I just have to say that Serve Pro was amazing! Very quick to respond and very responsive to the issue! It was not my place, but a friend in need was having severe issues in her apartment with mold and water damage. The team was very thorough, efficient and compassionate. We were walked through every step of the way and felt comfortable and safe the whole time. These unknown things can pop up and be expensive, but scary. Extremely Disappointed - Would Never Use Again I called Serve Pro of Kankakee at 2:00 AM during a storm with 4 inches of water flooding my fully finished 1,500 sq ft basement. Ryan answered the phone, which was the only part of this experience that went smoothly. He said they couldn't do anything until the power came back on, but promised to get me in line for service. They didn't show up until 4:08 PM Sunday--over 14 hours later. The crew arrived with three vehicles and four workers, started at 4:38 PM, set up 10-12 fans, vacuumed up the remaining water, and left by 5:18 PM. No paperwork. No explanation of next steps. No estimate. When I asked the manager, he said they'd return Monday with documentation. They didn't. Ryan told me he would personally come out Monday to check on the job, but later canceled, saying there were more emergencies. He then said he'd come Tuesday--but never did. Instead, he had someone else call me who clearly had no idea what was going on. That person promised to come inspect the work but said he couldn't arrive until 7:45 PM. After two exhausting days of cleaning, I asked him to come in the morning instead. He agreed to be there before 1:30 PM Wednesday. He never showed. When I called to follow up, Ryan blamed me for being unavailable. I followed up Monday, Tuesday, and Wednesday asking for paperwork and clarity. The office told me they "usually send everything to insurance," but I needed to know what kind of charges I was facing. No one could give me answers. By Wednesday, I had to demand they come pick up their equipment. Only after raising my voice did they show up--within 10 minutes. Then came the invoice: over $2,000 for an "emergency call." But they didn't arrive until late Sunday afternoon, long after the emergency had passed and the water had mostly drained. This was a chaotic, unprofessional experience from start to finish. I would never trust this office with my home again, and I strongly advise others to look elsewhere read more

Don't waste your money. Called to have a basement cleaned and sanitized. Two women showed up with two mops and buckets. They worked for two hours and said their time was up. Cost was$750.00. Seriously???? I felt it was a complete rip-off! read more

I've had to call Servpro a few times. Smoke damage, water problems, other "waste" problems. The admin team did a fantastic job with communication, and responded pretty quickly with a couple questions that I had. The team that came out was professional, and did a pretty good job. I do not recommend...they haven't completed work at my home...it's 4/2022...contract was signed 12/2020. Permit obtained 1/2021...permit expired 7/2021...they've been paid $36,000...haven't attempted to complete repairs and have not reached out to me...basically been avoiding me. But didn't hesitate to reach out to the city of kankakee to let them know they wouldn't be completing repairs...very unprofessional. Very misleading. Very SLOW...choose someone else. I'm doing footwork now completing things they lied about completing...ComEd & The city of kankakee have been waiting on this place since dec/2022 to give the okay to get things in order to restore power at my home. Theybtold me it was my fault my house wasn't complete...but they have had access to my home since April 2020...$36,000 and time....we've been waiting on them...smh read more

Due to health issues that led to cognitive impairment, our elderly relative let her home get away from her to the point that it was unlivable with extreme clutter/hoarding and very unsanitary conditions. It was bad enough that I called a Servpro, a DISASTER recovery company. Dawn met with me on site and surveyed the house for almost two hours. Though the kind of work I was requesting didn't exactly fit into their service model, she was extremely flexible in not only how she agreed her team would perform the work but also in quoting the job. Dawn sent the quote when promised and after negotiating a couple of changes, we came to an agreement. We set a tentative start date and then a couple of days later she told us they could begin sooner. Her team was amazing. The part of the house that was to be thoroughly cleaned and disinfected was perfect. The area we asked them to move the extreme clutter (that wasn't obviously destroyed or garbage) to was well organized. They finished the job within the estimated time frame and under the cost cap we agreed to. A final note: It may not matter to a lot of customers but it mattered to me. Dawn sincerely cared about the situation she was involved in and wanted to help our relative be able to return home. She described how "her girls" (as she referred to them) really understood not only what they needed to do but why they were doing it. Thanks to Dawn and everyone involved. read more

They were on time and provided me with a tremendous amount of information regarding their assessment of a much needed remediation for this potential property we were hoping to purchase. Rob was supposed to come after another guy originally came and looked at the damage. He said Rob was the pers on to get the estimate from and he's the owner. Never showed for the 1:00 P:M appointment or called. Called back and the lady answering said she'd tell someother woman. No one got back to me. Not a good company to do business with. read more

I was disgusted by the way they tried to pull the wool over my eyes on my bill. Whoever is in charge of this company should be audited... cause I bet there is a lot of shady finances going on over there. I had to have them edit my bill more than once because of errors.... doubling the price on equipment, charging me for things that they did not use etc. I will say, the customer service was wonderful. When complaining about the bill, things were taken care of in a timely manor and everyone was very pleasant. However..... I don't know why such nice people would work for such a crooked company. The guys that treated my mold were absolutely fabulous and when I told them about the issues... they simply said they don't have anything to do with the pricing and were extremely professional even with me being ticked off.
