One was middle aged, the other looked like he could have been his dad. "What do YOU want?" Junior snapped. "(Whoa) I had a question about some jewelry (duh)." "You have to make an appointment, the number is on the door," Junior hissed back, pointing to a blank piece of paper boarded up between the pane and a piece of plywood. Obviously, no one could see what was written on the other side . "Do either of you work here?" I quizzed. "Number. Door." "Naw that's okay, (homophobe)." "Have a WONDERFUL day, (f****t)." That's what it felt like anyway, as there was no reason in the world to treat me in this dehumanizing way. It was sheer ugliness and annoyance. Dad was commenting in Armenian from time to time. I have no idea what he was saying, but it sounded like even he thought Junior was getting out of hand. This is no way to treat people, let alone potential clients--unless of course you perceive them prejudicially or with bigotry.

But the merchandise wasn't primarily silver and the photos didn't match the inside of the store. The store is relatively small and what's on display is fairly limited. As I said, I had expected mostly silver jewelry and found a fair amount of gold and a fairly limited amount of silver. Stepani wasn't exactly helpful. And when I pulled my phone out to take a picture, I thought she said it was OK to take pictures, but she apparently said the opposite. My mistake. I was hoping to show a picture of some actual silver jewelry to a friend. So, yeah, extremely underwhelming and not exactly welcoming.
