almost had a queso like consistency but make it potato and add bacon. My wife and I first came here on a walking tour where we had a drink and liked the ambiance and drinks so much we came back for dinner during our long weekend stay in Louisville. The service was quick both for drinks and food. For food you order at the bar and they give you a number and bring it to you. Drinks you'll order right at the bar. There an upstairs as well which looked very nice but my wife and I did not get the chance to spend time up there. I highly recommend stopping in if you're on Main Street. The other notable thing is this is one of the few places we found with a kitchen open past 10pm. If you need or want late night food on Main Street, this is the place to go. read more

From the bar we had miller lite, Harp Irish lager, and Jack Daniel's 12 year; which was very good. Stopped by for a pre event supper and hospitality session before we took a group to the event. No reservations so just dropped by with a group of 10. They had no issues. A few of us had supper and the rest simply worked on adult hydration. Lots of properly poured Guinness. Staff knew their stuff. Friendly service and beer was cold. This place was so great, we returned for a second time in the 48hrs we were in Louisville. The first time we went for drinks (our buddy said it was the best Irish coffee he had had in a long time), later in the evening we returned for the beer cheese that we heard some locals talking about, which did not disappoint. Made conversation with one of the staff members for awhile and got along famously. Unique items all throughout the place, bathrooms in a historic tunnel, a rooftop, and great live music. Being a New Yorker, I am spoiled about Irish pubs. Now don't get me wrong, this was definitely a cool place and I would love to pop a squat here when not as crazy, have a pint or two and would probably love it. But over all I wasn't too impressed. The nostalgic experience of the building and being on Whiskey row is all cool and the severs were also cool. Seat yourself. First come first serve, then order at the bar. I think this is when there is a big event going on. I don't really know if it saves them that much time. Issue is the customer is now waiting on a line to order food whose staff is also taking drink orders. Kind of time consuming. But hey, what do I know. lol. So the Bloody Mary was amazing. Apps were ok a little oily. And as for my fish and chips? Not too fond of them. They were dripping in oil and it was soaked into the batter. Was a little bummed here. Went to O'Shea's for a colleagues retirement party. What a great venue with a friendly staff and tasty food...the shrimp were on point! Came here after a concert at the KFC Yum Center to grab a bite to eat. The restaurant itself is real cool as it looks like an authentic Irish pub on the inside. There are tons of places es to sit for both big groups and couples. It's very cozy. Since it was late, they only offered appetizers, but the ones we had were fresh and yummy. There were tons of drink and beer options. They also had ice water available for self-serve which was handy. Staff was friendly and helpful answering questions. There were plenty of staff to help, so no one was left waiting too long. My husband and I had a nice time and look forward to going back after our next event. read more

The service here is an abomination. Bartenders moved extremely slowly and acted overwhelmed by even minimal customer presence. Several potential customers walked away due to slow service. These bartenders should spend a day at one of the other O'Sheas properties that actually gets packed to better learn how to move quicker and treat paying customers. read more

This was a fun place. Weird ordering system. You stand in line and order at the bar and they bring your food out to the table. So you need to know what you want ahead of time. I don't dine like that. So I decided I'd just go to the bar and have some wine, under the sign that says "drinks only" So the bartender comes and asks if I'm eating at the bar Umm.. what? So turns out the drink area only is at the tables and you can actually sit at the bar and peruse a menu Ok..got it! Stopped by this pub on my free afternoon while in town for a conference. I chose it because it was one of the stops on the Urban Bourbon Trail. If you visit six stops and enter the code on the app, you get a free t shirt at the end. The two servers there took great care of me. They checked on me often and were overall really sweet! I got the Snickerdoodle Boozy Shake, a Reuben and the house made chips. The chips were solid and crunchy, just how I like them. The Reuben had good flavor too but it was a little on the skimpy side. Loved the boozy shake. I didn't quite get that snickerdoodle flavor coming through in fact it tasted more tropical but I still really liked it. Love the plentiful seating options, there's these cute little wooden booths near the front, seats at the bar, and more seating in the back. And true to a pub, lots of wood and dark accents. I'll start with what was good, the food but with terrible service I can't make it higher than a 2. We were invited to dine on the top floor with an outside seating area. We had to order at the bar which was not the problem but the bartender was very rude, marginally competent and gets an F in customer service. We could order a draft beer at that bar but had to go down 3 floors to pick up our beer, thankfully we had an elevator but I'm not the best with transporting 2 full to the brim glasses of beer. On the service alone I wouldn't recommend not wasting your time at this restaurant. Also, our food was delivered in to-go boxes which was odd and my meal was short on eating utensils and that took an extra 10+ minutes as my wife went to get those since I was still not cooled down from the ordering process... This is a great example of the lack of good leadership and is most likely the main culprit to setting the wrong tone with the staff and not ensuring good processes were in place... read more

Apparently there aren't a lot of late night options in Louisville and after traveling all day from the West Coast, we were in need of some food when we checked in to our hotel after 10 PM. We tried a couple of spots that Yelp thought were open only to find out that they were either closed or no longer serving food. Even this spot was down to a limited bar food menu this late at night. We ended up with a couple of mediocre quesadillas, which we should have known better than to order to Mexican food as we came from San Diego. They were okay but nothing special and not anything that would bring us back for more. Also, not worth $12 each.
