I personally love their penne ala vodka and their lunch specials are top tier. So many good choices daily. I recommend their chicken roll. I can only speak for the to-go I don't dine in here. Counter service is usually always quick and decently friendly. Close to home too so very convenient. While at my son's house in Stony Brook we ordered from his usual pizza place and were overcharged by $23.00. I called Setauket Pastaria and spoke with the manager Anna. She said that the charge had already went through so she could give me a credit for next time for $25.00. She said she was putting it "in the book" under my name. She assured me there was no expiration date for this credit. Tonight I called and ordered while at my son's house and was told "Anna doesn't work here any longer" and it's "not in the book so there's nothing we can do about it." I asked to speak to a manager as my son orders from this place as does all his in-laws. I was told "the owner Vincent Milano says he won't honor it, she no longer works here." I am absolutely disgusted and outraged at this restaurant and I want my $25 as promised. Upon entering, I noticed the counter service area was pretty narrow and tight. However, the restaurant area was very roomy and clean. The tables were pre-set with basics. The chairs were wrought iron with cushions. Our server was Amanda. She was very sweet and provided excellent service. A yummy complimentary foccacia bread was served to start. My Husband started with a sausage & peppers roll from the counter for an appetizer, and it was delicious & generously filled. For dinner, he had Veal parmagiana with a side of meatballs. The Veal was perfectly fried and tender. The meatballs weren't great. A nice size, but soft and mushy, really just fell apart to the touch. I had the Frutti di Mare, and it was amazing. Honestly, it's been a long time since I was so disappointed in a pizzeria. We ordered last night on Doordash, and a decently large order. Food shows up, and we immediately realize there are errors. We ordered a Sicilian slice, but received a regular slice, the mozzarella sticks are no where to be seen, the alfredo pasta has no cheese on top (which was requested and paid extra for), and the pizza was supposed to be full extra cheese, half bacon and onion...the entire pie is bacon and onion. We called the restaurant instead of immediately jumping to a refund from DD, and they said they were sorry for the errors, and would send someone out with replacements for the mozzarella sticks and the pie. Fantastic. I can live with that, everyone makes mistakes. An hour later, my husband calls back to ask for an ETA, and is told that they contacted DD to initiate a refund (that didn't even cover the errors BTW), because they had decided, after telling us they were sending new food, that we were too far away. I'm fully aware we're outside the normal delivery area, but this wasn't our error, and it wasn't DDs, it was the restaurant's error, and they apparently didn't care enough to fix it, nor to call us and say so. They waited until we called them again. The worst part? The food we did receive was actually pretty good, hence the 2 stars instead of 1, but I am so turned off by this appallingly unprofessional behavior that I doubt we'll ever order again, and I'd advise anyone I know not to order either. read more

One waitress should be able to handle but she kept disappearing. Main course Caesar salad, lettuce was floppy, ravioli was just gross, chicken parmigiana was awful and the fruitti di mare tasted like it was spoiled but extremely overcooked and sauce was watered down with no spice. I don't understand these negative reviews. I ate here and the food was excellent! We tried about 7-8 items from the pasta specials to the Marsala to the fillet mignon (very tender, great gravy) and the salmon (pistachio crust yum). Everything was delicious. Restaurant is decorated beautifully and the drinks were creative and well mixed. Our server Vanessa was very wonderful and attentive as well as understanding to my elderly mother. We found this restaurant by accident in a plaza because Port Jefferson restaurants were out of control busy. We were greeted by a lovely server, Carol Ann and she took us to our table. Lovely ambiance and Focaccia bread to start at the table. We enjoyed all the food from a delicious eggplant appetizer to my delicious tortellini soup and a wonderful chicken dish with veggies in a sherry wine. There's something sooo good about a creamy vodka sauce, but of course, you need some variety. The chicken parm was fried to perfection, full of flavorful sauce and cheese. Plus, the portions were great! My dad liked his chicken cacciatore but didn't find it to be as good as other local place. Ok... overall I think the food here is good. By biggest takeaway is that their done in food is a cut above their counter stuff. Their specialty slices are good, specifically the salad ones but some of them like the buffalo chicken etc can be a little raw and then over cooked on the bottom,l. The house pie (grandma I'm guessing) is fantastic, truly amazing, the regular is fine nothing revolutionary, the Sicilian is the biggest letdown... visually it's soooo appealing but the cheese tastes weird, kinda reminds me of the pizza I got from my high school cafeteria and the sauce tastes like it too (too much oregano?). They have a tendency to forget about you so keep an eye on your pizza so it doesn't wind up burnt... their oven seems kinda sensitive, it only takes thay extra 30 seconds for it to burn. Their garlic knots are fine but they have this focaccia bread sticks on occasion which are great. Avoid the pinwheels unless you like the taste of raw dough (some people do like my mom). read more

When the delivery driver handed me the pizza box with all of my food inside I felt the corner of the box al little wet. I opened it and the marsala sauce was all over the right corner of the box... The containers were clearly damaged by careless handling. The angel hair had like no sauce on it at all. I've ordered a chicken Francese specialty pie from here before and there was no problem, However, this is the second time I've ordered a pasta dish form this place and had received it looking like a hot ass mess. Food was great. Service was horrible. It was a slow night, restaurant was not crowded at all. Our waitress only seemed to care about the regular's at the next table. We only saw her when she took the order, and brought the food. She never came to check on our dinners, and never came to give us drink refills, and never brought the check. We had to send someone to get her. In fairness, the other waitress (Candy) seemed very attentive to her tables. Guess we had the wrong one.
