I had never had Cajun food before our visit to Seth's...so I was a bit unsure of what to order. I don't think it would have mattered...these folks could make cardboard taste amazing. I had the blackened catfish, fried okra, sweet tea and the bread pudding. Oh my...the bread pudding...I can't say I've ever had anything that good in my mouth before. The interior of the restaurant is a little funky...but I think it adds to the charm...and you do feel relaxed. The service was AU-HUH-MAZ-ING! First time visit and took guests. Will never go back, nor recommend to friends. None of us were crawfish eaters, so can't comment on that. The gumbo tasted canned. The crabcakes were commercially made with very little crabmeat, but a lot of burnt crust. Their specialty DGS looked like a pile of regurgirated mush. The sweet potatoe fries and hushpuppies were not only over fried, they tasted like they were fried in old, burnt oil. Two of us were suppose to get two sides but only got one. The boudin eggrolls were thick and tough and filled with boudin mush, not distinguishable meat. The cocktail sauce on the table tasted like watered down spicy bbq sauce. First waitress was efficient and helpful, second one had a flippant attitude. The inside atmosphere looked crowded and noisy, so even tho' it's July, we chose to eat out in the extended dining area with dirt floors and ceiling fans on picnic tables. Atomosphere wasn't just rustic, it was old and dirty. The menus, and condiment bottles seemed sticky and uncleaned. Many of the pictures in comments here were of a little better looking food; I did not consider taking pictures of our food since we had guests with us. We never mind paying a good price for good food, but this food was extremely disappointing for the money. We've We eaten in top rated and small family owned restaurants across America, but this place is definitely not worth the drive. We will never go back. read more

Waited 15 minutes for a table which is good but then after sitting down took 20 minutes for someone to take our drink order. Our waitress was checking out people at the cash register and taking phone orders. Finally took our order which was the Crab cakes and the Ribeye special, both orders with salad. 30 minutes later meals come out with our salad which I would have liked to have first but oh well. I ordered my Steak Medium and it was Medium Rare and cold, they put a pad of cold butter on top of the steak and it was still there, unmelted, while I was eating the cold meat. I was afraid to send it back as we were starving and didn't want to wait another 30 minutes. Crab cakes were the Frozen kind you buy in a grocery store but tasted OK. I'm sorry this was our 3rd time eating there and the first 2 times food was good. They need do something about getting someone to check people out and that person not waiting on tables. I know meat prices have gone up but when you pay $37 bucks for a "Hand Cut Ribeye" it should be at least warm when you get it. read more

It's where the locals go. We had heard about Seth's from all of our friends, they all went on and on, and said we had to try it. When we drove up, the first thing I noticed were all the trucks in the parking lot, I thought, I'm going to be the only female in this place, which wasn't far from the truth. We chose to sit outside at the picnic tables, my daughter loved the giant tree that which the outside arena is centered around. I ordered the crab cake, and my husband and daughter shared the seafood sampler. The crab cake was so moist and delicious. The seafood sampler was huge, and my husband loved it. The only negative was that my daughter didn't like that everything on the sampler was fried, she thought the oysters would be on the shell. If you want real catfish order something else. I'm serious about my catfish & no matter how it's cooked, the Asian fish that they call catfish is not. It's mushy & has no taste. When I asked the server what kind of fish it was she assured me it was catfish that they fillet. Maybe so but it's not the real stuff. Disappointed that when asked they didn't fess up. After yesterday...Fathers day...we will never be back we had a party of seven... second group of people entering when they opened up...well after an hour and 10 minutes are food finally came out....food was cold and was not very good..people were coming in being seated then eating...and leaving... maybe close to 8 to 10 times as i watched this unfold....it was like no manager was on duty. they forgot to put in are order or something happened... i have no clue and we spent over 160.00. We had the crawfish tail appetizer, ribeye steak and blackened shrimp, and etoufee. The steak was very good, the appetizer was good. The etoufee was mediocre. I think it had corn starch in it as opposed to a real rue. It didn't have any tomatoes either. Definitely something odd about it. The staff is friendly and I would definitely go back. I want to try the DGS (Darn Good Stuff). The guy next to us had it and was very happy with it. If you are near Lake Fork and are hungry, you should try Seth's. read more

My brother, myself and a friend went to Seth's last night and sadly received the worst customer service ever. They were busy, so I tried to give the waitress some leeway, but bad went to worse quickly. First she forgot our drinks, not a huge deal, but we were thirsty. Then she forgot them again when she came around and took our order. After sitting there for half an hour my friend went up to the hostess, because we couldn't flag down the waitress, and asked if we could get our drinks. He wasn't rude, just asked. Our waitress never came back to our table, the next time we saw her she was bussing a table throwing dishes around loudly. The hostess brought us our drinks, she was very kind. She then brought out our meal shortly thereafter, minus our appetizer. When we mentioned the appetizer, we were told that there was no appetizer on the ticket. She did offer to bring it then, but by then our meal was there and what was the point? No one ever came to our table again. We were treated like we had the plague, not that it was much better before that, but since when does a mistake or two at a customers table mean treating them like they're the bad guys?!? I had a $30 steak and it was delicious, but the horrible service and treatment by the staff, not to mention the fact that they seemed so unapologetic has me convinced I will probably never go back. I loved this place before, and am saddened by their poor treatment of their customers. read more

I love this place. Started as a walk up counter several years back after Katrina forced a family to move East. Now it has a small dining room. They buy and pick up most of their seafood directly from Louisiana. The crawfish in season are spicy, good and fairly priced. They also have an excellent Ribeye steak that comes with shrimp cooked to your choice. Their boiled seafood platter is also an excellent choice. We usually buy a Ribeye and also the boiled seafood platter and share it. Its enough for 4 people! My son says they have the best fried catfish anywhere and another says their blackened catfish is really unique and tasty. Prices on some of the items can get expensive - this is a hole in the wall but is not priced like one. It still is a good value however. The bread pudding is a must order! read more

Took grandmother out to this shack down the road from her place, post Christmas. She was ecstatic once inside, it reminded her of the honky-tonks she visited in her younger years. I got the steak (medium rare) and shrimp, she ordered the shrimp dinner - ordered grilled and "blackened" (additional Cajun spices). Order took some time, figured since the shack was filled orders were running behind - limited grill space, maybe charcoal cook instead of hot broilers. And so we got our orders, grandma was in heaven as the shrimp blew any shred of nostalgia about previous meals of crustaceans. So was I for about 3/5 of my steak ... unfortunately, the last 2/5 ended up medium-well, sure it was a crowded grill as the cooks got busy. And you know, that's ok: the first 3/5s was up there with the top steakhouses I've ate ate around the country; none of those establishments can make gumbo but Seth's certainly can. read more

Food is great but takes 45+ minutes to get a steak. One time it was over cooked and I complained and the owner came out and said he wouldn't charge us that he would make the cook pay for it. My wife and I went yesterday she had fried catfish and onion rings. Fish was good but the onion rings were undercooked. I had the grilled catfish Bella Rose. The fish was good but the etoufee sauce was sweet and had an odd flavor to it. Crawfish were tuff. This wasn't like any cajun food Ive ever had! This is no 5-star restaurant by any means. It's a 10-star in our book. It's noisy, crowded at peak time, and sometimes you have to sit outside....but it's worth it. Simply the best all around Cajun joint you will ever experience. The grilled shrimp are to DIE for, along with everything else. If you like sea food you will LOVE Seth's. The portions are huge, the service is excellent, and the food is incredible. The gator tail is available in a variety of ways including grilled as well as fried. It's amazing any way you choose to go. Don't care for seafood? Try their various steak options.... Also large portions and excellent food. It's about a 100 mile trip one way for us, but it is well worth the trip. Located on hwy 34, and set back from the road so you will have to look for it - but you won't be disappointed. Also, as with any excellent restaurant, expect a wait during peak meal times. My husband and I went out to dinner, just the two of us. We have not been on a date in a while. This place had some of THEEEE best food we have had in a very long time. I got Catfish w/sweet potato fries and Étouffée , Hubs got the Ribs w/coleslaw with red beans and rice. We are just not used to eating large amounts of food anymore. We tried...hard. We shared fried pickles and gator, then our entrée's and after dinner Mmmmmm White chocolate and Carmel bread pudding. Talk about cheating and loving every bite. we have lived in the area over a year now and have been hearing about this place from day one. i heard about the great steaks, i read about it on yelp. i so wanted it all to be true. long story short i took my wife here last weekend, i ordered the Ribeye and grilled shrimp. shrimp were really good, the Ribeye was with out a doubt the worst steak i have ever been served. it was extremely tough and the salt was overwhelming. i have made my one and only trip here. read more
