We were pleasantly surprised by how great Yoshi Sushi was. We usually have lower expectations for AYCE restaurants but all the food we had was delicious. The service was fast and accommodating. AYCE is $20 Mon-Fri from 11-3, otherwise it's $28. There are some items that aren't included in the AYCE and are noted on the menu. They have purple rice available by request, which they say is a crossbreed rice considered to be a superfood due to its higher nutrient content and digestibility. I liked the texture and preferred it over white rice. Their rolls were a little heavy on the rice. We tried a few teriyaki dishes and were able to ask for just the protein without the side of rice. My favorites were the scallion pancake (comes with curry sauce), chicken/beef teriyaki (very tender), dinosaur roll, sesame balls, and the red bean ice cream.

Went to yoshi sushi with my bf on a Wednesday night and it wasn't too busy. We did the all you can eat option which was around 27.99 each. The sushi was okay - not bad but also nothing to brag home about. We also ordered the pork gyoza which was very good The spring rolls were doughy and not a great crunchy consistency so that was disappointing. Pad Thai was ok My bf got the yellow fin jalapeño was the best in his opinion. He loved it. Service was fast and our waiter was very kind.

Always a great choice, all you can eat and great sized portions. Great service and plenty of seating! If you enjoy sushi, definitely give them a try.

Move over Sushi King, there's a new all-you-can-eat sushi in town! haha. I met up with one of my friends here one afternoon when they first opened up. Plenty of space and were served pretty quickly. The sushi that I've picked turned out amazing! I sadly had to leave behind the rice because it def gets you filled up! Interior is beautiful and we were taken care of. I def recommend and will be coming back for all you can eat!

Came here for the all you can eat($26pp). I got the RockNRoll, Fire In The Hole, Jurassic, RVA, Red Dragon, and Mamba Out roll. Most of the Sushi was really good I personally liked fire in the hole and RVA. I didn't like red dragon or mamba out. Service was very average at best, and can be a lot slower depending how crowded it is. They have a lot of items to try and for the price, there is good value and variety of things to have. I would definitely come back again! Food(50%): 7.6 Staff/service(25%): 6.0 Value(25%): 8.0 Overall: 7.3/10

Extremely impressed with this AYCE sushi restaurant. We had an amazing server, I wish I remembered his name. He was so attentive and friendly. We ordered appetizers and a round of sushi all which came out very quickly. The amount of fish on the rolls blew mind compared to other AYCE sushi restaurants. Especially the hand rolls. My partner has an avocado allergy and they accommodated two rolls without the avocado which we really appreciated. The tempura shrimp inside the Jurassic roll was really tasty! We were also very impressed with the quality of the fish used in all of the rolls. We will definitely be coming back when we're craving sushi!

Yoshi Sushi is an AYCE sushi and hibachi. Their lunch deal is $18.99 on weekdays and $25.99 for weekends or holidays. It's a very lovely interior with beautiful designs. It is very clean, and spacious. I was surprised there wasn't more customers. I made a reservation for lunch but that isn't necessary. It's an order a la carte for AYCE, so it's made fresh to order. I loved a lot of the appetizers, like the crab salad, seaweed salad, wonton with imitation crab meat, salmon. The edamame was a bit saltier, and the calamari was very crispy but ok. The sushi was good, I mainly order and eat on salmon, tuna and eel. It was very good! The hibachi is also so good!! They make their beef medium. It's very tasty and tender with a lot of garlic. The veggies are also made perfectly and so juicy. The beef fried rice has a good wok taste. You can just order the beef without anything else too!! The sushi was so good but overall, I give 4/5 stars for the slow service. We arrived around noon, and there weren't many customers during lunch yet it took the servers a very looong time to get us even just waters, or to bring us small plates, dipping sauce cups, extra chopsticks, etc. It also took a while before the food came out, but once it did, it was all at once. Yoshi Sushi is def my go to sushi place in RVA! I'll be back again!!!

100% recommendation... our server was so attentive and nice!! Those helping to seat and drop off items were also a pleasure. Found this place on yelp to find an all you can eat before going to Altria for a show. Food was good! Mushroom soup was way too peppery but our other items were great. We tried: shrimp tempura, calamari, gyoza, kani salad, chicken fried rice, chicken udon noodles, steak hibachi, shrimp tempura roll and dinosaur roll. I also got a lemon drop martini that was tasty and well made. Cute interior, sea life themed. Lots of fun wine bottle storage.

An all you can eat upscale japanese spot worth going to. The Pad Thai is delicious, and the hibachi options are a meal is not an appetizer portions. The sushi rolls are ample and premium sizes, too. You must go hungry, and yes, order an adult beverage too! Richmond VA was a great vibe. It's 25.99 for the all you can eat menu. There's also an a la cart option too.

Solid vegan options, hip atmosphere, great service!…read more The vegan bento box for $22 was SO MUCH FOOD: miso soup, ginger salad, a tonnnn of fried tofu, rice, veggies, 3 dumplings, and a vegan sushi roll! Everything sounded good and everything I tried had excellent flavors. Prices are about what you'd expect. Tons of variety in sushi alone, but the menu is so huge that it can definitely be overwhelming. I'd recommend choosing one section and committing to choose from within it because it's very overwhelming otherwise. It's quite small inside, so you'll be very close to the table next to you. It's definitely not the place if you're bothered by close proximity to others or if you are uncomfortable conversing in close proximity to the strangers next to you. If you have any issues with strange people being near you, you may not be able to tolerate this place. I really loved the ceviche with the soy sauce, green onion, jalapeno and sesame seeds. It was very flavorful! This particular ceviche was in a different place on the menu. Just a heads-up, I had a great waiter who informed me that the tamago has gluten in the binder, so definitely bear that in mind if you have gluten issues, as opposed to simply reading the menu and judging by that. The Tina roll made gluten-free was delicious. Somehow, there's gluten in the spicy sauce so, unfortunately, that's part of the dish. I really would've enjoyed the spicy sauce on the sushi, but appreciated the waiter's forewarning that the spicy sauce has gluten so that I didn't get sick. As for service, it was exceptionally warm and welcoming staff, very genuine. The waiter was excellent, and he even gave a recommendation without waiting to be asked, which I love, and his recommendation for the soy-based ceviche was wonderful. It had a surprising and very much-appreciated bite from jalapenos. The more traditional ceviche had a clear sauce with sliced jalapenos, and that was good too. I love that this place isn't afraid of punchy spice. There are a number of spicy options, and they're never dumbed down to please everyone. The fish didn't taste quite as clean and fresh as I'm used to, but the flavors in all of the dishes were amazing! No one got sick or anything like that, but the flavor of the fish itself could've been better in that sense.

At first, I wasn't completely sold after looking at the menu as I didn't immediately see anything I wanted to eat as most tiki bars we have been to are more on the dive bar side so regular bar foods. So, the plan was to grab a couple drinks and find dinner somewhere else nearby. I am so glad my fiancé talked me into staying because this place absolutely knocked me off my feet. -I highly recommend the Nuclear Hawaiian and the Hello Kitty!!!! When we mentioned we weren't sure about the food, the bartenders jumped right in with recommendations and suggested the calamari and crab rangoon and they were spot on! When the food arrived, everything was perfectly cooked. The calamari was tender with a great texture, and the crab rangoon was crisp with amazing flavor. I went from I am not hungry to I could eat multiple plates of the same thing. We ended up staying for hours watching college football and mingling with some of the regulars. The atmosphere was relaxed and friendly and we genuinely had such fun conversation with people around us. We even heard from several folks that this place really comes alive during karaoke nights. At one point an older heavyset lady who we later found out was one of the cooks came out to chat with people. She was checking in to make sure everyone liked their food and catching up with the regulars like family. it really showed how much the staff cares about the people that walk through the door. MPM Tiki Bar feels like a true local gem with great drinks, delicious food, and a staff that makes you feel welcome from the moment you sit down. I honestly wish I lived closer because I would be here multiple times a week. if your anywhere near this restaurant, dont skip this spot trust me!

The entryway is interesting and provides some shelter from the rain, allowing you to manage your umbrella before entering. We were seated within seconds, and our server, Liza, came by very promptly with some water for our table. I felt slightly anxious at first, being that we were in a cozy two-top amongst the fray, but it subsided quickly because everyone was respectful and reasonably quiet. We ordered the veggie spring rolls to start, and I had the Chinatown Ramen, and my partner had the Chicken Fried Noodles. The appetizer was hot, savory, and spicy with the duck sauce and hot mustard mixture. If you like milder sauce, do not mix it. The entrees came out within five or so minutes of the appetizers, which seemed quick for a busy night. The ramen was spicy, hot, and filling. I was only able to finish about half. We will be enjoying those leftovers tonight. My partner said that her noodles and chicken were well-seasoned and delicious, too. Looking around the restaurant, it is clear that they support the local LGBTQ+ community, and it is even labeled as a Safe Space on the beautifully manicured, makeshift chalkboard/menu/posting board. The clientele and staff alike seemed warm and kind, based solely on limited interactions and observation on my part. If you are looking for a traditional American-Chinese food restaurant (think buffet-style items), this is likely not the place for you. There were no mishaps or snafus with our orders. We also got the scallion pancake, which came with a curry dipping sauce. Also very good.
