I hate to leave a bad review but there wasn't a lot to be redeemed here. We tried three pasta dishes, a pizza, and salad. The bolognese was extremely spicy and inedible. My daughter ran screaming for the fridge for milk because water wasn't cutting it. It would have been nice for a label (I've not heard of spicy bolognese?). The chicken Parmesan was breaded nicely, but too much basil (or something?) in the sauce and it wasn't good together. The breadsticks weren't amazing. The chicken Alfredo wasnt very cheesy, it was creamy and had a weird aftertaste. I threw the breaded chicken on the creamy Alfredo, but it was all very eh.... My pizza loving family thought the BYO 4 corner pizza was just okay, not an order again type pizza though. I'm so disappointed that we ended our vacation with this meal, we don't order out a lot and we're looking forward to a yummy local Olive Garden alternative. read more

Enjoyed our stop into Detroit Pizza Pub! We had an errand downtown nearby and decided to stop into one of the restaurants in this strip for a late lunch. It's a fun vibe inside, somewhat reminiscent of an English pub (largely due to the big London phone booth) x pizza parlor. Shared the 4 square Detroit style Chicken Bacon Ranch pizza and a Greek salad. The pizza was thick, cheesy, savory, chewy. The bottom of the crust still had a nice bite to it as well. Tasty! Very rich and filling though. The salad was good as well! And pretty big. Great prices and value!! Drinks priced lower here than elsewhere and the food portions were big for the price as well. I might've gone with 4/4.5 stars for the food and environment alone but rounding up due to value! read more

This place surprised me on interior decor. I was thinking college town, dive spot. No way! Very unique chairs and booths. Narrow and relatively small place. Parking going to cost you $1.50/hour at the garage but no big deal as it's just around the corner. Menu had a good offering, as we chose the garlic knots that were addicting- super fresh and hot. We ordered a large meat lovers detroit style. I'm from Chicago so pizza is always good. Not sure why the sauce is added after the pizza is cooked but that's the way they do it here. We enjoyed it and service was good. The place is super clean. Very reasonable prices on adult drinks and food. We plan to go back. read more

On a road trip up from So Ohio, so have to stop for Detroit pizza. But I wouldn't stop here. First the Detroit pizza was mediocre at best. Bruschetta was stale bread toasts w overly salty tapenade. Service was ok until there was a shift change and the new server disappeared on us. Finally, either up or downstairs there's a cigar bar so the smoky smell drifts in and out while you're eating. I'm sure if I was a college kid, it might be ok. But as far as food and Detroit pizza goes, there must be better options nearby?! read more

I stumbled upon this place because the Mexican restaurant where I planned to eat lunch a couple of doors down was closed for maintenance. The doors were open so I walked right in. I was a little worried at first. It was lunch time rush on a Friday and there were only three patrons inside. It was a last minute resort and the aroma of pizza smelled good so I decided to stay. I'm not sure what the business model is here, but they may have lowballed themselves. I ordered a nonalcoholic drink ($3) and two slices of pepperoni pizza ($3/each). While nothing was spectacular, only average, the prices could scare customers into thinking the quality is not good. I was just trying to understand why this place was nearly empty at that time of day. Dessert is the most important part of the meal for me and they were extremely lacking. They didn't have a physical dessert menu, but tiramisu and carrot cake were the only options. Not the best way to entice customers to spend more. The staff were very friendly, though one was overly friendly and it was odd to me. Similar to how a salesman anticipates your response to a question and talks too fast to allow even a second to comprehend the response. I think he truly cared how the food and my experience was going, but it felt forced. To ask while I was mid-bite was strange as well. Usually the best time to ask is when I'm finished eating or if I'm not eating the food at all. I read a few reviews after finishing my meal and it seems this place recently opened about one week ago. I just assumed it had been opened for a while from the looks of the decor the employee to customer ratio. It felt like a chain restaurant rather than an actual one. Some work needs to be done on the representation of Detroit Pizza Pub, especially with so many competitors in the vicinity. read more

Our waiter, Christian, was second to none! He was personable, conversational, and beyond helpful -- even making the extra effort to open the connecting cigar bar for me to make a purchase. Our pizza was arguably among the best we had -- and we have had pizza in Italy. The tomato sauce, cheese, and toppings were high quality. The pizza crust offered the perfect ratio of crunch and chewy density. This is a must have for anyone visiting Ann Arbor, and is even worth the trip from Detroit. read more

Not good. Went on a Thursday afternoon around 4pm on 8/7/25. The place was dead. There was one table of two people that left almost the second we got there & there were two people at the bar who also left shortly after we arrived. So we were the only people in the place (2). A sign said "seat yourself", but it was so dead in there that it was confusing as to whether they were even open. The case that would normally have slices of pizza was completely empty. But I had told my daughter we would go have some Detroit Pizza while we were there so we went in. A waitress did come over to us and took our order. She brought over a couple of drinks after a few minutes, but then we sat for 40+ minutes *patiently* waiting. At some point during that time she came up and said sorry that it was taking so long. But that's it. We just sat there and waited. Mind you, no other customers came into the place that whole time. It was completely empty. Finally, I got tired of waiting and walked up to the bar (at this point it was now close to 5 PM). I forgot to mention, there was one employee behind the bar in addition to the waitress, as well as at least one cook that I saw. I told them we didn't want to wait anymore and could we get it to go? The waitress appeared embarrassed and said she didn't know why it was taking taken so long and took 25% off the cost. Then, oddly, somehow the pizza magically appeared after I said we were about to leave. I don't know how they were able to get it ready to go right then, considering we had been waiting so long and it didn't appear to be on its way at the moment that I walked up to the bar. It was a very strange situation. Anyway, my parking was just about to run out so I took the pizza and we left. Then we tried the pizza. It wasn't great. It was just thick pizza with oddly sweet crust, and it was generally very dry. It was Detroit style, so the sauce was on top of the cheese, but it was plopped into little puddles so that a most of the pizza only had cheese on it. You would've had to spread around the sauce to get it on most of the bites. On top of all that, the sauce was wayyyy too salty. I wouldn't call it horrible because I've actually had worse, but it definitely wasn't good, and I definitely wouldn't get it again even if it had been served in a reasonable amount of time. I wouldn't recommend this place to anyone ever. And honestly, I'm not sure that this is representative of Detroit pizza as a pizza style. It reminded me more of bad Sicilian pizza. And I'm still wondering what the h*ll they were doing in the back of that restaurant? Playing video games? Watching TV? They certainly weren't making pizza. Also: I forgot to mention that when we walked in there was music playing over the speakers. It was a little bit bit loud, but it was generally enjoyable. But after we had been there for about 10 minutes they turned off the music so it was dead silent. So we were waiting for over 40 minutes doing nothing with not even music playing. Excellent food! Went today for the first time and it was delicious. My daughter got a personal cheese pizza and it was HUGE! plenty enough for leftovers. Adults tried the BBQ chicken pizza and it had lots of flavor, next time I would ask for a little extra BBQ sauce. We also shared the Italian cheese bread and so.much.cheese... ahhmazing! Highly recommend. Carlos was running the show for us and did such an excellent job and was extremely friendly. It had some tvs in there, seating was fine lots of smaller size tables but also bigger ones that moved perfectly to fit the large family nicely while we were there. read more

Great experience! We really enjoyed our food and even though there was a bump or two in the process they were so kind and took great care of us. Love the atmosphere - casual but you could come dressy too. The Sweet Heat is packed full with peppers and the pesto was tasty! Buffalo wings were crispy and their buffalo sauce was really great. Stopped by for the soft opening. The concept is executed well - a neighborhood bar with good, Detroit style pizza, among other menu options. Servers are friendly and welcoming - even amidst the craziness of opening day. Good, crispy crust on the deep dish square pizza. Perfect place to come for a University of Michigan or Lions game. They have a heavy pour and the best Detroit style pizza in Ann Arbor. My favorite is the pickle pizza. My fiancé and I have come here regularly and have had exceptional service and enjoyed a great atmosphere. read more

Had to give Detroit style pizza a go while in Michigan. Definitely its own unique style and not one we are used to. Lots of seating inside and some outside. Quick turnaround on the pies too. Also, a nice selection of beers on tap. Funky interior, couldn't really figure out the design they were going for. Ultimately though don't think we are big fans of this type of pizza, but our waitress was very nice. read more

Great tasting food. If you are a local pizza enthusiast, I would put the style somewhere between Jet's and Buddy's but their topping choices are completely original. I've gone for lunch a few times and have always been greeted by friendly staff as soon as I've walked in and haven't had to wait long for my food to be ready. The lunch pizza special-- a slice and a side--is a good deal, especially if you can get a fresh slice or two. Though you may have limited topping choices. The minestrone soup is okay. Service may be uneven. The bartender/waiter gave a lot more attention to some customers than others. read more
