I was in Richmond, driving and helping my son move into a new place around the corner from Trouvaille. Unfortunately, I got a flat tire and pulled into the alleyway next to the restaurant. A passerby stopped and chatted with us a bit and then offered to help change the tire. He was incredibly kind and patient and he took time to show me and my son how to do it correctly. Turns out it was Joe, the owner and chef of Trouvaille. To show my appreciation, I returned to have dinner there that night after an incredibly exhausting day. Let me just tell you, and I am not just saying this to be nice, the food is absolutely exquisite. I had the hanger steak with a cognac reduction sauce and it was divine. It paired beautifully with a glass of Cabernet Sauvignon. The ambiance it so lovely. We plan on returning! Can't wait to introduce this gem to my husband and some local friends!

Everything comes in to go containers, so even if you dine-in it's still in takeout form. The woman working that cashier was kind. We got a tuna avocado roll, a salmon avocado roll, the Richmond roll, the dragon roll, and a sweet potato roll. These were huge portions. We still had some leftovers and we were three people. We enjoyed our rolls. My friend works nearby and was happy to learn about a new to her sushi spot from Yelp. This sushi spot if a bit farther from me, so I feel like I'd return for the lunch prices if I was nearby.
