I hit a beaver on my way to work one morning. It was a light hit - just the front bumper, grill, an air exchanger, radiator, and a few plastic pieces that help direct air was all that was damaged. No metal pieces were bent, no frame damage, and even the A/C condenser survived with no damage. My normal repair shop was backed up with customers and didn't have room for me to have my car towed there, so I chose to have my car towed to Serra (then Bill Marsh) Body & Paint solely on their reputation, and they were one of the body shops that my insurance recommended. When I called them, they also had room and could accept my car right away. My insurance adjuster initially totaled my car, as it has over 200K miles and wrongfully thought that I would just want a check for the downpayment on a new car. Long story short, after I found out that AAA's initial damage estimate was less than half of the value of the car, they reworked the claim so the car would be repaired instead of being totaled. In the meantime, Serra (then Bill Marsh) Body and Paint was less than helpful. I received a FEW calls wanting to know when I was going to clean out my car so that it could be scrapped! It took over a weeks worth of calls and emails between me, them, and my AAA agent for them to finally get on the same page and tear the car down to get a proper estimate for repair. By this time, Bill Marsh Paint & Body was days before Serra was taking over, and they just wanted my car "off their books" according to Ron. I received yet another phone call from Ron stating that my car was totaled, and they needed me to clean it out so that it could be scrapped. I didn't even know they had looked at my car yet! They never went over the estimate with me, and when I arrived in person - once again they never discussed the estimate, they just stressed how much my car needed to be "off their books"! The person behind the desk finally printed up their estimate (over $11,000) which was nearly 3X the amount that AAA estimated, which was basically a "go away" estimate as they just needed my car "off the books" according to Ron. Mind you, this was after my car had been up there a month at this point, and a full TWO WEEKS after AAA agreed to have them repair the car instead of totaling it out. Do yourself a favor, and DO NOT waste your time bringing your car here for repair! If anyone from Serra corporate reads this, the BEST thing you can do to bring this body shop back to the reputation that it once had, is to eliminate the current employees that are dragging down that once good reputation. Personally, I wouldn't consider Serra Body & Paint a viable repair option until Ron, Bruce, and Jeff have been replaced with people who remember that the customer walking through the door is who keeps the lights on and the bills paid. As long as those three are still working there, I'd go somewhere where you'll be treated with respect, and valued as a customer. I'd HIGHLY recommend Fox Motors Collision Center, and Gerber Collision & Glass. I've had NOTHING but great experiences with both shops. We were ALWAYS treated with respect, (unlike Serra Paint & Body who treated us like second rate citizens), and their work was second to none. read more

The guy at the front counter (Bruce?) was condescending and immediately made me feel unwelcome as I entered. Most of the staff was loudly complaining about a customer in a room immediately off the lobby the entire time I was there- very unprofessional. If you're going to make fun of customers at least do it quietly or close the door so we can't hear it! read more

Would give this place negative stars if I could. Do not come here, do yourself a favor and go somewhere else. Did the mistake of telling the inspector I was going to pay out of pocket to get a fist-sized dent out of my rear left quarter panel. He said before he even started inspecting the vehicle, they could get it out easily without ordering any new parts. Got emailed the inspection and prediction for costs to fix it and it was $3000. I looked at the full inspection report and it was the most hilarious scam attempt i've ever seen. Keep in mind this was just a very small dent that can be easily fixed to normal in an hour or less. The report said they'd need the car for 10 days, and that I need to pay half of that $3000 before they even started work on it. The report stated there was going to be about 50 hours of labor for the repair. Replacing every single part on a car wouldn't even take that long, but a small dent??? One of the labor fees was paint labor,which was 10.5hrs at $67/hr, which is already too many hours for a small dent, but the crazy thing is right under that was another 10.5hrs of labor labeled as "paint supplies." You are going to charge 10.5 hours of labor for paint supplies when all the paint supply costs were already calculated on the report above the labor costs?? There was 23hrs of labor for body repair. No part on the car is needed to be replaced, literally just a small dent need be removed. The report also stated an hour of labor for "battery detachment/attachment," for what?? There is no need for that at all. The report also stated a bunch of miscellaneous work with high labor amounts that didn't even need to be touched, for example work on the tail lights as well as the rear right quarter panel, mind you the left rear quarter panel is where the dent was. It is at most a $250 job, so if i paid them the $3000, the $250 is going to the cash register, but where is that $2750 going? This shop is blatantly trying to scam, especially those that declare they want to pay out of pocket. I feel bad for those that don't thoroughly look over their inspection report because these people will try to squeeze in these uneccesary charges hoping you don't catch it. I went to confront them and everyone in the shop had nothing to stay. The old lady in the front counter was stuttering and her face was red on the verge of sweating because she did not know what to say. They did not know what to say because they knew everything i pointed out was right. I had the old lady explain all the things i pointed out on the report and she made up the most random, non-sense explanations ever, even a 10 year old would've realized she was lying. These people are scammers and I know i'm not the first one they've tried this on, so do yourselves a favor and do not go here. read more

I took my car to this place for an estamate ,after telling them 5 (five) times NOT to make the repairs until I talked to my car company they took it on themselves to do the repairs. I now have to pay $200 for repairs that I DID NOT authorize them to do. If you need repairs on your car I would strongly advise you to go some where where they have honest people who are intrested in thier customers and not on taking advantage of people just so they can make money! These people in my opinion are shysters and you would be farther ahead to take your money out and burn it read more

Went to Bill Marsh, for a simple fix. My right hand passenger window had a broken track and would not stay up. Temporary fix, I duct taped it shut, but with the hot sun, it slid down and made a mess of gooey duct tape adhesive, plus the window still would not stay in place. Jeff at Bill Marsh corrected the problem, and the window goes up and down flawlessly. I told them not to clean the duct tape, because that was my mistake for crating the mess. But, when I got my car back, the window and surrounding trim had been cleaned and looked like new. Thank you for a job well done, and exceeded my expectations!!! read more

Before I paid for their repair work. I checked their work and I detected a dangling strip of rubber weatherstripping underneath my hood, along with minutes later unfinished polishing on my hood. I have come to trust no ones word on quality body and paint workmanship, it's how it is these days. If I could give them 0 stars or negative stars, I would. I brought my vehicle here after I was in a car accident on Christmas. They wrote the estimate and took 2 months to get the work done. You'd think after 2 months they would have restored my vehicle to pre-accident condition. WRONG! It's now 3 months after getting the car back that the vehicle is in the shop because of stuff they missed. They will not take responsibility for their work or missed damages, they blame someone else. I am now, 3 months after getting my car back, fighting to get it fixed and they have been less than pleasant to work with. I would HIGHLY recommend if you think about taking your car here for any sort of work, run far away. This is the biggest mistake I've ever made in my life. read more

We LOVE Bill Marsh. They did an excellent job on our van after it was in an accident last year. When our other vehicle was hit in a parking lot, I didn't think twice about where to take it. I don't typically leave reviews - good or bad but when I saw the one star rating I felt I needed to let other's know my experience.
