My previous review for Atmostemp was five stars. Ten years have gone by, and now it's one. I used to pay $10/month for them to come out twice a year to check heating and AC. That price went up to $15. While I understand the price going up is normal I would expect the same service. Instead, the service got worse. They just came out to check my air conditioning. For however long I've been using Atmos temp they have cleaned the coils on the unit. Now they just look at it and say,"It's dirty" and then don't do a thing. I was told that they lose money by taking that time to clean the coils and it's considered a deep cleaning. It's taking off four screws and using a hose. Totally disgusted with the service and I have canceled my membership. read more

They are not an A+ company. They use predatory practices to rip off the less fortunate. My finances changed and I couldn't afford the $277 monthly fee. So I asked them if I could terminate and have them remove the equipment. They demanded I pay them $18,000 to terminate. I said no I'm not trying to keep the equipment I'm trying to give it back because I can't afford the monthly payment anymore. They said they wouldn't work with me to get the payments under control and they wouldn't terminate either. They then said if I don't pay they will send the whole thing to collections and come and take their equipment and leave me with the bill for the equipment that they will keep. Excellent experience throughout the whole procedure. Atmostemp really came through in our moment of need. Our crawspace flooded destroying our existing HVAC system. We made an appointment for a winter tune up and after this company did not show up after an hour and a half, we called this company to find out where they were. Mind you, I had someone in the family take off from work for the afternoon to be available. We were advised that they "meant" to call us since they had taken an emergency and would not be coming. I hired Atmostemp for an inspection of boilers for permits. They charged me $850 to look at them for 15 minutes, and send in the permits (which I paid for). They were highly disorganized in this process. And it took multiple calls to get them to do what they said they would do. I then had them quote another project of mine and they quoted me $6500. I confronted them on this and the price magically changed to $3200, then $4000. End result is a hired a more competent HVAC contractor for around $1800 and the work was great. If you read this review, I hope you shop around for other HVAC contractors. Poor service, experience, and prices. read more

I lost my AC because of a flood in my laundry room. I had a tech come out to fix it. While he took my hair dryer and dried off the flood meter, he never went outside to see if the fan was moving. 6 hours later it was getting very hot - a 90 degree day - and the fan was not moving in the condenser. I called Atmostemp on a referral from a neighbor and they were out in 2 hours. Eric fixed my unit in a timely and professional manner. He knew exactly what the problem was and the unit was up and running within the hour. Updating my review after doing some more research. Basically these guys are flat out liars. They told me that my heat exchanger was cracked and that the part only has a 12 year warranty after they "called" to confirm. Surprise, my system is 15 years old. And that the part and the labor would be half of a new unit they would be happy to sell me. Well I go on the York website today and see that the heat exchanger warranty is 20 years. I will be filing a complaint with the BBB. Add me to the list of bad reviews. I had them out for a tune up on my system and they said the furnace needs to be repaired or replaced. They gave me prices that were through the moon. So I did my due diligence and got 2 more prices. Both of the other 2 companies disagreed with Atmostemp sales person. I had him back out again today to discuss price. He lowered the prices to a more reasonable price, but even with the lower price of the system, it didn't affect the crazy price of the Advantage Program they are selling. He made some good points and I basically said I have a friend that could hopefully settle the disagreement between the competing companies. For some reason he didn't seem to like that, he then said, "they are right, I am wrong" and got up and walked out. On the way out, I thanked him for me time, he said some flippant comment and out the door he went. So I guess you don't want the business? read more

Atmostemp installed our high-effeciency gas boiler, as I recall, a $6000 job. They provided year to year maintenance. This went very well for a number of years, until the technician who did our maintenance retired. This year, we responded, as usual to Atmostemp's fall maintenance "special" and scheduled the routine work. We waited... the technician did not show .. we rescheduled for the same day and he did not show, again. (Each of these failures required our remaking arrangements for my ill wife.) I called the managers and received no response. The problem seemed evident when the office supervisor called to say they were canceling the (third) makeup appointment we had agreed on the next week, because "they no longer work on my kind of equipment." Since moving to the Whiting / Manchester Township area in New Jersey in 2017 into a newly built home I found myself searching for a reliable HVAC service for maintaining my A/C and Heating systems. I signed up for a yearly service contract in 2019 with Atmostemp. First two services were very good and technician was on time and very informative concerning what he was doing and what he found during his tune-up service. So, in 2020 I contacted Atmostemp and scheduled an appointment to have a tune-up completed on my A/C unit. I received a confirmation indicating the technician would be at my house on Monday, April 27 between 12 noon and 2 PM. On April 27 not hearing from the technician I called the office just before 5 PM. Person answering the phone told me that my appointment had been cancelled. I told her I did not cancel the appointment. She then offered to reschedule and I told her not to bother. If I can't rely upon a technician showing up on the appointed date and time I no longer would do business with them. Since then, I have moved on to hopefully engaged a service that is RELIABLE and provides quality service. I would NOT recommend using ATMOSTEMP for any HVAC service. If you do, they may never show up!! read more

I just called for a simple repair duct vent , I got i brand new roof and new extension for duct vent . The problem at attic the duct needs to be secure so when a storm brings wind no shift the duct. The technician came before my schedule time so I was dealing other contractor , told him to look the vent from outside and go attic . When I finished technician never came back to talk about and see him talk with contractor outside when I looked again he took off and text me : Blank, Blank the HVAC guy. The chimney fix would be approx $700 dollars. You might want to look at roofing company like Blank roof company . They would be cheaper. Use the name for hire . My point is I got brand new roof 1 month old this technician never even goes attic and tell me 700 dollars for fix what ??? And I don't need anyone coming on my house to hire a roof company keep for himself and how is the professional technician . I called back to inquiry about no supervisor available to talk they say will go back later so far the same professional attitude I would like give 0 stars no give a quote correctly and left premises without talk or explain anything .if you are looking for overpriced and non professional they are right company . read more

At 6:30 I called and was told the company cancelled the appointment because did not have the expertise to work on the system I have. But they never called me, so I waited all day for them. This is not a company that is either courteous or organized. You only ever talk to a booking agent and never can talk to the company. It is a really unorganized process. read more

I was convinced by the low price of their twice a year "ac check up" for my businesses rooftop units. When it came time for the first inspection, all of a sudden my unit needed a number of repairs that totaled a few hundred dollars. One of which being a coil cleaning that happens to not be the coil that is covered in the contract. it hadn't been work on in a few years, so i figured it was possible. Cut to less than a month later, AC stops working, call them up, they come out promptly, find more "Issues" that now total another few hundred. Including somehow blowing the breaker it was on. Cut to about a month later, AC Down again, turns out now my motor is busted, $895 later, and a few hours of work later. Still No ac. Turns out the circuit board "must have been friend by the old motor." Three weeks of phone calls and emails to them about the cost of this "simple fix." Their sales rep Johnie Long, after telling me the part was coming in three times, finally calls me with a quote he can't say in the office because he "could get in trouble." He can do what typically costs $550, for the low low price of $448, because "I'm such a good customer. " So all total, I've spent already close to $1400, to have a non working AC unit, and I am expected to pay an additional $448, for them to come out only for, I will assume, the AC to break down a month later requiring more repairs. DO NO USE THEM. My AC gave me NO PROBLEMS, before them touched it. Then it fell to pieces. read more

These guys sent an inexperienced tech who literally broke a damper to my heating system. I only hired this company because they are Lennox. certified. Unfortunately the tech didn't understand my system, never called the Lennox support, and then forcibly opened a damper that should not have been opened and permanently broke it. What happened can't be proven so I'm willing to move on. I think these guys are probably okay with simple shit but if it comes to a serious technical issues or an installation, I would look elsewhere. read more

I am totally satisfied with my technician Shaun. He is knowledgeable and friendly and knows his profession. The office personnel needs work with scheduling but Roxanne came to the rescue. Action Heating and Air charged her $510 to place the gas ignition starter (approximately a $10 part) that took about 12 minutes to replace. TOTAL CROOKS!!! PLEASE READ...... We had an issue with our air conditioner/heater unit in our attic. My wife saw a large leak in the ceiling so we called our normal guy but he was on vacation so we found then called Atmostemp to take a look on a Saturday. The repair guy was at our house for 2 hours and told my wife he needed the salesman to come it out for an estimate. He came out that night and did some measurements then told my wife we would need a COMPLETE REPLACEMENT with the low price of $16,000 and high of $18,000. We were panicking and not sure how we could do this but needed to do something soon. That Monday our regular guy came home from vacation and said he would stop by to look at the unit. Now I NEVER told him about the other company coming so he never knew that happened. After he was in my attic for only 10 mins, he blew out a line that was clogged and said "Ok Mike, everything is fine" Turned it on and works perfectly, he charged $75. I WOULD NOT CALL THESE GUYS IF THEY WERE THE ONLY PLACE LEFT ON THE PLANET!! If so I would get a book and learn how to fix them myself. Thieves, crooks and total crumbs!! I called Service Experts on the recommendation of a friend, the tech that showed up was friendly and very accommodating. He explained the problem to me and gave me an estimate of the cost to repair my heating unit. When I gave go ahead to do the work, he ordered the part and I was informed when the part arrived. On the initial visit he replaced my filter and repaired my home humidifier. The part arrived just in time because my system stopped working in the midst of one of the coldest winter on record. Upsell scam artists! My AC was blowing warm air during a few humid days near 90 degrees. These shysters sent one of their "technicians" first who told my wife that the sky was falling and didn't recommend anything other than an entire new HVAC system. Then he sends one of their fast-talking "salesman" to my home at 7pm on a week night with a too-nice company polo shirt and waaay too much marketing material so I knew I was in for a song and dance and I wasn't in the mood. Sure enough, this clown wastes an hour of my life running around my house taking measurements of my AC unit and furnace and then telling me I need an entire new HVAC system ranging from $21,000 - $28,000! LMAO. Fortunately, I was the smartest person in the room so I sent him on his way because "I had to think about it.". Next day I got another company highly recommended by a neighbor to send a technician out and he says there's nothing wrong with my HVAC system. All I needed was a refrigerant recharge for $185 and presto...nice cold AC in my home. Amazing how that works, eh? He acknowledged that I have a slow leak but the recharge should last 1-3 years. He said the furnace is fine and will not need replacement but eventually the old AC unit will need to be replaced for approximately $7500 maximum so possibly less. The Atmostemp clown didn't even suggest that or any other quick/easy fixes but was perfectly willing to allow me to suffer for days in high heat/humidity with a young child and four pets in the house while I contemplated his recommendation for an entire new HVAC system. Don't call these shysters, they're only interested in overselling unnecessary products and services. read more

VERY IMPORTANT ISSUE: We had a service contract with Atmostemp and scheduled an Air Conditioner (remember this) service on March 3rd, 2021. The guy came and went down into our crawl space. We didn't hear anything and then a company sedan showed up as well. About 45 mins after the first guy arrived they came up and basically told us this: A part on our working furnace looked loose so he unscrewed it (they were there to service the AC and never asked us about doing this). took it off and then he couldn't get it back on. Said it is too old to get a replacement for and now it will leak carbon dioxide so we have to turn off your furnace (that was working fine before they touched it and was NOT a part of an AC maintenance). So the guy in the sedan asked to meet with us about buying a new furnace - since ours was now not working!!! Needless to say, we refused that offer and had Horizon come and put in a new furnace and AC unit the next day. What a rip off, they ruined our working furnace, don't think they ever 'serviced the AC' and left us without heat. Unbelievable! read more

They showed up within the hour and checked the air conditioner, they told me how much the repair would be and I was pleased because it was within my range. The technician had the part my air conditioner needed to be fixed on his truck and fixed everything so now my air conditioner is working perfectly. He was very respectful to me and my home and was extremely courteous. I would definetly call them for any future service and I will always recommend them to all my friends and family. This company is a scam. I signed a contract for a particular HVAC system. Once i inspected and I found that it was completely different system they installed then agreed, they denied my claim and said i was inaccurate and they send me a contract I had signed. They altered the contract to match what they had installed. Luckily I had saved the paperwork that I had signed and when i proved to them that they were wrong and manipulated the paperwork, the owner of the company started to balme his employees and said he was lied to and therefore he had to lie to me (This communications was via Lowes). After installation this company never left any warranty information, manual or any other paperwork inorder to hide what they had installed. I will be escalating this claim all the way up. I went thru lowes for this company and even they tried to hide their lies. I am sure there are many customers out there who might be a victim of this company illegal practices. Very dishonest. I will be talking this claim to Attorney General and plan to expose their deceptive ways of doing business. read more
