Max has been a life long friend with amazing skills. He is one out of two people I trust to cut my hair. So when my daughter wanted a fresh cut, I got in contact with him to schedule an appointment. We went in on March 29th at 430pm. His salon is beautiful. It looks glamorous! Beautiful shiny white floors! Big mirrors at every station for clients to see, bright lights, high ceiling with nice light fixtures... it is just all around STUNNING! When you first walk in, you'll see the front desk with product lines up behind it (I am a sucker for when things are satisfying to the eye) and he greets you & tells you to sit in his chair. The one closest to the front desk. My daughter sat down and her hair was too the middle of her back. She has dark brown with neon green fading into yellow underneath. He asked her what she would like to do and also asked if she had any pictures. After seeing her vision, he instantly took off about 4-5 inches of length (so satisfying to watch). He then went around and touched up some edges, took her back to wash it, and continued to cut wet. He then blew dried and cut a bit more before asking what she thought and offered doing it a few more different ways, but all the while, making sure it was what she wanted. Had the most immaculate service ever... Upon walking into the salon, I was greeted by Max and asked how I am and what brings me in today... and told Max, "I'm here for a haircut, and possibly a new change in hair color for the holidays, and would you help me look good that'll compliment my skin." And sure did, Max eased my nervousness and gave me some ideas on styles what I liked my hair to be done... To make matters even more exciting, I was even offered a wine complimentary by the salon... and to be honest, I've never had an experience walking into a salon ever to offer me a wine... Sweet! I was in Roseville for my sister's wedding and needed my hair to look somewhat presentable since my flat iron is MIA. Found this gem on Yelp & decided to contact them via the app for availability as well as pricing. Max got back to me pretty quickly saying he had availability with Sherri for the day of the wedding at 10 am. Perfect! A bit of back & forth with replying on the app happened, but I found that extremely convenient as I was very busy with preparations for the wedding. Didn't need anything spectacular, just a wash & straight style. Met Sherri the next day and she was as sweet as could be! I was in and out in about 45 minutes. She kept checking with me of how I wanted my hair styled but I told her it was up to her, I'm easy. She gave me some great hair tips too! We had a nice conversation while she was styling it. It turned out great & I got a lot of compliments. THE GOOD, THE BAD AND THE UGLY. THE GOOD. Maxim was congenial, entertaining and appeared to understand my wishes. As a new client, I brought a picture to give him a general idea of the style I wanted. I specified that I wanted a Sassoon style blunt, layered cut except for fringe bangs and sides to frame and soften my "elderly" face. I emphatically asked him not to cut the bangs so that I looked like the little Dutch Boy because I didn't appreciate paying for a psychotic break for two weeks until the bangs grew out. Max's response - the difference between a bad haircut and a good haircut is two weeks. I also told him that I style my hair with a heated round brush. I thought we were in agreement on these points. THE BAD. This was the first time I'd driven for six months after a life threatening incident. I got lost and was late. I'd been chopping my hair so told him to take off what he needed to even out the chops. It didn't occur to me that he would (unnecessarily) cut my bangs too short, cut off the fringe away from the sides of my face and texturize what might have been a decent blunt layer. He told me that I didn't need to use a hot brush because I have curly hair, Au contraire, I have very straight hair so texturizing has made using a hot brush challenging and, without styling efforts, my hair now simply looks scraggly. He used a flat iron to give it shine and volume so I didn't notice these defects until I saw the cut at home. THE UGLY. That would be me with VERY short Dutch Boy bangs, no face fringe and minimal volume. The former fringe bangs that just brushed the tops of my eyebrows now are so short I've had to buy eyebrow makeup not to appear as though I'm an escapee from a secure facility. When my friends saw me, they were so shocked that all they could say was "What happened to your hair?" To afford Maxim the benefit of the doubt, I've waited more than two weeks to write this review. Sadly, given that hair generally grows between .2 and .7 inches per month, it likely will be closer to two months before I stop crying sporadically and not wanting to go out because I now have the least flattering, ugliest haircut ever in my 76 years. read more

Went in today for a badly much needed haircut. Saw Amy and she did miracles with my hair. I was able to tell her what I wanted, she gave some tips and it came out looking better than it ever has. She took nearly 1 foot of hair off, and it's still long and so much healthier!! I watched this stylist cut hair on two clients before me (2 different appointments) and they were almost identical. Guess what? it's what I got, too. I've been going to Seven Hair Design for close to a year now (I think?) Before that, for years I've colored my own hair and would get a trim, oh, every six months? (My hair was pretty long):) It was functional, and I frequently received compliments on the color). That said, I decided it was time to try a more professional route. After three unsatisfactory (and very expensive) trips to another salon at the Fountains ($$$) I came to Yelp (yet again!) and found Seven Hair Design. I mean, who could pass up at least checking Seven Hair Design out based on all the awesome reviews!? Kathy has been my stylist since I started going there, and from the first visit she has always shown herself to be a very personable and skilled stylist. EVERY time I leave the salon, I am very happy with the style and color. (I just wish I could style my hair as good as she does. :) My color is just right; Kathy always makes suggestions and we sometimes mix it up a little depending upon the time of year and the mood I'm in. Kathy and I have this ritual where after she's done with me, she drags me out to the parking lot with a big hand mirror so that I can see my color in the direct sunlight. :D I'm sure it looks odd to passersby and other tenants, but it's cool to see how my hair looks away from the salon chair (and indoor lighting). I always get a kick out of our little routine. I've been very happy with Seven Hair Design. I receive quality service and results without the expensive prices I've paid at the more 'trendy' salons. Seven Hair Design is conveniently located and the atmosphere is friendly and professional. Other clients I see there all seem happy. I look forward to my visits because I know that Kathy and I will always have some interesting stories to exchange and I will walk out looking good and feeling awesome. I tried to get away with a cheapy haircut last time (I won't name names but it rhymes with Crate Glips) and I wasn't too happy with the result. Lesson learned. It's tough for men to go anywhere to get our hair cut other than a barber shop. Melinda cuts my entire family's hair. Does a fantastic job on everybody and is very good with the clippers. Both my son and I have some pretty vicious cow licks and we walk out there every time looking sharp. Just got a cut yesterday and my 4 year old was getting lots of attention from all the women in the salon because he was full of smiles and his hair was perfect! Melinda is super fast as well which allows me to slip in and out & get right back to work. Shes not just fast though. She pays attention to detail. Blending a fade properly is an art of its own and she's got it down. Men if you want a precision hair cut them check Melinda out. She just doesn't do men's hair of course. As. I get my hair cut every two weeks and I can always count on Lindsey to provide me the best customer service. She is always engaging in conversation (just don't talk to her about cars, she has no clue ha ha) and fun to be around. One of the best things about going to Lindsey is you never feel rushed. I had been searching for my stylist for what seemed like forever, until I finally found Max! My hair is very thick and very dark but I told him "make me blonde". I had filled him in on what previous stylists had done and what I wasn't happy with. It took me a long time (and a lot of heartache) to realize that fancy-schmancy salons don't always have the best stylists.
