Nearly she was leaving she got swelling in legs and we visited general doctor and paid $150 After raising a claim and wait over 5 months and spending lots of time in followup, finally my claim is denied saying pre-existing illness. This is a complete waste of money in terms of travel insurance. Like most bottom-rung insurers they will likely deny most claims. My mother was delayed and missed a connecting flight so they claimed the coverage would only provide $100.00 for reimbursable expenses, excluding the cost of a replacement flight. The cost of the policy was $50.00 which was meant to cover "trip delays". The really misleading part was that the policy covered the costs of replacement flights arising from "missed connections". But that coverage was only if the itinerary was part of a tour or cruise. This was not disclosed when the insurance was purchased. In this case, we weren't even speaking of a substantial cost, they denied coverage for approximately $300.00 for the later flight my mother had to take. STAY AWAY!!!!! PS- I responded to the message below and they just doubled down on the scam claiming they would cover meal replacements at an airport but no coverage for the $212.00 for the replacement flight (I only add this because it was not a substantial or exhorbitant claim). Don't bother with this insurance, they will make you pay a $50 premium to cover a $10.00 sandwich at an airport if you are delayed. read more

Will change denial reasons repeatedly, after proven false. Then go back to the original denial reason, that you already debunked 7 months prior! Now I get to re-submit all the documents showing I told them I had other policies again, and again, and again! For the last 7 months, Seven Corners has denied me based on the belief that I returned items. After 2 independent investigations through G4S and Optima, 3 way phone calls with Amazon, and hours of going through each and every item they believed was returned sending an additional 72 pages of proof on top of the original 90. Seven Corners just today, after 7 months of this being Seven Corners only denial reason, re-denied me. Of course not on anything returned because I've proven that, but they reverted to the original denial letter that claimed I had other providers that I did not tell them about. This was despite the fact that I have ALREADY proven THAT was false. I provided emails, investigation contacts, phone calls...you name it. I easily showed that from day one I had multiple policies through my emails and initial claim (I had 14 checked bags). On the initial claim report I listed that I had at least another policy (there is only room for 1). So, I then sent them each policy name, policy number, and their contact number. I gave them G4S's investigators number who was doing an investigation with AMEX..so again, they knew I had other carriers. This was given BEFORE they made a decision the FIRST time. There is absolutely no reason, no sane person, could possibly misinterpret me as trying to conceal I had other policies! None. So, when they first claimed this in the initial denial, I showed them stacks of documentation, showing otherwise. That's when they changed their denial reason to items being returned. I travel internationally often and dealing with Seven Corners Travel Insurance was one of the biggest nightmare I have had. We had to fly home early (trip interruption) because our daughter had a medical emergency. I called Seven Corners from abroad and was told to buy "comparable/like" airline tickets home and to submit all claims when we returned to the US. Upon returning, I filed all the paperwork and submitted everything they asked for. The only time Seven Corners responded was when I reached out to them. On average, it took two months for them to respond. When they did, they inundated us with additional paperwork and forms. I filled out and supplied everything they requested, and the response was always them asking for more paperwork and forms. It took a year for them to deny the claim. Even after I appealed the decision, they used loopholes to deny coverage, including reimbursing us for our return flight home. read more

I am generously giving the John Hancock policy sold through Seven Corners one star (JH didn't even earn that). I paid for a rather expensive CFAR policy hoping that I would never use it. Unfortunately I had a medical situation (documented by MD) and couldn't travel. I filed a claim with JH and FOUR months (staffing issues-not my problem) later they denied payment for lack of documentation of diagnosis and lodging payment. I resolved their bogus medical documentation claim. They refused payment on the lodging because they wanted a credit card or bank statement. Unfortunately I paid via wire transfer and JH wouldn't accept proof of payment of the lodging using a paid receipt from the safari operators although the JH website states "travel supplier invoice" as acceptable (JH website used this as an example). Bait and switch, bogus advertising or whatever, all I can say is NEVER USE JOHN HANCOCK for travel insurance-my opinion of Seven Corners is still developing. Absolutely terrible! Don't give them your money!! Absolutely terrible! I filed a claim back at the beginning of December with all the images needed, even bought the "Cancel for any reason", since we didn't know what was happening with the pandemic. I bought the John Hancock Agency Silver Plan. I called roughly 30days after to see the status and they apologized and said that they were actually running on a 52day turn around, so I gave them a little leeway. But then, I get an email in MARCH about needing additional images, so I sent them in AGAIN. I called to see how long it would take, they said an additional 30days from when I sent in those additional images. (I even highlighted the bank statements to dummy proof it). I was told it should be resolved by April 13th, it's now April 29th. I only just got off the phone once more and they said they will make a note to "expidite" my claim, so an ADDITIONAL 7 working days. This is ridiculous!!! This is such a fraud of a company. I just got back from a trip and I had unfortunately purchased insurance through them for it. That was before I was going through this claim process. I'm so thankful that I didn't have to make a claim. I will NEVER do business with them again. Go elsewhere! I'm having this much trouble on a claim that is less then $600 and I purchased "cancel for any reason". This was literally the worst experience ever. I filed a claim for getting COVID back in July on a trip - was planning to stay with friends but obviously could not when I tested positive. So I booked a hotel room and called Seven Corners to check on what my benefits were, they said it would be covered up to $1,000. Have spent the next 6 months on hold, emailing, and talking to various unhelpful customer service representatives. Each one has a different opinion and each time I'm missing something else or I should just wait a week and call back then. Seems like a deliberate and obvious scam - everything is insured allegedly until you actually file a claim. When looking at travel insurers make sure you only pay attention to reviews where claims were filed. We had a flight cancelled from Atlanta to Asheville NC after we'd been traveling for 28 hours straight from Germany. They rebooked our family of 5 all on separate flights over the course of two separate days including my 8 year old. It wasn't an option for her to fly alone. There was not a single rental car available in a 30 mile radius for drop off in Asheville so we hired a very expensive Uber. In my claim I made clear that we were not expecting full reimbursement but did expect some kind of relief. Maybe fair market value of a rental car driven 200 miles (even though none were available). They denied our claim because they only cover "local" transportation. How in the world am I supposed to get home from Germany using only local transportation?? I guess they expected us to stay in Atlanta and fly one by one back to Asheville over two days with my 8 and 12 year olds by themselves. I'll never use this company again and will happily tell anyone who brings up the subject of travel insurance about my experience. in Dec. 2018 I was super sick in San Francisco, CA and called Seven Corners to go to a medical center within their coverage. The person I talked to on the phone misled me and advised me to go to the emergency room at a medical center nearby saying that Seven Corners would cover it. I asked many many times to the person on the phone if they were sure my insurance policy would cover that type of visit and they say YES, it would. In August 2019, I get an email saying my claims have been paid - which made sense since that is what I told over the phone. However, in January 2020, I get an email from the medical center that I have an outstanding balance of over 2000 USD. The only evidence I have is the call and a witness of the call - however, Seven Corners' has deleted the recording and won't come through. Do not use Seven Corners - They told me they would cover my medical visit many times over the phone only to find out a year later, and even after getting email that they have paid my claims, that I have medical debt that they refuse to take care of. read more

Very affordable policy and was happy with the communication I received when bag stolen abroad. Didn't need to use health insurance but liked having. I filed a claim with a police report for a bag with ipad/ebook/wallet and some clothes that was stolen. They've been trash. With a missed connection I've been asking for help with I lack good enough documentation? Spoiler- they won't reimburse on technology, and you won't find out clear info on what your policy covers until your claim is processed. They advised me to re-purchase what was stolen, to send receipts then they'd review reimbursement. ?! I did reluctantly. Its a janky way to do business and I lost $2k of items and their processing gave me $100 this last week (again this is 4.5 months after submitting all forms requested, and almost 10 months after theft). The practicality of trying to replace 2k of stolen items only to receive 5% from insurance is insulting. My renters insurance when I had things stolen was not this scummy, compensating me for items lost with depreciation, check received within 60 days of theft. Seven corners took more than 4 months to review my claims (said would be MAX 45 DAYS. I know its COVID, that is obviously fine but doesn't seem to be the only issue. My incident occurred in November, well before covid, I began filing claims then, just couldn't repurchase items until later.) I'm just upset because I've had to call back 4 times in the past four months when dates they promised went by. The policy of replacing your items then asking them to reimburse you is wild to me, and unlike any other insurance I've used. The bag was stolen in November but I couldn't replace items abroad, so months passed between incident and replacement, and now resolution was 5% of losses. This company has not responded to our requested claim. They sold us trip cancellation and trip interruption insurance for $800+ and we our trip was cut short because India, Bhutan, and Nepal closed their borders, airports, and tourist sites on March 25 with only two days notice. We had to get a new flight home as fast as possible and barely got out of there. We had paid for our trip completely and now they are saying it is not covered because Covid 19 wasn't listed. On october 6th we woke up and a historic storm for the region a cat 4 hurricane delta was headed directly for cancun airport later that day. Our flight was the last flight in, and the airport was closing at 5. All resorts were evacuating inland and we would have been stuck in the middle of the storm forced to stay at the airport. To mitigate loss and protect our family we cancelled. This is what you are suppose to do, you make sure a loss doesn't get worse by mitigating damage for the insurance company. However, this company wanted us to put our lives in danger for this to pay. How sane is that? How completely awful of a message for a company to send than telling a family they should have put their lives at risks, in order for them to do anything. This company is truly the epitome of the worst things in this country and the individuals that stand by and work for such a shameful company are just as much to blame. We purchased an insurance policy for a trip to Bali. Due to the virus, the airline has cancelled the flight from SFO to Hong Kong. (Cathay Pacific). Hong Kong has closed it's borders to all foreigners. The US and California are on lockdown Plus, the State Dept. has issued a LEVEL 4 warning regarding not to travel. My wife and I had planned to travel to Greece in April 2020 and to England in June 2020. Due to the COVID 19 pandemic both trips were cancelled and fees and deposits were refunded. I had purchased travel insurance for the trip to Greece from Travelex and I had purchased travel insurance for the trip to England from Seven Corners. When I notified Travelex of the trip cancellation, the company immediately cancelled the policy and refunded the premium. When I notified Seven Corners of the trip cancellation, they refused to refund any of the premium. My wife and I travel frequently and I had purchased travel insurance from Seven Corners in the past, although I have never had a claim with them. I suspect any claim filed with Seven Corners would be very difficult to collect. I will not insure another trip with Seven Corners, and I recommend that other travelers do the same. read more

I got seven corners insurance for my mom. I found this insurance company to be very inefficient. Unfortunately, during my mom's stay in the US she needed some physiotherapy. I filed a claim with seven corners and now we are going on with the 7th month without the claim being resolved. Seven corners keep putting the claim in some review, first it was medical review, then something else, now they they say they are in a carrier review or something. No idea what is all that means. In the meanwhile, I keep getting threatening calls from the service provider to pay the medical bills for their service. Seven corners asked me not to pay them till the claim is resolved. Seven Corners doesn't even deserve a 1 star rating. Their customer service (chat, phone, email) is sub par. And they do not honor their policy commitments. We purchased the Seven Corners "Round Trip Choice" plan with Cancel for Any Reason. When we decided we had to cancel our trip, we contacted Seven Corners to get the claim paperwork as we could not get this through their website. We were initially sent the wrong paperwork - and if I had not reviewed the forms in detail - we would have filed the wrong claim. But, I did figure it out and asked again to get the correct claims forms. In addition, the plan documentation is quite fuzzy - you must ask specific questions to determine what you need to file the claim - and when the claim must be filed by. For example, the plan documentation states a Cancel for Any Reason Claim must be filed -2- days in advance of the start of your trip. So, if you happen to live in San Francisco and your trip starts on a Friday at 5pm, one would assume they must file by the prior Wednesday before 5pm. WRONG. After numerous calls and chats, we finally learned that you must file a Cancel for Any Reason by 12:01 Eastern time (EST, EDT), which means you would to file your claim -3- days prior to your Friday 5pm departure - by 8:01pm Pacific time on Tuesday. Getting this information from the Customer Service Rep is like having a root canal without getting numb first - very painful and time consuming. They offer no information unless you happen to ask the correct question. Having filed the claim and all kinds of paperwork, we waited to hear back form Seven Corners. Indeed, we received confirmation from DocuSign that Seven Corners had received our claim. But trying to chat via their website, or talk to a rep (who have no idea what they are talking about) we are left hanging. Now, almost 2 months later - we still can not find out what is happening with our claim. And it appears we may be out close to $5,000. Beware - stay away from Seven Corners. read more

Unfortunately, I had to to use medical assistance for me and my family. However, Seven Corners denied the payment of all my claims since the middle of this year because of lack of medical records, but did not inform me about this. The result is that now I have many bills arriving home. Last week I found out that I could send the medical records myself (and not using their system that does not work well). Although I have sent them directly the medical records last week, they said they will still take 30 days to process them. However, the claims are very old. The problem is that I am returning to my home country next month, and I cannot pay the full bills. Although I explained to Seven Corners all these problems, they did not accept to speed up the review of my (old) claims, even having the full documentation. For almost 12 months i have been in contact with this company for a $300-400 hospital bill. Part of my claim was rejected because their travel insurance doesn't cover really any losses or costs (taxi, hotel, ticket modification etc) related to an illness during your trip (which would be the definition of a travel insurance), but they only cover medical expenses. But my hospital bill is still not refunded, I don't get real answers from their customer service, and i cannot even access my account anymore online to see progresses, documents, anything. I have this insurance as an au-pair in the USA. I had to visit a doctor because of a sudden disease in Washington DC. We called the number on my insurance card to find out where is the closest urgent care center, but both of which were recommended us didn´t wanna accept Seven Corners, so we had to pay out of our pocket. When I claimed the money later (with all those receipts and everything!) they rejected all the claims because, as someone wrote here already, "they were unable to get information from the providers". The second time I needed to visit urgent care in New Hampshire, they accepted Seven Corners, but after 1 month the urgent care center sent me the statement with no cover by Seven Corners. Been trying to get in contact with Seven Corners for months regarding a claims I have. I bought the plan, "Cover America Gold" - but the gold was gilded. This plan has been nothing but a disappointment. Mom was admitted for a UTI- which seven corners claimed was related to a pre-existing condition hence non of the bills were paid.. at this point i have just let it go and have the bills go to collections... you cant even file a Department of Insurance complaint since they're covering non-US citizens... When they say read the reviews first, now I understand what it really means and how important this is! I have purchased 4 travel insurance plans with this SCAM company! Yes, you heard it right 4! I resided outside the US but travelled often to the US for school exchange programs and tourism. I spent more than $3,000 that I could have just donated to the homeless or the needy. My first time purchasing a policy everything went well. I barely visited the doctors office, same for the second and third time even if it took at least 3 to 6 months for a claim to be processed. I even recommended this company to some friends and even purchased policies for family members who were travelling abroad. Little did I know, this company only works when you basically NEVER get sick or just have small bills claimed, smh. Things went very bad on my fourth policy when DURING my coverage, I got diagnosed with cancer. All my claims got denied because of somehow pre-existing conditions!!! Apparently, based on the SO CALLED professional medical team (fictive I guess), the cancer was in me for up to 36 months before being diagnosed by the doctors! I laughed when I saw that statement. I am a researcher, a scientist, and I know that even the person that did not go to school would not have drawn those conclusions! In SEVENCORNERS WORLD, you can have cancer for 36 months, know it, live with it, yet not get medical attention until you purchase a policy with their MIGHTY insurance company to get your medical expense covered!!! This is NONSENSE! Who in their right mind would play with their health like that? Risking their life? Now there is more than a $150,000 in claims that have been denied even after my appeal. I doubt they even take the time to get the cases reviewed by REAL doctors, scientists, oncologists in my case. They are HEARTLESS, UNPROFESSIONAL and deserve minus 10 stars in review if I could give it to them. Please, I beg you, save your money and go purchase a policy with a company that takes your matters at heart and processes your claims ON TIME and will not add to the stress that you already go through not knowing if you will make it out alive. Honestly, I've had an excellent experience working with Seven Corners. Before buying the policy, I was skeptical to purchase it given all the negative feedback I read. But I had 3 incidents so far this year and they've got me covered. The way to go about this is as follows: 1) BEFORE getting your medical treatment/visit, ask them who are they affiliated with in your area/zip code. email their support unit on assist @ sevencorners.com 2) DURING: you can use one of their affiliates on the list, they're generally good doctors/hospitals. 3) AFTER: if you are using one of their affiliates, they will coordinate directly for the paper work. They will settle their part of the payment directly. Otherwise, if you're not using one of their affiliates, you need to make sure you submit a "Medical Form" with ALL supporting documents. Your payment gets processed within 5 weeks. Their online portal is clear and well done. Their call center is always helpful too. Hope this helps! read more

Filed a claim 8 months ago and still pending. This was an ordinary, covered expense through a direct network provider. The hospital's international billing department was not able to get a response from seven corners after trying many mediums. I had to do all the legwork while sick. I have gotten seven corner coverage for travels to canada multiple times. The last time we were there my son came down with a pneumonia and we had to use emergency treatment. The hospital wanted me to pay upfront which i did. I filed on line by uploading the claim form. It took them 2 weeks to show it online that it was been received. And upon calling them they said the processing time is at least 60 days. I don't think this is a good start. I am thinking, they wouldn't let me be late for the premium for more than a week. From what i read on yelp, they are just interested in collecting premiums and holding their side of the coin. I also read some reviews where the author claims satisfaction without actually having gone through the process of a claim This is rip-off money pit interested in selling unkept trust to anxious insurance clients. read more
