The name is now Seth's Lake Fork Creek Steak & Seafood. Place is great. Staff is friendly, helpful and attentive. I like a place where it's just about the food and this is it. If you are into pretentious surroundings don't bother. This place is a bit out of the way if you don't live around there, I went on a Friday evening and had to wait 20 minutes. Parking can be fun. Was here last night for my husbands birthday. Walked in and told them I had 12 people coming. She accommodated me very quickly. Everyone was seated in the new to me addition that used to be the open outside part. It was very toasty warm in there and very roomy. The tree they left standing in the middle is awesome. Our waitress was very attentive to us. Took our drink and appetizers order quickly. She did an amazing job at keeping our drinks filled as well. This place is wonderful!! We are new to the area and decided to try this place out tonight. We went around 630 and it was very busy. It was just two of us, so our wait was only about 15 minutes. We sat outside, which was nice. The wait staff was extremely nice and helpful. I got the crawfish, potatoes, and corn, which were all excellent! These were the closest to my 'normal' crawfish from south MS that I've had since living in Texas. Everything was seasoned well. My husband got the fried chicken sandwich and he loved it as well. We ended with the bread pudding, which was to die for! There are a lot of menu items and we will definitely be back to try other things. My family and I have been eating here for years. Usually for a birthday or Father's Day. We have yet to be disappointed. Anything we've ordered so far has been great. Steak, burgers, fried fish, shrimp, oysters, and crab claws. My son and youngest daughter love the fried gator. My oldest daughter loves the fried pickles. Unfortunately we've always been too full to order dessert so I can't comment on those. Do yourself a flavor and order the Boudin Egg Rolls! read more

My family has been going to Seth's for years. This is some of the best Cajun style steak and seafood in the state. Fried catfish & sweet potatoes fries / Surf & turf are regular go to's. My family and I were vacationing at Lake Fork from out of state and were looking forward to the local cuisine. The outside of this place almost scared us off but we were hungry and eager to like the rustic environment, as long as the food was good. My 11 yr. old son ordered the pulled pork sandwich with a side of corn in the cob. He took a bite of the corn and started howling. We thought he was being dramatic but then my husband took a bite and recoiled...it was covered in cayenne pepper. Then my son turned to his sandwich, took one bite, and spat it out. We tasted it and I can honestly say I would not feed it to my dogs. I don't know if they used liquid smoke but it was absolutely inedible. None of the four meals we ordered were approaching mediocre. Add insult to injury, we discovered that they overcharged us as we were pulling out, declaring it the worst meal of our vacation. Overpriced and any self-respecting bbq enthusiast would be ashamed of serving that "pulled pork" to any living creature. read more

This gem of a place in the East Texas Piney Woods is a place to enjoy a great meal. I have been there on Rib night all you can eat, I gave up on the first plate. It was so good and I could not eat another bite. Returned and ordered the steak and it was very good. But this is my favorite hands down at Seth's, AYCE Catfish! I get Fried, Grilled and Blackened with a side of Gumbo and Etouffee which are also AYCE. This may sound strange but I dip my pieces of catfish in the gumbo and etouffee to add a flavor profile that is just heaven. The staff are outstanding and will recommend choices for you. Looks like a little dive or hole in the wall place upon arrival. Parking lot a little difficult to navigate due to no stripes to mark spaces. That said, once inside, we loved the casual rustic atmosphere. I had the 12-shrimp plate with two sides. I got half my shrimp grilled and half fried and both were excellent, despite the shrimp being a little small. Not the big butterfly cut shrimp. I got two sides which were awesome.... onion rings and cole slaw.... and hush puppies (a bit overdone but good). The wait staff was on the ball and did a good job. We were there for the first time 10-5-17. Had a pound of fried oysters, bowl of crawfish, fried corn, onion rings. Service was the best of anywhere in the area. Oysters were fantastic, gigantic and perfectly fried and I'm from the New England coast and these oysters were probably the best I have ever had. Atmosphere was interesting but that's not what you would go here for. There is no better seafood in the area period and the waitresses are wonderful. Pricing is good for the area and reasonable and comparable to Popadoes in Dallas. Very highly recommended. 5 Stars all the way and we will be back many, many times from here on out. Um, this place is ridiculous...in a good way! The staff was very friendly, they were swamped (it was a Friday night), and still very friendly. The food was great, and tons of it (if you leave here still hungry...then consider joining the competitive eating circuit). If I could give this 0 stars, I would. Seth's recently catered an event that I was volunteering at and neither me or the other volunteers from this student ran organization had ever felt more disrespected and treated like garbage by both Seth himself and his wife. As volunteers, we were acting as the guests' waiters and waitress for the evening, keep in mind this is my third year helping this event, and I have never thrown away more full bowls of food in all of my three years. The guests had to wait up towards an hour and a half to just be served a bowl full of grease and grits. There were too many chiefs and not enough Indians. Everyone had a different way of having us do something, which was then taken out on the volunteers, the people who are WILLINGLY there to help serve and make the evening great. Pam, one of Seth's employees who were there and his wife, treated several volunteers like utter garbage, rolling her eyes and muttering things under her breathe towards the high school volunteers who gave up a school night to help at this event. While we were still serving the tables and guest, in which paid to be here, Seth was in the back eating bowls of his own food and licking his fingers while still trying to plate the food for the guests, at this time we weren't even halfway finished serving the tables and people were getting frustrated about not being served while Seth was in the back eating and licking the food that was paid for the event organizers off of his fingers. Towards the end of the night after everyone was served after about 2 hours, we were free to go, at this time it was around 9 o'clock. Many volunteers left seeing that our job as waiters was finished but Seth had a couple of the remaining volunteers help clean up the kitchen and pack up the catering trailer, which is fine even though that was not what we were there for. Seth was then cussing at the 15-year-old volunteers while they were helping clean up telling them, "Throw that Sh*t over there." These are HIGH SCHOOL volunteers who are giving up there night to help and are being cussed out by the people who are being paid to cater this event. *This opinion is not associated with the student organization or that of the event organizers. Great find . Drove past it first time. Off highway just south of Quitman Tx. Went for lunch midweek, not crowded but looked like they had space for a large group. Started with a nice cup of gumbo, needed a dash of hot sauce to complete . Ordered lunch special of fried shrimp,with special potatoes,with cheese and bacon. Shrimp were cooked perfectly , good bat ter and not greasy. Alot of items would like to try. Service was good. Server said owner, chief went to La. every other week to get fresh seafood. First time visit and took guests. Will never go back, nor recommend to friends. None of us were crawfish eaters, so can't comment on that. The gumbo tasted canned. The crabcakes were commercially made with very little crabmeat, but a lot of burnt crust. Their specialty DGS looked like a pile of regurgirated mush. The sweet potatoe fries and hushpuppies were not only over fried, they tasted like they were fried in old, burnt oil. Two of us were suppose to get two sides but only got one. The boudin eggrolls were thick and tough and filled with boudin mush, not distinguishable meat. The cocktail sauce on the table tasted like watered down spicy bbq sauce. First waitress was efficient and helpful, second one had a flippant attitude. The inside atmosphere looked crowded and noisy, so even tho' it's July, we chose to eat out in the extended dining area with dirt floors and ceiling fans on picnic tables. Atomosphere wasn't just rustic, it was old and dirty. The menus, and condiment bottles seemed sticky and uncleaned. Many of the pictures in comments here were of a little better looking food; I did not consider taking pictures of our food since we had guests with us. We never mind paying a good price for good food, but this food was extremely disappointing for the money. We've We eaten in top rated and small family owned restaurants across America, but this place is definitely not worth the drive. We will never go back. read more

Waited 15 minutes for a table which is good but then after sitting down took 20 minutes for someone to take our drink order. Our waitress was checking out people at the cash register and taking phone orders. Finally took our order which was the Crab cakes and the Ribeye special, both orders with salad. 30 minutes later meals come out with our salad which I would have liked to have first but oh well. I ordered my Steak Medium and it was Medium Rare and cold, they put a pad of cold butter on top of the steak and it was still there, unmelted, while I was eating the cold meat. I was afraid to send it back as we were starving and didn't want to wait another 30 minutes. Crab cakes were the Frozen kind you buy in a grocery store but tasted OK. I'm sorry this was our 3rd time eating there and the first 2 times food was good. They need do something about getting someone to check people out and that person not waiting on tables. I know meat prices have gone up but when you pay $37 bucks for a "Hand Cut Ribeye" it should be at least warm when you get it. read more

Amazing food! The Gumbo was the best I have ever had and the French Pork Chop with chili lime sauce was over the top great! My friend had the seafood platter that was also very good...generous portions too. A must is the pulled pork nachos for an appetizer! Yummy food and very friendly staff. I will be back for sure!
