I unfortunately, did not take pictures. But, this was new and exciting. Burma foods, truly amazed me. The owner gave me recommendations and explain how things were made. The Burma udon salad, I've tried was amazing and completely new! I love the spice yet coolness of the veggies. I tasted something different and the owner explained it was chickpea powder, soo yummy! Sushi here is really good. Definitely not the best sushi you'll have in your life, but for the price you pay it's very decent. The owners are very nice and as I was waiting for my food they seem very friendly with their customers and also seem like they have quite a few regulars. I live near here so good sushi that I can take home is a blessing to have. I really want to try their curry because it also looks good. If there is any silver lining surrounding this new normal, it has been the ability to turn an excellent takeout experience into a quicker Yelp review so that all can know about the options out there. This particular restaurant is near and dear to my heart, because the owner and his wife are friendly, approachable, and extremely hard-working. We decided that as the world was going towards chicken wings for the NFL virtual draft, we'd do a 180 and go for sushi. Man, are we glad we did. Burma Sushi and Salad puts supermarket sushi to shame, and the value that you get for a $22-25 tray is mindblowing. We ordered two trays (we ordered around 4:30 for a 6:30 pickup as they are closing at 7 during the pandemic.) and even though I have two ravenous teenage boys in the house, our family of four barely finished them. Great selection of classic rolls and spicy ones, and if you need more variety, you can order rolls a la carte. And of course, sushi stands up perfectly to the car take-out "lag time" test, as someone coming from downtown can be enjoying their stuff as if they were there. Can't always say that about fries. We've also had their salads which are also excellent, and everything is fresh and delicious. They offer curried dishes as well. The website for the menu has changed, so use their link through Facebook if possible. You can also call them directly. So far, we have had nothing but good to great experiences with these local businesses that are still giving everything they have to keep your dining experiences authentic and delicious. What a great experience! From the staff to the food, nothing disappointed. It was my birthday weekend and with COVID-19, we can't eat out, but we can order in. Sushi was on everyone's minds, so we ordered a variety of their combos and some salads. Everything was fresh and tasty. And it was a lot of food for the price, so definitely value. This is little shop is tucked inside the Tuckahoe Village Shopping Center that's really meant for take out, but they do have 4 tables that seats about 16 people if you'd like to eat in. All of their sushi is super affordable and delicious, made to order and definitely way better than the sushi you'd find at a grocery store. We ordered the United party tray and the raw party tray for take out. All of the them were fresh, the spicy crunchy crab roll was my favorite. Even the California roll (what I usually avoid) was good. We also tried the papaya salad which was very light and refreshing and different from the papaya salad you'd find at a Thai restaurant. The customer service is on point, they were super friendly. This is definitely a go to if you're in the mood for sushi and a great deal if you need to order a bunch for a party! This is a cool new Burmese / sushi place. I will tell you that you need to come with time to spare. Service is a little slow and if there are others there it may take awhile, but please give this place a chance. The preparation is very good and cost is perfect for lunch. If you get the spicy tuna combo, he let's you pick the fish for the nigiri with a choice of octopus salad or seaweed salad. The Burmese salads are a must try (like the egg noddle salad). read more

I was so excited to see a place that offers Burmese food in RVA! Usually you can only find these places in larger cities like San Fran. Do yourself a favor and get the traditional Green Tea Leaf Salad, it's so good! My only complaint is that I wish they offered a larger size salad -- it's so good you'll want more! Food and service are supremely amazing! I visited two days in a row this week, driving more than 30 minutes each time just to get sushi. The first time, I got a veggie roll and a Burmese ginger salad sans shrimp powder to make it vegetarian. I'll tell you what, the veggie roll was super fresh and filled to the brim with ingredients. On the side, there was even an extra slice of avocado, a perfect way to make the dish a little more filling. The ginger salad was tasty, but I think the shrimp powder would have made it better. I mixed in the sushi ginger and wasabi into it which gave it some pop. Together, both dishes made for a good meal for one. On my second visit, I got the miso soup, crazy spicy specialty roll, and veggie roll again. The man behind the counter made the dishes in front of me, and he was so friendly! He asked if I wanted imitation crab in the soup, and when I said no, he offered avocado instead. I took him up on it, and it turned out to be a nice addition. The soup was pretty hefty anyway, with lots of tofu. I especially enjoyed the crazy spicy roll. I got it with salmon, and the crispy topping was a great texture add-on. Plus, the jalapenos and sauce were spicy but not overly so. I also got a mango coconut milk drink which was delicious alongside the sushi. It wasn't super sweet. As others have mentioned, the prices here are outrageously wallet-friendly. The restaurant itself has a few tables to sit down, but the setting lends itself more as a pick up and go kind of deal (it's in the name, so...). It has also been in business for a year, so I have been recommending it to everyone since the owners and chefs have it down pat! This is the best sushi in Richmond! My family and I were devastated after Kona Grill In Short Pump closed because we would go every weekend for sushi! I also ordered the papaya salad which was something I had never had before and had my doubts about... however it was the star of the meal and I plan to order it again and again!
