    I would appreciate feed back. The contract with Service Legends was for one year. Fall and Spring checks were performed. Our smoke alarms were 10 years old so requested a price to replace 8 direct wired alarms. The Legacy smoke alarm was suggested at $330 each installed. Was told our current Kiddie ones had problems and were not suggested. We did not request or approve any Wi-Fi models. The written bid just stated smoke alarms for $2,636. At the time there were only 6 in stock so it might be awhile before ours could be installed. After the installer called in the order, the install was scheduled for the next week. The installer arrived with Kiddie detectors and was told these were better and more expensive but the same price. I think I was taken advantage of. Detectors were installed but then I saw that Home Depot sold these for $70 each so I was charged $2,000 for two hours of work. Please be careful when dealing with this company. I have photos to prove my complaint. They do not tell the truth.

    Our AC has not kept up with the setting. Did (and paid for) everything they said would fix it - every year we have had the system - no luck.

I told the repairman that I had turned it on once and I had no cooling. He checked inside, no problem. Went outside, took the cover off surrounding the air conditioner and immediately could see the problem. My dog had urinated on the corner repeatedly which ate away at everything and corroded the pipes that hold the refrigerant. He said he had to order the parts and it would be $3000 to fix. After 8 days I called and was scheduled for the repair. I never received a written estimate for the repair. Was never told the maintenance call was now a diagnostic call or that I would be charged. Never received a bill for this either. The repairman said it could take up to 4 hours to get it fixed. It took 2.5 hours. I paid and asked for a receipt, was told it would be emailed to me. After 4 days, I called as I had not gotten my receipt. It was promptly sent over. I was charged for 4 hours of work when it only took him 2.5 hours. I immediately called back and explained the overcharge. I was put on hold for over 15 minutes. Then I was told yes, the repair took 2.5 hours, but the additional time charged was from the earlier maintenance calll. I said that was already paid for as I was on their plan. Was told no, since it turned out to be a diagnostic call, not a maintenance call, I was being charged. I said he didnt diagnose anything, once the cover was taken off it was obvious what the problem was. She doubled down on her explanation. I had never been told this, never received a bill for this. I feel i was overcharged for the repair and they were simply making an excuse for the overcharge. I promptly cancelled any further maintenance from this company and will never use them again. ​

    June 23, 2025 Needed to check & service AC system. Kelly…read morelooked at electrical, seemed ok. His assistant, a nice young trainee, cleaned the outside exchange screen unit. Then, my smart thermostat was discovered to be faulty. I asked for a similar smart thermostat. Kelly said he didn't like those and recommended his favorite- a manual control programmable. Being without air on 85 degree day, I agreed. He charged me $130 for the service call and $160 for the thermostat. The "new" thermostat failed after about 3 days so I called him and requested replacement with smart thermostat again, which he said was $50 higher (now $210 for the thermostat !) In the meantime, I checked local RETAIL prices on the defective therm he installed = $44; and the RETAIL price of my replacement smart therm = $90. I felt he should make it right by replacing his bad one with the better one at no additional cost. Still giving him a $70 markup. I felt he was grossly overcharging, under serving, defensive, argumentive, and somewhat hostile when he said " you either pay me the extra $50, or I'm not coming". So much for his website saying "Our prices are always fair, and we even offer a senior citizen discount." No senior or veteran discount was even considered or offered. My lowest cost option was to accept his threat and "get it done". I've been cheated and mistreated before and usually "fight" it, but he had me over a barrel. No apology for the inconvenience, the therm failure, no senior or other discount, no consideration at all for his customer. He only wanted to rip off as much money as he could. His teenage assistant was the most helpful in resetting the smart therm app for me. I'm wondering- Should I recommend, or reuse Kelly again??? I think not, and don't recommend others to use him. New HVAC price was…read morevery reasonable (out of three total bids) and he provides great advice when it comes to efficiency versus reliability. He ultimately saved us almost $4k compared to going with other dealers.
