He found another short. Cut to the end.. 4 hours later he found . And fixed.. that some critters chewed thru the wires in back of the ac outside​. No charge since they were out Sunday and could have found out. One might have said he should have fixed all Sunday . It was 8pm and dark.. but.i choose to say he figured he found the problem. Called another company, and was up and running in 2 days. Avoid. Avoid. AVOID.

Over those years we spent a couple thousand dollars on repairs, upgrades etc. I got tired of every time they came for a normal service, they were constantly trying to upsell this or that. Yesterday we had our new company come out because the unit was running 16 hrs a day and not reaching cooling goal. I told them the unit was only 3 years old and they proved to me that it was actually a builder grade 2017 unit. It was 6 years old when it was installed. Josh was a neighbor and friend and I defended him to neighbors who felt he wasn't above board. He professed to be a good Christain man. We are preparing to install a 4th unit in our 20 year old house, however by a company that guarantees their equipment and labor.

I first had my AC guy come out but he couldn't fix it and told me to contact Rheem authorized service. I found the ProTech heating and air in the Rheem website and contacted them since the reviews were ok. When the service person came last Friday he diagnosed it that the furnace motherboard was the issue. He said that the company will see if the motherboard is still under warranty or not and will call me on Monday. That Friday's cost was $239 that included residential fee of $98 which was reasonable. Then came a call on Monday from Marty and he said the total cost of replacing the motherboard was cost $911. I asked him about if the motherboard was under warranty or not and he said it was and even though it seemed high I went ahead and had them replace it due to high temperatures. However, this morning I thought about the price and after quick search on Google it turns out I was overcharged. I put my Rheem furnace model number which is 8.5 years old and Google says professional service will be around $450-$750 and this includes motherboard cost of $250-$400 which means service charge should only cost around $350. It was my mistake of not calling for second opinion. I do believe in honest company will service in this day and age where one bad service could affect company's future customers. ProTech heating and air clearly failed to provide me honest and fair service by charging me more than double the market price.

What. A. Disaster…read more Last Tuesday evening I realized our upstairs AC unit wasn't cooling as well as it should. It was 79°, instead of the 72° it was set at. It was bearable so we waited to call in the morning. My husband called Cool Max based on Yelp reviews and they scheduled to come out after lunch. Two men showed up at 3:30p (not the 1-2p time frame stated when he called). One was a service tech (son of the owner) and the other was training (Ex-brother-in-law). They were polite and began to look at the AC unit(s) outside. The service tech came in and told me we had a tiny leak and that the bill would be $1200+. Our home is only three years old and that seemed ridiculous. I called my husband who was about to catch a flight home and he asked what the parts and service breakdown was. The service tech said they didn't do it that way but said he put what was wrong on the iPad and that's the amount it gave him to quote. After asking many questions he finally said he could just refill the refrigerant but that it would likely leak out again in the next TWO TO THREE YEARS. We decided to go that route since it was $281 (including the $89 service call) and he said it would last 2-3 years. They quickly filled the unit, the trainee felt the air blowing with his hand, and said it was blowing 65°. Two hours later I realized that nothing had changed with the upstairs AC so I called them out again. They quickly arrived and after looking at the units realized they had WORKED ON THE WRONG UNIT!!!!! How does that even happen?!?! They asked for a sharpie so they could label which was which. There was no apologies, only excuses. The service tech tried to convince me that I must have a leak in BOTH units even though the downstairs unit is blowing as cold as an ice box. He even tried to once again push the $279 maintenance plan. I can't imagine what would have happened if I had paid to repair the leak that was obviously not there! The service tech said he wouldn't charge for the second visit, wasn't that gracious?!?!

Instead, they charged me over $1,000 in labor for repeated, unsuccesful repairs on the same issue. Over the past year, they have been out ten times for the same problem. They replaced the control board and hard start kit, but the issue returned almost immediately. They claimed to have cleaned my condenser coil, but when another technician inspected it, it was still clogged with dirt. That other technician also noted the oversized hard start kit they installed may have damaged my compressor. Communication has been equally bad. When the system failed yet again, Premiere stopped returning my calls altogether. I was left with no AC in summer and no explanation -- only bills. My experience with Premiere HVAC was marked by poor workmanship, questionable practices, and a complete lack of accountability. There are many other contractors in the area who will treat you -- and your equipment -- with more care.

I used them a month before that and he was similarly 2 hours past the time window they gave. But the biggest problem is that they are ridiculously expensive, and I mean ridiculous. They charged me $595 to replace the drain tube on my dishwasher. They said the high price was because of "labor," but we are talking about a hose going out from the machine and into the drain. Wrap your mind around that. I could have bought a whole new dishwasher at that price. Use them if money (or your time) is no object to you. I won't use them ever again.
