I talked with the sales guy about the process on the phone and understood that they would need to inspect in person. I told him I had an offer from carvana for $2,000 and I was coming from Marin so was hopeful to get something more. When I got there, they said that the year and make wouldn't allow for more than $1,400. It was an absolute waste of time and bridge toll and not ethical at all. I recently purchased a car from Serramonte Ford in Daly City, and while the sales experience was pleasant, the aftercare has been frustrating. Before the purchase, I was met with great communication and attentiveness from the team. However, as soon as I left the lot, it became very challenging to get in touch with anyone (willing to finish a conversation) for support. Unfortunately, my vehicle had an issue with a broken rim right after I bought it, and getting the dealership to take responsibility and cover the costs has been a nightmare. Despite repeated attempts, it feels like they're only willing to do the bare minimum to help resolve the issue. I would have loved to give a higher rating, as the team was wonderful upfront, but the post-purchase experience has been disappointing. This review is primarily of the Service Department. Really a poor experience dealing with these folks. First, I'm not sure why it should take 7-10 days to diagnose a transmission problem. But if it does, they could at least give you a "heads up" about that when you make the appointment so that you don't waste everyone's time. Can people really leave a vehicle with them for two weeks just to get a diagnosis? I'm not even sure why they have appointments at all. Why not just say leave it with us and we'll get back to you in a few weeks once we've checked it out? Because that's a more honest take. Or, better yet, use the appointment time to actually work on the vehicle in question instead of just as a drop off time. They're so busy they can't diagnose a transmission problem in less than a day or two but they have plenty of appointments available? Makes no sense at all. It seems the whole thing is set up for their convenience, and the customer is an afterthought-if they even consider the customer experience at all which it doesn't seem like they do. Adding insult to injury, the Sales Dept is texting me all day after not dropping it at Service. They're encouraging a trade in when I haven't yet been able to have my transmission issued looked at and am not too happy with the Service Department. Is the left hand not talking to the right? Does anyone at the Service Dept care enough to dig into this to find out what's going on? Apparently not. I'll take my business elsewhere. I am deducting one star because they do annoyingly charge $300 for very minor things that a mechanic/body shop would do for free (ie mounting a front license plate or opening up the door panel to retrieve a dropped item, etc). There service department, is really just a renamed sales department. They are happy to sell you "services" your vehicle doesn't need while ignoring things your vehicle may actually need. They'd rather let your vehicle wear out so the can replace more, heck, why not replace the whole thing! At my 30K service, I requested a cabin filter change. Upon returning home, I inspected the filter myself only to find the old and (very dirty) filter still installed. At my 60K service, they replaced my wiper blades with the wrong ones (they prevented the fluid from hitting the windscreen), and they had no interest in helping me solve the problem when I returned to address the problem. I asked if they were factory OEM blades and they said they were. I replaced the blades myself and went back 20 mins later to return the blades that had sold me. Upon this second visit, not only were they extremely rude, they certainly didn't offer any help, the service advisor KYLE, with all of his attitude, discovered the blades that had been installed were actually not OEM. ENEN THOUGH I HAD ASKED THIS QUESTION ON MY FIRST VISIT AND HE SAID, YEP, THOSE ARE OEM. So after all that, the dealership made a mistake, was rude and unwilling to help me solve the problem, and as a final move of ignorance, they wrote on my return paper work "Customer returned blades because he didn't like them" What a piece of s*it department that is using their recording process against customers in a very dishonest way. I'm sure they're great wile your vehicle is under warranty with zero problems. Otherwise, I'd avoid at all costs. When I asked them about the process and the quote they told me they will honor the quote with some possible negotiation once they see the vehicle. That's to be expected. What I did not appreciate is when I arrived on time for my scheduled appointment I was made to wait for over a half hour to speak with a sales representative. After I waited even longer while they drove the truck and told me how great it was I was then given a price of 3000. They told me the value is about 7000 if I sold it myself. I explained to them that I was very unhappy that they were untruthful on the phone and I did not appreciate them wasting my time. They said they were sorry. I'm sorry but that is poor business practice and I let them know how I felt about my time being wasted. Later that day I received a quote for my truck by Car Max for 6200. I visited Serramonte Ford because a close friend had purchased his Mach-E from them and recommended the dealership. Unfortunately, my own experience was extremely frustrating and disappointing. On 9/16/25 (evening), I first met Sean, who was very professional and gave me a deal that seemed fair. I left to think it over and work my numbers, but by the time I came back, I was told that car had already been sold. On my second visit (9/20/25 evening), I spoke with Alex and Jhay about a Select variant. They assured me they'd update me on pricing. The next morning I received a message, and after confirming, I went back in person to finalize (meet with oday). That's when I noticed the MSRP on the car was not the same as the quotation I was given. When I pointed this out, they brushed it off, saying it was post tariff and also mentioned the rate on car and paper wasn't a big difference. We pushed forward and got to what I thought was a final agreement--only for the manager (cooper) to suddenly say there was a "miscommunication" and that the deal was of higher cost than originally promised, i felt like i was talking for nothing. I agree deals change based on the inventory but this felt very irrational suddenly. I was so excited to strike a deal. Across these visits, I kept being told that deals had changed: prices went up because cars were sold, or that earlier quotes were "before tariff" and no longer valid. I even noticed the available car's sticker price didn't match the numbers they were quoting me. Every time I thought I was moving forward, another obstacle or excuse appeared--either the car was suddenly sold, or they had to "trade with another dealer," or the numbers I had been given weren't accurate after all. In total, I spent over 4 hours across 3 visits, asking ahead of time if the car was available and if we could work numbers, only to face broken promises and shifting stories when I arrived. The first manager, Sean, left me with a great impression, but my later experiences with Alex, Jhay, and the management team completely let me down. I was almost ready to sign when we got a price worked towards us, once again, I was told "sorry, that's not the deal." This level of disorganization, miscommunication, and misleading practices is unacceptable. Overall: Too many false promises, inconsistent information, and wasted time. While I trusted this dealership based on my friend's positive experience, my own visits left me feeling misled and extremely disappointed. read more

We purchased a used vehicle from them. While the initial experience was good when we arrived there were some closing concerns. The salesman was friendly and answered all my girlfriends question effectively as well as the finance person. However upon inspecting the vehicle after they washed and got it ready for us we noticed a dent in the read bumper that was clearly a dent and not a scratch. We had brought up that if we would have know about the dent we would have negotiated a better price . The CARFAX clearly stated no damage and no accidents, and the salesperson even pointed to that during the sit down. At this point they were were pushing what a great deal the purchase price was, however, that is not the point. "No accidents and no damage," as indicated by Serramonte Ford and Carfax. He told us he needed to discuss with Service Manager and he would get back to us on that Monday. We are still waiting for that reply. We even texted and still no follow up. Even if there was no damage to the vehicle, a good dealer would have followed up just to see how things were with the car. I have purchased vehicles from many dealers in the past and mostly everyone has followed up within a few days to ask how things are. Due to lack of response about the dent and just simple follow up, is the reason for the "Average" review. Not even a year of driving it and my car started breaking down. Bringing it up to them or the mechanics is no use. They do not help fix your issues or provide any sort of compensation. Instead they charge you insane bills with a brand new issue each time. Any other local shop would provide the same with a price half off. They just charge you for no reason or for problems that weren't created by you. Scheduling appointments is impossible and they waste your time upon arrival. My experience from the seller to the repair people was unfortunate. Specifically, named Mo, who had ridiculous customer service, and unprofessionalism.
