We bought travel insurance from this company before checking the reviews and regret it!! We planned a trip to Paris with a cruise out of Le Havre. After all of the unrest and rioting in Paris I checked the State Dept website and found travel warnings for Paris. I decided to err on the side of caution and cancel the Paris portion and file a claim. The short answer is we were denied on appeal because there has to be a politically motivated terrorist attack and even then there is no guarantee. Check the fine print and more importantly look for a reputable company as we cannot even get our money back by cancelling the policy. read more

I am not usually writing reviews, but I feel I need to share my experience here. I purchased the plan for my visit in USA. I injured during my stay my knee. It happened at the end of May, I submitted all the necessary documents and I am still waiting for the answer. Also, there is no reaction to my emails, which is for me highly alerting. I think that a good communication with clients in need is one of the sign of professionalism and I feel this company lacks it. They just deny every claim. One claim is about back pain which makes some sort of sense to say as pre-condition. But the symptom truly happened during the travel visit. Also, another claim which is about urinary tract infection is also denied. This does not make sense at all. read more

Unbelievable-stay away from this company! I cancelled my daughter's trip abroad with EF Tours and received a refund minus "non refundable costs." EF Tours advised that I file a claim with their travel insurance company, Seven Corners, for the remaining non reimbursable expenses. I filed my claim and almost 60 days later Seven Corners reduced the amount of my claim without notifying me. I happened to notice the change in the claim amount when I logged onto the website to check on the status of my claim. I inquired as to the reason for the reduction in the claim amount and Seven Corners responded that EF Tours determines the claim amount and that $260 of my $565 claim is non reimbursable. Seven Corners told me that I would have to speak with EF Tours to address the issue of the non reimbursable expense. WHAT??? How does the travel carrier dictate what is and isn't reimbursable under the travel insurance policy? Moreover, according to Seven Corners' policy they cover all non reimbursable expenses. This company is insane and clearly attempting to avoid standing by its policy. After sending multiple emails to customer service in an attempt to resolve the issue, to no avail, I filed a complaint with the Indiana Attorney General's Office. I will explore other options and continue to escalate this matter to address this company's unethical and fraudulent practices. Outrageous and shameful! read more

Last year my mom fell down during her visit and was hospitalized and I had to file a claim and like everyone else nothing seems to have been paid. I would not recommend this insurance service based on multiple, independent poor experiences. I tried to make a couple of claims over several years and, after going down many rabbit holes and being bounced from one representative after another - including speaking to supervisors - I encountered only barriers and eventually received no support. Even when I was prompted via email to provide a review of the company and I provided a poor rating, the company responded that they would contact me within a day...and, consistent with my prior experiences, I never received any customer follow-up. Bought a years worth of medical coverage and services from seven corners and have received nothing back but poor service. My advice: get insured elsewhere! Go there only if you want to throw your money away!! Completely avoid them except if you want to pay 100% of your medical fees + their coverage charges (which are $600/month in my case). My wife, who is pregnant, sent them claims. We never have seen any $ coming into our account. When you ask them what is going on, their systematic answer is : we are still processing your request. Never buy this insurance from Seven Corners. Total Scam. They change the rules from misleading to downright dishonest. Whatever is to their benefit not to pay a claim is what they'll tell you. At least be clear upfront before you collect the money. Carefully "spun" wordsmithing in their policies prevent you from making a claim or being denied for a "technicality". Always something. I got very ill while on vacation and was quarantined to my room until my covid test came back negative. (2 days) and had to stay an extra 2 days do to the illness. I bought an extra medical policy that was supposed to cover any medical expenses (both my rep I bought it from and the customer service person I spoke with while away verbally stated that my hotel and extra expenses would be covered under the 2nd medical policy I purchased if I had a doctors note and was unable to travel due to illness. NOT QUITE TRUE. They denied utilizing this because I was not in a hospital. Saw a Dr., had a Dr. note, had to take antibiotics etc, followed the doctors orders. I immediately called the insurance rep and he never returned my call. I waited 2 days, then out of concern I called Seven Corners basic number to ask what I needed to do and the representative was evasive. It took 25 minutes to wrangle out the information I needed and even then they only partially approved my claim. The reason? Which of course not one person there, before during or after explained to me= Neither rep I bought the policy from or the rep I spoke to while sick and on vacation was forthcoming about my coverage and how to qualify/leverage them properly. Based on the misinformation and evasive conversations regarding how these policy's actually work I will not recommend. I do not like finding out the hard way that I am not covered and worse, that the representative was dishonest. Lesson learned. read more

After 15 hours spent on phone calls over 3 months and 7 broken promises, they finally denied my father's claim. The most common responses from customer service were: 1) "We haven't received your paperwork" (in spite of me having an acknowledgement email)- 2 calls 2) "it's under underwriters review" -3 calls 3) "it's under underwriters review, but I wonder why it's taking so long. I will send an inquiry and they should respond within 3 to 5 business days. You should get an email notification"- 5 calls. 4) After receiving response #3, when I mentioned I got the same response 3 other times.."Oh, I will escalate this to my Supervisor. She is in a meeting right now and she will call you back"- 2 calls. Never got a call back. If you have $500 and 15 hours to spend, go on a vacation, just don't buy this Insurance. They are a scam. I thought this would be an incredibly horrible experience. Look at some of the reviews. Well I can tell you this was an overall perfect experience under the circumstances. I had bought airline tickets for myself and my husband and 2 relatives. One of the relatives came down with cancer and couldn't make the trip. I paid over $1700 for immigrant health insurance. I made a claim for a Doctor's appointment and prescription drugs. It took more than 6 months for them to make a wholly inadequate refund to me. I am of the opinion that the only reason the refund was made was the fact that I was never off the telephone to them and also that I persevered getting all the duplicate receipts and doctor notes which they repeatedly requested. My second claim to them was totally ignored. My advice to anyone thinking about insurance is that they shy well away from Seven Corners. I haven't had one pleasant experience with Seven Corners! For the last year or so I have had 3 bills that Seven Corners was supposed to take care of, and they haven't moved a finger. Because they don't do anything and wait for things to happen from everybody else, I now have debt collectors on my back asking for the money due, because my claim is STILL PENDING even after almost a YEAR!! I have called Seven Corners probably 6 or 7 times for the same claim, and all they say is that they haven't received my medical records... Here is why they haven't received it: They asked the provider once, and waited 3 months. I had to do all the work to find out that my provider isn't sending the medical records because Seven Corners hasn't paid the $16 fee for it, and that took another 3 months! One day they even sent me an email to let me know that according to my demand, I was no longer insured... I had never asked for such a thing and when I called them they said they had made a mistake... What a joke. Every time you call for help you will have to deal with a different person and explain the whole situation again. They will give the the same answer: we are waiting for.... All they do is wait. How one preventative visit to a general practitioner will cost me $959.00 out of pocket with a RPCV policy from Seven Corners/First Health: September 2016: I purchased two additional months of coverage for the price of $451.98. November 2016: I scheduled an appointment at an in-network provider near my home of record upon returning to the United States. November 2016: I arrived at the appointment and filled out new patient paperwork. As the administrative staff was unfamiliar with the insurance company, they asked me to standby so they could verify the policy. They did, and I was asked for a $25 copayment. During the checkup, the physician recommended a pap smear and bloodwork. I consented to both. Upon exiting office, I was assured that the provider would bill the insurance company directly. February 2017: A bill from the healthcare provider arrives at my home of record for $266. This is cost of the physical exam less my copayment. February 6, 2017: First call to Seven Corners. They state that they have no record of said claim. I offer to call the provider to make sure they sent it to the correct address. February 6, 2017: The provider confirms that the claim was submitted correctly; they even had a confirmation number from the time it was processed. February 6, 2017: Second call to Seven Corners. They find the claims that have been misplaced under my active volunteer policy. They say they will now process under RPCV policy. February 13, 2017: I see that my bill remains unpaid with my provider. Third call to Seven Corners. They state that a Proof of Loss form is required for every claim. It must be completed and signed by the physician. I have never heard of this type of form nor was I ever previously instructed that there was an additional document to fill out. February 13, 2017: I explain this process to my provider, but since they have never heard of this type of form, they refuse to have doctor sign until they contact First Health/Seven Corners. February 22, 2017: Provider calls First Health/Seven Corners regarding unusual protocol, but does allow the physician to sign the form. February 24, 2017: I received signed Proof of Loss form. I immediately scanned the document and emailed it to First Health/Seven Corners. February 28, 2017: It has now been three months since my appointment. March 1, 2017: Having heard nothing yet, I call First Health/Seven Corners for the fourth time. They confirm that they did receive the forms, but it will take two weeks to process them. March 17, 2017: I call First Health/Seven Corners for the fifth time. Kathy tells me that the claims were put into the system on March 13 and that I should check back last week. March 27, 2017: I call First Health/Seven Corners for the sixth time. Renee tells me that the claims will be processed in the next 24-48 hours. March 29, 2017: I call First Health/Seven Corners for the seventh time. Alicia tells me that the claims are "with the analysts" and that it can take two weeks from this point. She says I should talk to Renee, but she is busy so she will have to call me back. I never heard back. March 30, 2017: I call First Health/Seven Corners for the eight time. Johnathan tells me only $110 of the exam will be covered because that is the preventative care limit. The provider should expect this money in 5-10 business days. He is the first one to tell me they will also deny the associated lab charges because that is considered a part of the physical exam. That will leave me with a $181 remainder to pay. The pap smear is $95, and the bloodwork is $658. So, $181 physical exam, $95 pap smear, $658 bloodwork, and $25 copay total to $959 owed out of pocket. Seven Corners sucks! Back in December of 2015, my MIL had a cancer scare. This obviously was totally unexpected and racked up insane amount of bills for us. I diligently filled out all the claims and sent them by email so I could have proof that they were sent. I waited for a month and had not heard from them and gave them a call. They insisted I never sent them any claims until I re-forwarded the emails. They said they would get it processed and get back to us. Of course I call back a month later and they are stating that they need medical records and the doctors are not responding. Even though I was on vacation in Australia at that time, for at least (3 weeks) I would get up in the middle of the night to call my doctors individually to request medical records. Interesting enough, most of them said that seven corners HAS NOT contacted them. I was pissed that I am having to the do the job that SEVEN CORNERS should be doing. Regardless, after spending numerous hours on the phone, teaming up with my husband in US to fax and mail out stuff, all medical records were sent by all the doctors. This was confirmed by calling all the doctors and making sure they have been sent. By this time it is May 2016 and I am thinking okay good, things will get moving along now. Little did I know that the nightmare was just beginning and would not finish. I spent the next 6 months religiously calling at least 1-2 week sometimes even 3 (and when I mean by calling...that doesn't include how many calls it took to actually speak with someone. The best part is when you leave a message with the nice secretary and she pleasantly replies I will have someone call you back...I promise....and of course no one calls back!!) trying to figure out why the review process has not started. It was hard to talk to only one person because they would never call you back or never pick up the phone or hang up on you. So the pattern started of an agent telling me that "oh all medical files have no been received, then I would go one by one with them explaining they have been sent, look for them,,,and they would say yes we have it. Ok it has been sent for review. You should call back in 10 days. I would call back in 10 days and I would hear OH all medical files have not been received. It was crazy....no one was willing to help, no one cared... By this time I am starting to worry what am I to do with this $30,000 medical bill that I have. The only thing I could do was keep calling and talking to the agent. Whenever I asked to speak with the manager they would say that they are the manager or they would say let me transfer you and ACCIDENTALLY hang up on me. I finally got a lady on the phone who saw that there was something wrong with my claims and diligently went through them and saw that in fact all medical records have been received. I asked her to send me an email stating that so I could have it for later on. It seemed like I had finally gotten over the medical records hurdle....but now the review process hurdle started. By this time it is like August/September 2016. I am keep being told that it is in the review process and just to be patient. I got told many things - that a special committee was coming in and it's almost done. But of course this just kept going on...fast forward to Dec 2016. I was so stressed out by that time - the last 8 months I had spent hundreds of hours on the phone with seven corners that I needed a break. I could not handle it at that time. Luckily around that time I received a letter from my state (Texas Department of Insurance) saying they have reviewed my complaint against seven corners and are investigating. I also had someone from the doctors office talk to seven corners and basically advocate on my behalf. I jumped out of the picture, and took a break from all this stress.. I started up again in February 2017, and was pleasantly surprised that starting December 2016 they have started sending out checks to various doctors.Not sure what made Seven Corners act - I have a suspicion it was because of the complaint. I was relieved that okay hopefully this process will be ending soon. I still have a few claims left that they have denied (they shouldn't have) that I am appealing. I hope this process will not take long. I would like to say one thing....out of this crazy nightmare...I got in contact with one agent in the past few weeks...who is right now handling my claims. He is the ONLY saving grace of Seven Corners. He is the first agent who calls back when he says he will, keeps me in the loop, and picks up my phone call. I was all set to write a glowing review for Seven Corners Travel Insurance because the review process seemed to go rather smoothly and efficiently. That is until it came time to actually receive our approved reimbursement payments from them. The first payment arrived after 16 days of the check being issued, the second came in a timely fashion; 5 days from date of issue and the third check we are still waiting for; 21 days and counting from date of issue. When I called to inquire about this payment I was given the age old excuses; the check is in the mail; or it must be lost in the mail. Call me a skeptic but in my 62 years of life I somehow have always received bills in the mail from the postal service so I'm not buying their excuses. Maybe they were hoping we forgot about our last payment in excess of $1300.00!! Then I was told we have to wait 30 days until they would void the check and reiussue it. AVOID THIS INSURANCE AT ALL COSTS! I was a Fulbright Scholar teaching Arabic at an elite liberal arts college in New England. Last spring I unfortunately contracted a very painful medical condition. After a seemingly endless series of phone calls between Seven Corners and a local doctor I received clear approval that Seven Corners would cover my entire surgery. Now, three weeks after surgery, I've gotten a bill for $1500! After several phone calls nobody at Seven Corners is willing to provide me with any answers and I am left in a precarious financial position weeks before I am supposed to return home. I recently went thru a horrible experience with SeverCorners insurance for getting my refund. I claimed my request on 6 JAN and they informed me that my claim will be process within 4 to 6 weeks. Well, I've been waited over 3 months and nothing happened. Therefore, I contacted them again and requested the latest status of my claim on 20 APR. After I stated that I'll contact the BBB, local law enforcement, and news media, they finally contacted me with a short email. They stated that my refund check supposed to mail out on 27 APR. As of 7 May, I haven't received my refund check. To me, I wouldn't purchased this insurance policy from SeverCorners again. A TOTAL SCAM! I signed up for the medical insurance (Reside Prime); got a simple procedure while living abroad (a colonoscopy); it's been 6 months and they are STILL processing my claim, which I was advised they are likely to deny. The costumer service is horrible; I probably call them every week regarding my claim and they have no idea the status of it. I got my visitors insurance from Seven Corners twice. However, the first time I was lucky enough and did not have to use it. This time around, I had to visit an emergency room. To my surprise the bill came over 5.000$ with the Seven Corners so called "Explanation of Benefits " forms stating Denial on all sorts of reasons, among the most ridiculous Denials: "your file has been closed for lack of response". How could it have been closed if the hospital submitted the forms and I had never received any letters from the hospital or Seven Corners to provide any additional information? Shortly after the visit to the emergency room, I had to see the doctor, and soon enough, the same forms arrived from Seven Corners Medical Insurance with the identical text. I decided to submit the information directly to Seven Corners via email as they have forms on the site. However, a month later I got an email back, stating they had not received any forms. They got an email and didn't get the forms? and it took them so long to reply? At this point I started looking up the reviews of other people's experiences and realized we are being scammed by Seven Corners big way! My last insurance with this scammers cost me over a 1000$ for 6 months. Please stay away from this fraudulent business! read more

Once I posted this review on Yelp some called me from seven corners and told me that they had contacted quest diagnostics as this was one of the places I got bills from and they told me that I only should pay only $21 to Quest instead of the $209 and Quest will send me an updated bill and i need to wait.I waited for another week and I get another bill from quest as final notice for $209 and when I contact quest , they said no one from seven corners/UHC had contacted them .Then I was requested the full medical records for all days of service which I have already sent 3 times. They said it is not clear and I need to resend . i personally went and got the records and emailed them but so far no response and not a single bill has been padi so far.This company is a hoax and making fool of people and stealing money in the name of insurance.I think all of us impacted by this fraud have to take some action so more people are not fooled and misled read more

It's interesting to read other reviews here. I have to say that we all seem to have the same experience. Our family has really found them to be a thorn in our side in the most painful time when you need your insurance to be of assistance. They are slow, disingenuous, obstructive and not on your side. I'd suggest a different company. read more

Update - claim denied. Said it's up to me to prove that the airline was down due to weather for 48 hours or better. I was denied rebooking for over 48 hours but that doesn't count. Folks, don't use this service. You can't believe anything they say about coverage - I wouldn't believe anyone from there even if their tongue was notarized! I took a three month trip to Mozambique, Africa. First of all, there was a glitch on the website, so they got my return date wrong. Now, if that wasn't just the beginning of the issues I had, I'd say I could make room for marginal error, even though it was over $200 of my original quote. But, like everyone who uses travel insurance to protect from the unexpected travel events that can take place--I've traveled a fair amount--I purchased a plan with full protection including 'cancelation for any reason.' While in Africa, I had to make a sudden itinerary change that would mean cancelation of 2 flights, and an extension of my trip. I had my mother file the claim, and request for an extension, as well as e-mailing the company (due to my inability to make calls). They kept telling me I needed to call them, mind you, I'm in the bush of Africa so that is a near-impossible request. Later I find out that my plan covered --'cancelation for any reason except yours' apparently. To top it off, there is no extending coverage once your trip has started, and claims must be made before insurance expires. So if you are looking for insurance to protect against the unforeseen circumstances that happen often in travel--DON'T USE THIS COMPANY. Terrible coverage, lack of travel protection, and no ability to alter the plan in the case that your plans change, and false advertisement on their insurance policies.
