To call Eddie's Place a dive bar doesn't quite do it justice. That makes it sound like some decrepit old watering hole that gave up on itself years ago, and that's not the case here. Eddie's, established in the early 70s, feels more like a career criminal who found religion, just got out, and now swears he's trying to get his life together. Would a true dive keep a decades-old black-and-white tube TV around so you can watch your car? Additional amenities include an ATM, a combination photo booth/jukebox, and even a cell phone charging station, which means Eddie somehow supports bad decisions and the evidence they leave behind. This isn't Eddie's Bistro or Eddie's Café, it's just his Place, so don't show up expecting anyone to cook for you. Aside from chips, the bar skips food altogether. Still, Eddie's plays to its strengths: it encourages you to bring your own food or order in, as long as you keep the bartenders busy. "Cocktails" arrive in ribbed plastic cups, but shots and beer arrive in proper glassware, which is this bar's version of caviar service. A free pool table anchors the room, while one corner hosts beer pong and another area for old-timers to throw darts. Drinks run from $6 to $12, and Happy Hour sweetens the deal with 2-for-1 wells until 8 p.m. That special feels a little sad Monday through Wednesday, when the bar opens at 7 PM. However, it absolutely slaps Thursday through Sunday, when doors open at 2 PM. I rolled in after The Mandalorian & Grogu, which is exactly the kind of demoralizing movie that demands a drink. It was Goth Night, although the DJ seemed to be the only person who got the memo. She kept the room moving with dark house and classic goth tracks, giving the Place the energy of a house party with a fog machine and a hit-heavy playlist. Eventually, she veered from Bauhaus and Combichrist into Bruno Mars and Calvin Harris, which felt less like genre betrayal and more like a Wedding DJ loosening their tie. Nice little dive bar!!! My friend suggested this place that he goes to near his place. It's a small bar but they definitely decorated for Halloween. They only had one pool table but it was free. The drinks were a great price and they even had a jukebox. I honestly think I spent more on picking songs than the drinks we had. Overall we had a great time and we will be back again. This hole in the wall bar is in the most unexpected area, it is definitely a dive bar but the best one around. I love coming here to close the night with fun drinks and some good music. The security guard outside the door was extremely rude and not welcoming. Tall bald fat guy. This used to be my favorite bar and I would go every single month for goth night, even have participated in the costume events and always supported the bar. I came with 10 people to celebrate my friend's birthday that was going to come and the security guard said we were not allowed inside because we were hanging out in the parking lot. I'm a bit confused because I have been coming here since last year and that's never been an issue and there was also other people hanging out outside???? I asked what if we all individually buy a drink from the bar and he said no. mind you, I peeped inside when someone opened the door and it was empty inside, confused on why he's turning away customers. My friend said but we are a big group ready to support the bar? and his response was "now you're really not going to get inside I don't like your fucking attitude. She's stank as fuck" and I was in pure disbelief my jaw dropped. This has never happened to me throughout all the times I've come here monthly. I used to always bring a huge group to goth nights and it's really discouraging how this ruined something we were all looking forward too. Stopped in one Friday night on our way home from a fancy steak dinner. My wife was not ready to go home. I pulled to Eddies hoping she would be put off by the dive bar vibe and want to go home sooner than later. We had an amazing evening filled with copious amounts of whiskey shots and some of the most entertaining Karaoke I've ever experienced. The drinks are comparatively inexpensive although the selection is somewhat limited. We didn't experience any of the negative attitudes mentioned in other reviews. In fact, the young lady who was serving us was quite friendly and quick to refresh our drinks. The cast of characters that were participating in the Karaoke were very entertaining. Especially, Lobster Boy. It takes a lot of courage to go up and sing, i never summoned up the courage to do it myself. Maybe next time. A good, open till' 5 am spot nothing more, nothing less. Female bartender in unnecessarily aggressive, nosey and doing the most. She had a huge ego trip, and just takes it way too far when it came to keeping customers in line. She was acting more like a security guard or bathroom attendant making sure people weren't in the bathroom for too long. At one point accusing me of "rolling a blunt" because she saw tobacco on the floor. It was ridiculous, and she should really focus more on making drinks and staying behind the bar considering how busy it gets, and how swamped the rest of the bartenders are. My experience was truly the opposite of the laid back vibes I come here for. I've enjoyed coming here in the past, but I just don't appreciate the general hostility in the air here. read more

Never in my life have I come to a bar like this. Came with a friend during happy hour (5-7pm buy one get one drink) and it was alright. Put some music on the juke box, played free pool and had a few cheap drinks. It was very empty, just a few others there when I was there. I honestly love that we have one of these in this area, but it was really dead on a Tuesday night. Bartender said it wasn't usually that slow. They are open till 5am EVERYDAY. The drinks are cheap! I love Eddies. I love the bartenders, Corey, Rob, Melba, and Theresa and the bar back, Joe. The regulars have become good friends, the karaoke host Walt is a gem. The drinks and shots are dirt cheap. The vibe is constantly "come as you are, and come to have fun". I come here as often as every week to sing karaoke, but it never gets old. Everyone is friendly and happy. It's easy to come here and meet people who can hold a conversation and share laughs with. I'll be honest, I used to frequent WAY more expensive and far places (downtown, Brickell, etc) and haven't missed them for a moment since. Another favorite aspect of me for Eddies is that they have something fun every night. Poker on Mondays. Karaoke Tuesdays. Game night on Wednesdays. Thursdays are for Beer Pong.
