I had originally scheduled Service Wizard for a Wednesday afternoon, however they had to postpone to the following morning as the technician encountered unforeseen issues with the client which they were visiting before me. They were very apologetic but very pleased with my understanding. Having done a number of DIY home projects myself, I'm well aware that unforeseen issues are part of the process with working on a house. You can't really know timing until you thoroughly investigate the issue. The next morning, my assigned technician, Javier, arrived 30 minutes ahead of schedule. Javier was pleasant in demeanor, and meticulous in his testing and tune up of both my air conditioning unit on my house as well as the mini-split on my separate shop space. He took copious photos before, during, and after in the tune up of both internal and external components of the AC and mini-split. He explained any issues he found and provided multiple options how I wished him to proceed. I felt I was able to make an informed decision at every step of the way. While not the cheapest, I'm a firm believer in, "You get what you paid for." Service Wizard was well worth the price for a thorough examination and tune up of my AC. Paying anything less would not have provided such testing or servicing. I definitely plan to make them my go to company for my AC in the future. read more

I joined there annual member where they do multiple visits to your home to inspect your plumbing and HVAC. So far I have engaged with really great techs. Also completed me plumbing inspections month ago and came out to day for a leaky faucet that wasn't draining. He performed a hydro jetty cleaning which cleared my pipes. Sink is draining and a lot of debris/hair came out. I have onl my had the pipes snaked so this was a new service I was unaware of. Aldo is super friendly and knowledgeable. They are replacing my 20 year old water heater in a few weeks as well. read more

Daniel Farrow helped me identify the somewhat complex problems with our air conditioning and offered repair/replacement options with clear reasoning behind each. At every step of diagnostics he allowed me to watch over his shoulder, explained the problems and how they came to be and his suggestions for repairing/replacing. He took photos of the condenser that I was unable to see to confirm that that was where the problem originated. From the lovely phone staff who handled the booking to our technician, E.J., the service was top-tier. I've dealt with four other HVAC outfits in the past and usually end up holding my breath, but E.J. gave me total peace of mind. The guy really knows his stuff. He patiently answered all my questions, cleared the line, and adjusted the pipe pitch for a permanent fix, then double and triple-checked everything to ensure it was perfect. TL;DR: price was high for a very basic repair ($450 to clear a drain, 10min fix) and the customer service from the tech was not great. It wasnt horrible but I definitely won't use them again if they're gonna charge $450 for such a basic repair on top of not having good customer service. I called bc my AC stopped working. I had already replaced the capacitor and tried a few other basic things but they didnt work, so I gave up and called. They had availability for first thing Monday which was good. Luckily it wasn't too hot so I didn't need an emergency appointment. I wasn't a huge fan because the issue ended up just being that the drip drain was clogged (the only basic repair thing I hadn't tried) and they charged me $450 to clear it. It took the guy maybe 10 minutes. They also charge a $90 diagnostic fee that doesn't go towards the repair. I thought that was kind of insane for a 10 minute fix. There was also a $50 off AC repair promotion going on, but I had to tell the tech about it, he either didn't know about it or just wasn't going to give it to me without me asking, which I also didn't love. I ended up getting the promo and also signed up for their membership which gives you a discount so I think it was closer to 350 with all that. Which I still think is kind of high for a 10 minute fix, but yeah it was slightly better. Another thing I didn't love was that I had taken the panel off the outdoor AC unit the night before to try and replace the capacitor, and I just left it off bc the appointment was at 8am the next morning and I knew the tech would need to take it off anyway. When he went outside to look at it, instead of taking a look and then putting the panel back on for me (which im pretty sure he would've had to do anyway if I hadnt already taken it off), he came inside and said "um... you left your panel off... You should probably put it back.. a kid could get into it.." . Like what?? It took me 90 seconds to replace the panel and it would've probably taken a pro 15 seconds, I was kinda shocked he didn't even bother to screw it back on for me. Especially for the price!!!! Idk. If it had been even just $100 I wouldn't have cared that he didn't go above and beyond. But $450?! One more tiny thing. I wouldn't have cared about this part AT ALL if the rest of the customer service hadn't been disappointing. But he also told me that clearing the AC drain might clog the sink it drains to but he made it super clear that he couldn't fix the sink drain bc it was a "liability" so I would have to do it. Which idk. It's an easy fix so whatever. But How is clearing a sink drain more of a liability than clearing an AC drain? After he wouldn't take 10s to replace the panel on the outside unit it made me wonder if that was even true or if he just didn't want to deal with it. But whatever. At least my AC is fixed. read more

The AC maintenance worked well. Service guys were thorough. Since that went well I decided to have their plumbing service install pressure regulator without doing my normal bidding process. (roughly $1200.00.) Appointment was 10 to 12 am. They were no show. At 12:30 I get message that service person was on his way. By 2:30 still no word. At that point I canceled appointment. I suppose they are so successful they no longer need to honor commitments. But their lax approach is a warning sign of a half ass approach. read more

My service tech, Isaiah, was very thorough in checking the health of my AC. He found a failing capacitor and replaced it. 25 years ago (formerly Osgood heating and Air) sold us a reliable system. 2-3 years ago we paid over 20 K for a new system that did not work properly. In year one it took 4 service calls before a technician got it to work as promised. Since then, repeated service calls on this relatively new system (replacing boards, thermostats etc...) continues. Either the system we were sold was bad, installed poorly, or technician quality is problematic. read more

STAY AWAY!!!!! If one of these people show up at your door, do not open it. This is the absolute worst/ shadiest/most deceptive company you will ever have the displeasure of working with. The word count here isn't close to enough to cover how bad every aspect of the business is. Their annual service plan auto renews. The only way to stop it is to talk to a person. I've been calling them for 3 straight days (during business hours) they send me to voicemail every time, and no calls back. If you've already made the same mistake I did, start working on getting out of the contract now, because who knows how long it will actually take. One of their techs rewired my thermostat incorrectly on a day that they came and I wasn't there (they were there to clean out the drain lines and shouldn't have touched the thermostat at all) My system immediately started having major issues. Shutting down every day and requiring me to cut power to the system and wait hours for it to reset before it would come on again. These issues were all resolved when my wife told me what they had done and I fixed it. I saw in another customer's review that they had done the same thing to her, found the manufacturer's schematics, and sure enough, the guy had disconnected one wire and swapped two into the wrong position. Even putting aside the bait and switch sales tactics that the techs are actually there for, this company is rotten to the core. Do not trust them. Do not let them into your house. You will likely regret it. They will sabotage your system in hopes it will fail and you'll be forced to buy a new one from them. If less than 1 star was an option, I would have chosen that. read more

I've been a Service Wizard customer for years and it's been sad to see how they've changed. They're all about the upsell now. When they came to service my HVAC in the spring, they recommended "topping off" the insulation in my attic. I foolishly agreed to let one of their guys come out to give me a quote, which required me to be home for yet another appointment, and he told me it would be about $8,000 to blow a small amount of insulation into my attic. Yikes. No thanks. When they came to service my HVAC in the fall, the guy recommended installing some kind of UV light in my attic to prevent mushrooms from growing in my ductwork. This was moments after he told me that my ductwork looks brand new. I didn't take the bait on that one. When I politely explained I wasn't interested, the guy's response was "Why not?" Ummm...because you literally just told me that my ducts are clean and, if mushrooms haven't started growing there in the past 20 years, I think we'll be okay without your overpriced gadget in our attic. The bottom line: The Service Wizard of today is almost unrecognizable compared to the company of 10 years ago. Maybe there's new ownership? Either way, there are probably better (and less pushy) options if you're just looking for HVAC service these days. read more

Shout out to five-star plumbing service provided by Ethan Hand of Service Wizard. He successfully replaced our toilet pump, hose, and faucet, and our toilet is finally working properly again. This may sound like a minor repair, but it was complicated by there being only about a two-inch clearance between the top of the toilet and a shelf built into the wall above it.
