I love their Chinese Chicken Salad which is nicely balanced with some crunchy elements, fresh vegetable, juicy chicken that's been cubed to make it easy to eat, and a dressing that is slightly sweet, tangy and savory all at the same time. Every bite is tangy, sweet, slightly gingery and delicious. I've come here twice weeks in a row for this salad. Husband tried their tuna melt which he loved and their burger which is quite substantial, and juicy. Seating is plentiful either on their patio that is dog friendly and overlooks a lake, or in the shaded patio that all of the other businesses share. Why four stars and not five...? I was excited to try a new place and came to Sessions because the good reviews. We ordered and the meal took over 30 minutes to arrive to us and the restaurant was not even crowded. On top of that the eggs in the breakfast burrito were burnt and it tasted soo bland and nasty. The zephyr sandwich was also bland with soo much mayo. I've been wanting to try out this spot for a while, so when ClassPass had them on their roster, I decided to grab a sandwich and a side. Ordering for pickup was super easy, and they had my food ready by the time I got there. I got the meddock melee sandwich and rosemary skinny fries. The sandwich was stuffed with roast turkey, veggies, a hot pepper spread, and in between squaw bread. I really loved the sandwich, and it was full enough to split with another person. The rosemary fries didn't taste a whole lot like rosemary, but I loved the crunch the fries had. I came by Sessions West Coast Deli with a group of friends for Happy Hour. The restaurant was hosting a fundraiser with American Cancer Society, where a percentage of the sales of food and (non-alcoholic) beverages were to be donated. Love it! Sessions West Coast Deli has a few locations. This location specifically is located in the Irvine Woodbridge Village area. I parked by the AMC and walked over. They have a few tables inside, and more seating in the patio. This area has a few other restaurants and vendors so there is also additional seating in the plaza. My friends and I picked a large table in their patio. Staff was really nice and as it got colder, they came out and turned on the heat lamps for us. When I arrived my friend had already ordered a bunch of appetizers to share. The fries were good to nibble on, but I was especially impressed by their chicken tenders! I'm normally not even into the tenders but I am a fan of their tenders here. So moist and flavorful. Game changing. For my meal I decided to get the Half Sandwich + Soup Combo ($17.50). This combo comes with a signature sandwich, tomato soup, and shaka spuds. A perfect well balanced meal. I love trying a little bit of everything so this option gave me everything I wanted. For my sandwich I picked the Meddock Melee. It came on a soft pillowy toasted ciabatta bun with chicken, jalapeno jack, avocado, sprouts, marinated tomatoes, cherry peppers, adobo buttermilk and squaw. Absolute perfection. The soup was *chef kiss* delicious. Exactly what I needed on a chilly evening. The spuds are crispy chips with a hint of rosemary. Everything was amazing. I also ordered a soft drink in which they have craft sodas on tap, and you can refill as needed. Delicious meal and a great time hanging out with my friends. Sessions is a good place to go for a casual meal. We came to try their breakfast burrito and the tomato soup, which my daughter heard was good. It's fast-casual, so you place your order and pay at the counter and bring your number to table. They have indoor and outdoor seating available, with heaters outside to keep you warm when it's chilly. The tomato soup was great! It had a swirl of basil pesto, croutons and parmesan on top, which elevated it beyond your typical bowl. My husband got the soup and sandwich combo that came with a side of their housemade chips. The soup was definitely the highlight, as he was underwhelmed by the sandwich (summer zephyr). I tried the chorizo burrito with breakfast potatoes, Monterey Jack, pickled onions and sriracha aioli. It was good, with a slight bit of heat. It didn't look like there was that much chorizo inside, since it was scrambled with the eggs, but my tortilla was dripping grease, so there must have been more than I thought. LOL. We just had a great meal at Sessions West Coast Deli in Irvine. It really is the only good option near the AMC Theater in Woodbridge. We got 2 kids cheeseburgers, Melee Maddock, Spicy Crunchy Chicken Sandwich, Rosemary Fries and a chocolate chip cookie. First off, the fries are off the charts! The adobo buttermilk sauce that it's served with is absolutely delicious and addictive. The Spicy Crunchy Chicken Sandwich has a depth of flavors unlike any other chicken sandwich we've had. Melee Maddock was super good. I'm not a huge fan of sprouts but it fit really well with the sandwich and also had the adobo buttermilk sauce on it. The kids loved their burgers! The location is really convenient with outdoor seating. They have outdoor heaters to keep you warm during the winter. The service was okay, not great but not bad. The seating options are abundant both inside and outside ( but also the plaza it is in has so so many seating options that are worth checking out). I do wish the iced-tea was a bit colder but that's maybe my fault for assuming it was cold in the container it came from (vs adding my own ice). The presentation of the soup was very nice, but it was too thick and rich for me. However, if you are a tomato soup connoisseur, I think you would like it. The toasted bread croutons, olive oil drizzled in a spiral pattern on top would really wow you. The 1/2 sandwich was all right, not much filling, unfortunately. However, the fries were very crispy, warm, and tasty. My 11-year-old son who loves fried foods and sweets particularly loved these fries. Sadly, it's our last time to go to Sessions. We've been going to Session's for late breakfast when the husband has chiro and we've always enjoyed the food and the vibe. Not today though. Staff heard my husband's order wrong and wasn't even apologetic about it. She even insisted he specifically ordered what she was serving us so my husband said he wouldn't coz it was Friday and we don't eat chicken or any kind of meat. He said he wanted the large spicy Brussels sprouts and she said she'd cancel the spicy chicken sandwich for refund and ring up the correct one. And after waiting a bit for the order, my husband got impatient and went to the counter and said he'd just box it coz it was taking too long and she said okay it will just take a short time. The Sweet & Spicy Brussels Sprouts are amazing! We also love the Skinny Rosemary Fries. However, we'd come here much more frequently if they offered some type of a veggie burger; either a homemade version made with black beans and/or lentils or one of the commercial ones like "Impossible" or "Beyond." I can't imagine a good veggie burger not being popular, especially in this area. It would also be nice to have some kind of a vegetarian protein option or substitute for the sandwiches and salads; like an option from the "Meati" brand. Even basic sautéed and seasoned tofu would be good as an option. So although I give 4 stars, I'd change it to 5 if you'd consider your vegetarian customers a little more.
