Board and Brew has been such a nice addition to the neighborhood. The food here is excellent - can't go wrong. Whenever you're in need to cater for something, I highly recommend as it's always a hit. This is my husband and I's first time at this location. We were on our way for a visit at the hospital down the street so we decided to stop by. I would like to say that we both really like this location. The ambiance is nice, there's a lot of seating, indoor and outdoor. Good spot to hang out with friends and family. The food was very delicious, so kudos to the cooks and a big thanks to the guy at the bar, he handled everything very well. That being said, our experience was not the best. Upon entering the establishment, we browsed the menu for a couple minutes and came up to the counter when we were ready to order. We were not greeted or even looked at by the cashier so we weren't sure if she was busy or waiting to take our order. She finally made eye contact so we started ordering. She asked us something but the music was a little loud and there were customers chatting at the bar so it was a hard to hear. We apologized for not hearing and she repeated herself in a very annoyed tone and rolled her eyes. She already seemed annoyed as we entered the establishment so the entire process of ordering was very uncomfortable and her attitude after we missed what said, was very rude. She was giving us dirty looks our entire stay. When we got our food dropped off by the same cashier (I believe her name was Kadence as stated on the receipt) everything looked fine except they forgot to give us our sauce on the side. Not a huge deal, my husband went up to ask for it and the guy at the bar was very nice, even gave us extra sauce. We got to eating and when my husband took a bite of his sandwich, he bit into bacon and we do not eat pork! He was very upset and doesn't like to make a fuss (normally would eat the sandwich even if it was the wrong order) but again, we do not eat pork and not eating pork is a big deal to us so he just wanted the sandwich he ordered. I went to the register to ask if we can have the correct sandwich made and let them know they can take the other sandwich back and once again the guy from the bar came to help, our original cashier did not want to make eye contact, didn't bother coming up to the register or apologized for anything. We felt bad because they threw away the whole sandwich, which I know is the typical process for the food industry but still sad seeing the food go to waste. While we were waiting for the correct sandwich, Kadence was still giving us dirty looks so we decided to go eat outside and from outside we could still see her in the window continuing to give us dirty looks! Laughable at this point. My husband and I are both very friendly and understanding people, we always love to give the benefit of the doubt. Maybe she was having a bad day and it was an honest mistake, but her demeanor just made things very uncomfortable. Overall, we would not come back to this location as there are two other locations closer to where we live and their staff is always very friendly and helpful. read more

I'm a big fan of a solid sandwich and board and brew does not disappoint. Every sandwich I have had here is very consistent and well constructed. I usually order the club sandwich or Baja chicken and both are great. I have had the other sandwiches and all of the other options are also great. Love that there's a Board and Brew closer to my home. I used to go to the one in Tustin but location is much more convenient. I believe B & B originated from San Diego (near Del Mar/Encinitas) which is where I grew up so love the Socal, surfer chill vibes. My go to is their turkey sandwich and is it tasty without being overly salty. If I'm in the mood for something more cold, I go for their pastrami, which is smoky, juicy and packed with tons of meat. My other favorite is the beef dip sandwich. The beef is tender, the au jus is rich, and dipping that bread in there hits the spot. The vibes are chill, the staff are friendly, and the place has that classic sandwich shop energy (but elevated). If you're craving a sandwich that doesn't mess around, this is the spot. You have to sit outside and when it's cold, it's not recommended at the Irvine location; they lowered the price to like four bucks all day (great deal) at least for the last few months and I didn't like any of the brews... Is it a flavor profile issue? Is it a quality control problem? I don't know, but wasn't crazy about any of there offerings, although I did enjoy the beef dip. That's probably my favorite. We came on a cold Friday night and were surprised to see the place buzzing. I ordered the beef dip ($11.95) since it was chilly and was happy with my choice. It came with swiss and a side of au jus. I also asked for a side of their horseradish sauce which really packs a punch. They have a great selection of craft beers. I'll probably come back sooner rather than later to take advantage of that $3 beer (through Feb. 28th) and maybe try their pastrami or the Turkado. Food is probably more like four stars, but I bumped my rating up to five because where else are you going to get a beef dip at this price? Plus service was very helpful and friendly! They were offering BOGO deals on food orders, and pints of craft beer were being offered at the low low price of $3!! FYI - this incredible craft beer offer is valid until end of February 2025. Service was friendly and efficient. I'm not a big sandwich guy but I ordered the Roast Beef Spicy and it was phenomenal and included a side of Au Jus. They also have a great selection of craft beer, and I thoroughly enjoyed the funky ale collab from Pure Project and Green Cheek breweries.
