When they say read the reviews first, now I understand what it really means and how important this is! I have purchased 4 travel insurance plans with this SCAM company! Yes, you heard it right 4! I resided outside the US but travelled often to the US for school exchange programs and tourism. I spent more than $3,000 that I could have just donated to the homeless or the needy. My first time purchasing a policy everything went well. I barely visited the doctors office, same for the second and third time even if it took at least 3 to 6 months for a claim to be processed. I even recommended this company to some friends and even purchased policies for family members who were travelling abroad. Little did I know, this company only works when you basically NEVER get sick or just have small bills claimed, smh. Things went very bad on my fourth policy when DURING my coverage, I got diagnosed with cancer. All my claims got denied because of somehow pre-existing conditions!!! Apparently, based on the SO CALLED professional medical team (fictive I guess), the cancer was in me for up to 36 months before being diagnosed by the doctors! I laughed when I saw that statement. I am a researcher, a scientist, and I know that even the person that did not go to school would not have drawn those conclusions! In SEVENCORNERS WORLD, you can have cancer for 36 months, know it, live with it, yet not get medical attention until you purchase a policy with their MIGHTY insurance company to get your medical expense covered!!! This is NONSENSE! Who in their right mind would play with their health like that? Risking their life? Now there is more than a $150,000 in claims that have been denied even after my appeal. I doubt they even take the time to get the cases reviewed by REAL doctors, scientists, oncologists in my case. They are HEARTLESS, UNPROFESSIONAL and deserve minus 10 stars in review if I could give it to them. Please, I beg you, save your money and go purchase a policy with a company that takes your matters at heart and processes your claims ON TIME and will not add to the stress that you already go through not knowing if you will make it out alive. This company is dishonest and shady. Our trip was cancelled because of CoVid, and this is apparently not covered. Seeing the other reviews, I am having the exact same experience. I booked Go Ahead Tours and paid $1200 for insurance. My wife got sick and we had to cancel. They're denying our claim because she cancelled prior to her doctors appointment rather than waiting until after. That's all they got. They really don't want to live up to their responsibility. I've just called my travel agency, EF All About Tours and told them I will never use them again and tell everyone I know not to use them as long as they continue business with Seven Corners Trip Insurance. We had a flight cancellation to our 2 week trip to Italy (our delayed honeymoon) and the new flights did not include the Premium Economy upgrades our previous flight had charged. BUYERS, STAY AWAY FROM SEVEN CORNERS Bought a comprehensive medical insurance for traveling to the US. We had to visit a few doctors due to illness. After a few months, when we filed for claims, all the claims were rejected because 'they were unable to get information from the providers". How is it our fault if the insurance company cannot get information from their preferred providers? Further, when one of the doctors filed a claim, they rejected that stating they did not receive requested information from us. We never received any such request for information from them! DON'T WASTE YOUR TIME! I have had terrible service with Seven Corners. I tried to get insurance with them for a short five day trip. I made sure to look over all the entered information before submitting it. When I received my policy papers, they had incorrectly entered the date of birth as well as the AD&D beneficiaries: not something you want screwed up. Immediately I requested these to be changed with the correct data, which, by the way, can only be done via email. On the website, they promise to respond within a day: this is absolute BS. When I didn't hear from them before leaving for my trip, I emailed (again, only option) to cancel my policy. It is five days later, and I just got an email saying that my policy was corrected and my policy is in place. We are almost done with our trip! If they can't get things right on the front end, how can I expect them to handle a claim! read more

Our flight was cancelled coming home so after speaking with the travel agency and finding out we could rent a car with reimbursement we did just that. Long story short 7 Corners continues to ask for nonsense proof of the cancellation, e.g. "how long was your flight delayed" ... it was CANCELLED geniuses. But sure, the next flight was the next day, I think 16 hours later. They'll ask you for some trivial bit of information then ignore you for weeks. Good luck if you use them. After an incredibly poor experience with 7 corners, a rep followed up with me and helped me walk through the kafkian process of getting my gyno visit covered. That crisis adverted, it's not the best insurance. If you're an AmeriCorps member obligated to get 7 corners, I recommend trying not to get sick for the duration of your service, and if you must, document everything and be super proactive. It took me so long to get Seven Corners to take care of a $300 bill that it almost went to collections. read more

STAY! AWAY! We contacted them prior to doctor visit and contacted them to make sure the doctor was within network and if it would be coverable visit. They were helpful when you sign up and pay. But once you pay them, that's it! Game Over! They deny any claim making up excuses and stating they contacted the provider and based on their explanations. However, we contacted the provider and found out they never reach out to them. The provider had been trying to contact these people but they never responded. WTH!!! I'm incredibly disappointed by the lack of service. In an attempt to sort out a problem with my trip I was put on hold for an extremely long time. Then I was told to leave a message. After I left the message I was hung up on. I was never able to talk to anyone and no one ever called me back. Nothing! I also left a message/email via their website and I still didn't get a response. If you're looking to talk to someone or get some help- good luck. I'm still waiting for a call back or an email... I was referred to Seven Corners by One Travel, who booked airfare for myself and wife to a Las Vegas conference in early October. After booking, we were told one of us needed to be available for a legal issue during that period, so my wife's trip was cancelled, and we asked for 1 airfare reimbursement from Seven Corners. It was rejected due to a technicality. My wife has had a serious autoimmune disease for years, and she is subject to sudden flareups, and she got sick during that early October period, and went to her doctor and was hospitalized in mid October. Because the medical records were not at same time as trip, our small claim was again rejected! Long story short, avoid this company's insurance -it's worthless. They will use every excuse in the book to not honor a claim. I am also notifying BBB. read more

The worst by far and I mean that literally. I unfortunately lost my job and could no longer make the payments for my son's trip to the Alps. It was hard as a mother to even tell him he couldn't go, because we couldn't afford it, but SEVEN CORNERS gave ZERO F'ks! Of all the money I put in, I only received $294.00 of it back. They denied my claim for the additional $300.00, I filed an appeal, and they denied it! SO, NO, I don't recommend these people. I cancelled my flight for a medical reason. I got full money back.

Took out insurance for a trip that occured over the snow storm in Dec 22. Our flights were changed due to the airline for (1) change in flights and (2) weather reasons. We experienced delays on the trip several times and mainly our flights moved earlier and we incurred significant costs. Seven corners declined to reimburse me after claiming most of the costs from the airline and the credit card insurance I had. They stated that our delays were not within 50miles from departure, which I'm sure Detroit to Chicago is more than 50miles. They believe we didn't have a delay because we arrived earlier than initially planned (even though there were actual delays of more than 6 hours and our less than 24 hour trip became a 48 hour trip). We didn't let them know that we had an earlier start to the trip, even though there's no obligation in their documentation to do this and reasons for changes were listen in their policy. Additionally, they stated even though we were covered since the payment date until the end of the policy/trip date end, we weren't really covered. After pointing out very nicely all the holes in their argument, they put me on their Customer Block List. DO NOT use this insurance company. read more

Seven Corners was easy to work with, gave us detailed instructions for getting the proper medical documentation and things to look out for. Very helpful. Seven Corners offered nothing but frustration and willingness to take our money. We booked a policy for a trip to Europe in May 2020. As COVID -19 started to ramp up, I contacted the insurance company to review my options. My e-mails were not returned and my phone call was returned after three days, with the service rep essentially saying "I don't know and we are too busy to help." We decided to cancel our trip as borders were starting to close and countries were being quarantined. Note, our policy included quarantine. On the advice of Seven Corners Facebook post (the only way we seemed to be able to get info) we canceled our flights and hotels, as they said it would expedite our claim. We filed our claim for some non-reimbursable tours. It took them six weeks to deny our claim without any explanation. I pushed for further clarification, and after another three weeks, they said the countries were not under quarantine, I sent them literature from France's embassy using the word quarantine. They came back with a revised denial saying we "canceled our trip", which we did under their advise. All of this took nine weeks to sort out. They only responded to my requests after I wrote a negative comment on their Facebook page. To sum up, slow, inconsiderate, customer service held up my claim and bad advice from them caused my claim to be denied. A waste of money and a lot of frustration! read more

Stay away from Seven Corners! I'm not even convinced at this point that it's a real travel insurance company. I purchased the Roundtrip Choice (AOS) plan from Seven Corners almost nine months ago for my trip from the US to the UK and France. My travel from the UK to France was derailed when France closed its borders to all tourists coming from the UK because of Covid. I bought a ticket back home to the US, and then sent all the receipts and information to Seven Corners, including screenshots of the news headlines about the border closing and all tourist travel being suspended. Nine months later, I still have not received any reimbursement from Seven Corners - the opposite - they closed my case instead! At first they sent automated e-mails just asking for the same documents over and over, and I kept re-sending them. No one could tell me what - if anything - was missing, only that I should keep re-sending the documents. And then finally they just closed my case. No one responds to my email follow-ups. When I call them, no customer representatives can provide me with any information - I've spoken to different representatives each time, and each one of them said they don't know the people reviewing my case, and there is no way to escalate or contact them. In the end, Seven Corners has wasted my time and money, has provided no helpful information, no reimbursement, and no way to escalate. It was an enormous waste of money and feels like fraud. I imagine Seven Corners will do the same to you as well - I would stay far away from them. read more

I found this company from AARP whom I plan to reach out and share my experience. So easy to sign up and get insurance last year. Then about 3 weeks after I had paid for the policy, Covid hit and the trip was cancelled. When I tried to get a refund on the insurance, they told me there was a two week cancellation window and then no refund. However, I had one year to take the trip and the policy would be honored. It is still impossible to travel internationally yet so they win. They didn't have to cover me and can just bank the money. Under the circumstances, I feel this is illegal on their part. I travel a lot and will continue to do so when it is possible again. Never will I use them. read more

Yes, my claim did take longer than I would have liked but it was during the middle of a pandemic with a likely massive amount of claims being submitted the wait wasn't really all that bad. The info that they requested/needed wasn't anymore than I expected. I was even able to talk with a live person when I called with questions or concerns. They were always helpful in guiding me through the process. I'm very happy to have chosen Seven Corners and I plan to do it again with my future travel needs. read more

Seven Corners is possibly the worst company I have ever interacted with and lack a great deal of integrity. I booked a trip and insured it with a Cancel For Any Reason policy. I unfortunately had to cancel the trip due to unforeseen personal circumstances. I filed a claim and submitted all appropriate documentation at the beginning of January. It took three months to receive any feedback, which I promptly responded to with additional documentation as requested. It was then another month and a half before I could get any resolution. This was only after multiple calls and a complaint with the better business bureau. They decided to not cover the cost of the trip because I used cash back points from a credit card. This is despite confirming with an agent multiple times that this would be covered. I received a dollar for dollar value and purchased flights with this credit, which is payment that I could have otherwise used on something else. It is my view that they have a clear strategy to make the process so cumbersome and delay payment or force you into the appeals process. Seven corners is not a company that you can trust to honor an agreement in good faith. I highly discourage anyone considering using them for travel related insurance. They are absolutely deserving of the one star rating. read more

Had to file a claim on my insurance due to serious family illness and the process is not going well. Hear nothing from them and then when I call to ask about my claim then requested to provide documentation that had provided 4 weeks earlier, almost as though no one read all of the PDFs I sent with my claim. Much more helpful and responsive when selling you a policy vs trying to get reimbursed for a legitimate and very well documented claim. Beware. The amount of duplicate and triplicate verification, and the hours of time needed, to provide what Seven Corners requires is absurd! Clearly you have no concern or value for your customers once a policy has been purchased. I am a permanent resident of Argentina and have not lived or worked in the US and have not filed a US tax return. I maintain health insurance in Argentina. I purchased travel health insurance for what was to be a short trip to the US in February of 2020. I had to extend the trip because of COVID travel restrictions, continued to renew the policy and paid the additional premiums. In June 2020, I had an unexpected cardiac emergency, which required many doctors, lab work, and hospitalizations. I submitted all of my medical expenses to Seven Corners Travel Insurance and received EBO's indicating that the claims were being processed and were under review by them. Then I received a call in September 2020 asking to see copies of my passport, which I provided and continued to pay premiums until I received a letter dated February 18, 2021 (a year later!) saying that I was not eligible for insurance because of duel citizenship and they denied all of my claims. Nowhere on the application I completed did it state the fact that you couldn't be a duel citizen! It appears to be buried on page 9 of an 87-page insurance police, which I find incredibly misleading to consumers. I am now receiving letters from Collection agencies for all of the past due medical bills that accrued while I was covered by Seven Corners. I appealed the decision and they denied it again! We bought a travel insurance policy through John Hancock (Seven Corners, Inc.) for a trip to China in March. This insurance was recommended by UTO Travel our tour company. Due to the Corona Virus the trip has been cancelled. The insurance company wants no part of any refund due to the fact that this is a "pandemic", although that is not specified in their literature. People buy travel insurance to cover them for any unforeseen circumstances. What a waste of $199! read more

ADVICE: STAY AS FAR AWAY FROM THEM. I took visitors insurance from Seven Corners Inc, for my in-laws when they visited us from India for 3 months. During this period my mother-in-law had a health condition for which she had to go to hospital to get a consulatation and blood test. We submitted the claims for this to Seven Corners Inc right after. We provided all the documents requested by them so far (copies of passport, claim form duly filled, and proof of her short vacation to Mexico . I have sent multiple emails to assist@sevencorners.com and claims@sevencorners.com inquiring about the same. After 6 months of making me run around, the claim has just been rejected stating pre-existing condition. I feel Seven Corners Inc is unreasonably denying the processing of claims, even after 6 months since the service date. When I took the insurance, I spoke to Seven Corners Inc, and they assured me the best of services, and unfortunately my experience by far has been anything but pleasant. It has been VERY VERY frustrating to spend so much time and energy first to get the claims processed, after paying the full premium diligently upfront, and now to fight the unreasonable denial. The most recent document that they asked for is a PF-3000 medical records release authorization form. I have no idea why this was not requested in the last 6 months. This has been the same experience so far, where every two months or so they ask me for new forms/copies anytime I try to get the status of my claim. Finally after making me run around for all these months for various unreasonable reasons, they just denied the insurance claim stating pre-existing condition! There is no pre-existing condition related to back pain which the insured experienced. She had a severe back pain and that is why she consulted the physician. The physician did some blood tests and concluded that it is nothing serious (like a heart attack) and she needs some rest. I am at a loss to understand how this is related to a pre-existing medical condition? At this point I have to assume that the insurance compoany does not want to pay up for the exact scenario for which we took the insurance from them. This is deceptive business practice, period. Too bad our laws are not strong enough to hold Insurance companies accountable. read more

To follow-up on my original post (jan 22, 2019). We filed an appeal to claims denial by Seven Corners. The primary care physician's note specifying that the condition is not attributable to a pre-existing condition. Seven Corners still upheld the denial by simply repeating their stance. I asked them for credentials and contact information of individuals making these determinations but I have not heard back from them. Again, all of you, PLEASE DO NOT PURCHASE anything from Seven Corners. Our bills ar close to 45k. You will be better off flying home business class to get treatment. Also, note that they denied cost of initial physician's visit as well. They did not pay for preventive flu vaccination saying policy doesn't cover those. They won't cover expenses related to keeping you healthy and they won't pay for anything if you fall sick. Just keep your insurance premiums. Have purchased seven corners travel insurance several times. Our recent trip to Turkey happened during the pandemic. Our airline Lufthansa cancelled our return flight leaving us hanging to find an alternate return to USA. We had to purchase one-way tickets to return home before borders were closed off. Seven Corners and Squaremouth both said that the trip interruption coverage did not cover flight cancellations due to pandemic. read more

They would not issue an additional "partial" refund of our trip fees because the trip wasn't cancelled due to the travel company, Explore America (another joke!) going bankrupt or defaulting. Taking our $$ for "fees" because of a pandemic that was out of our hands is shameful. I also lost my job before this and that was a reason for a refund, but once again there are stipulations. You had to be employed a year, full-time, to be eligible for a refund, which I was not. So because of that, they will not refund my money. The length of my employment has no relation to my kids' trip being cancelled. They are completely independent of each other. Any excuse to not refund my hard earned money. I have now been unemployed 9 months and could really use that money to pay rent and buy groceries. You disgusting, money-sucking bottom feeders make me sick and I hope you all rot in hell and your company goes bankrupt. You should be ashamed of yourselves. I lost my business of 11 years because of the pandemic but since I was self employed they say I don't qualify for a refund. Absolutely a disgusting company with abysmal customer service. I am not convinced they are even a real insurance company... I have submitted all the required documents over a year ago and am still calling back, being put on hold for 30 minutes and then being sent to voicemail where I leave my name and number and ask them to call me back, say its urgent etc. Not only do they never call you back, when you FINALLY get them on the phone after dedicating the better part of the week (month? YEAR?!) trying, they say the exact same thing: "Hmm it looks like we do, in fact, have all the required documents... Not sure whats going on here. I will send this back to our claim department with an escalation." and THEN NOTHING HAPPENS. No phone call, no email, no claim update on their website. NOTHING. So the cycle repeats.... Currently awaiting yet another callback from their supervisor. We'll see if that happens. I am reporting them to the Better Business Bureau now. I have decided that if my claims are not resolved in the coming weeks, I will have no choice but to launch legal action. read more

Seven Corners is inefficient and impossible to work with. I utilized them for travel insurance over the summer. I was hospitalized out of the country in June. Upon my return and recuperation I submitted the claims in July. I received a few checks in October...for very, very incorrect amounts. I submitted an appeal that month and was told I had to wait another 30 days. After more than 30 days in September, I emailed to ask about the status of my appeal. No reply. I called and was told it had "just been opened and was being worked on today" which I find coincidental and hard to believe. I was informed that I would have more information very soon. It is now December 4th, and after two more emails that have gone unanswered, I called again today. I was told that it was "still being worked on" and that I could "call anytime for a status update." When I log in online it merely says "received." The company still owes me over $250. The representative on the phone refused to give me his name, refused to copy me on the email he was sending to quality insurance, refused to give me a direct number to a supervisor or direct line to quality insurance, and refused to give me a more direct email address. He told me to keep emailing and calling "as often as I'd like." Trust me, this is NOT what I'd like to do. I travel often with large groups. But, trust me, you should avoid this company at all costs. Following the submission of this review, I will be filing an official complaint with the Better Business Bureau.
