I've been a longtime customer, and Service Tire is the best. Russ offers great service and great prices.

Went here when K&S tire couldn't come up with tires for my 36 street rod that weren't 4 years old…read more Met Jim and he had the tires the next day. He took great care doing it with floor jacks one wheel at a time. Great prices and a great guy. My new place for tires.

I think it's fair to say that no one likes to waste money or feel that they've been ripped off…read more While I have been going to Paul Wood for many years that's how I feel things went the last two times I brought my car here for non-tire service. Let me first say that by no means am I talking about what goes on here in regards to tires. Excellent pricing along with super fast service that is truly the best of the best. But then there's the other side of the business which is auto repair. Visit 1: I brought my car here telling them that I saw a leak under the car and that the temperature gauge was running high. They charged me over a hundred dollars to look at my radiator, add coolant then tell me there was no leak and that the issue was from me running the coolant too low. The problem with that theory was that the car continued to overheat the same day as it had been doing prior to my visit. In a vote of no confidence, I went to another shop that found the source of the problem (hole in the radiator) in less than five minutes. Visit 2: The tire pressure sensor light goes on. While getting an inspection done I ask them about how this could be fixed. I'm told that it can only be fixed at the dealership, they don't have the tools and that it would be well over a hundred dollars. Ironically, the same place that found/fixed the radiator leak also fixed the sensor issue for...twenty bucks. And there were other things like brake pads that needed replacing after less than ten thousand miles (no I don't drive for Uber or in NYC nor do I like doing hard stops for fun) which had never happened to me in my entire life. Overall this is still a great shop for tires and tire repair. Maybe the last few times were flukes. I don't know. What I do know is that anytime I need to pay twice to get something fixed it makes me very wary about coming back for potentially more of the same.

He agreed to everything and said, "We may also have some recommendations that we will discuss with you." When my car was "finished," they charged me $130 for an oil change! Just an oil change! Nothing else with my online appo service was completed! The gentleman I spoke to then had no recollection of our previous conversation of what I needed done. I showed him my confirmation and services that would be completed and he said, "That's not what the computer system told me. You'll have to make another appointment." absolutely not! This was the most expensive oil change and waste of my time!

I had a 3:00 PM appointment for a Pennsylvania state inspection and arrived early at 2:50 PM…read more Check-in was straightforward and professional. What followed was a nearly three-hour wait with no meaningful communication. I understand that Pennsylvania inspections can take 30-90 minutes depending on workload. However, I received no proactive updates as 3:30, 4:00, and 4:30 passed. The only communication I received was an automated text stating my vehicle would be ready at 5:00 PM. That time passed as well. My vehicle was finally ready at 5:48 PM -- almost three hours after arriving for a scheduled appointment. At no point did anyone explain the delay, provide a revised time estimate, or offer even a simple apology. Delays can happen in any service environment. The issue here was not the delay itself, but the complete lack of communication and basic customer care. Appointments should have meaning. If the shop was running significantly behind schedule, setting expectations or providing updates would have made a substantial difference. I hope management reviews their scheduling and communication practices so future customers are treated with greater professionalism and respect for their time.
