I've had some of my best nights here at Seven Seas. My friends and I usually go during Kareoke night. The drinks are cheap and it's an extremely fun spot. Only downfall is that it's so popular during Kareoke night that if you like to sing, you won't get a lot of opportunities onstage....but hey, there's always the pool table too! Very nice chill Bar with a great atmosphere. This what your local bar should be. Drink are at a reasonable price and bartenders are very friendly. I was there on a Saturday and they have Karaoke and place get crowded but you can still move in and out comfortably just come early so you can secure a good spot. They only reason why I didn't rate a 5 is because the DJ for the karaoke is not the nicest to deal with don't ask him any question cause he will respond in the rudest way. Karaoke DJ is a jerk. I understand that a bar is going to "take care" of regulars, but this guy is a joke and a half. He looks and acts like the Comic Book Guy from the Simpsons, and thinks he's far funnier than he actually is. His buddies went up over and over again, and we were subjected to the DJ's endless, out-of-tune "joining in". Terrible. My wife and I were skipped over several times, and only after we asked him where we stood did he call us to go. When we did get up, he yelled at me for joining her, saying my name wasn't on the slip (even though it was). At that point, I cursed him out in front of the whole bar, and our large group left. You'll never see us again, Seven Seas... whether you realize it or not, you've lost a ton of business due to this guy's selfishness. Better find yourself a new DJ... they're a dime a dozen and this guy is bottom of the barrel. As for you Yelpers, don't waste your time. The Karaoke Selection is very current and the crowd seemed to be up for anything....even my terrible Billy Idol duet. I looooove me a good dive bar - and Seven Seas did not disappoint. Major bonus points for karaoke, the pool table and giant Jenga game. More bonus points for the comfy 'living room' in the back with the big screen TV, board games, books and strange naked lady posters and memorabilia from the 70's. This place has tons character and is full of characters - everyone seems to know each other but were very welcoming to the newbies sniffing around their territory on a random Saturday afternoon. I love that this place has parking and clean bathrooms. The bartenders are sweet hearts. The prices were decent. The cash only is kind of inconvenient, especially when you have no cash and their ATM machine is on the frizz, but there's a gas station a few blocks up on the corner that has a money machine. Sadly Seven Seas is kind of far from me, but I will definitely be stopping by again the next time I'm in the neighborhood. Keep the beer cold for me! read more

Although this place is a little run down and uses broken toilets in lieu of actual chairs on it's back patio, it's not exactly a shit hole. It's just kitschy. Don't believe me? When you go inside, look up, there's a bunch of shoes glued to one panel on the ceiling -- why? Who knows. But go with it and all of 7 Seas other quirks -- the nautical knickknacks, the overtly gregarious Thursday night karaoke party (which is pretty fun and hey, $9 pitchers of Amber Bock is not too shabby of a deal either), even accept the androgynous dude who walks around with a single feather earring. If you do, believe me, you'll have a good time. You might even catch yourself uttering "ArRrRgGGhhh, matey" after a few drinks. But who am I kidding? Just because you're drinking at a bar called 7 Seas doesn't mean you're going to channel a pirate as soon as you get drunk! I mean, who *doesn't* start talking like a scurvy-ridden, scallywaggin' sea rover after a few pints? I know I do. And I'm 100% sane. Dirty and local....it's a dive bar can't expect champagne and classy music huh ? So we really wanted to get drunk and that was the safest and closest bar to me at the time. It was a Saturday night and there was karaoke going on which was pretty cool. The vibe was pretty welcoming, friendly drunks - love that. It seems like lots of locals and UM kids frequent this spot. Would check out. I did order a drink and I guess that water spray thing they use in the bars must of been dirty and disgusting because fruit flies were swimming in my margarita. I would give this place 0 stars. They don't give turns for kareoke..... And the guy in charge is just rude. My friend had a turn and she was good at singing .... Because me and my friend signed up together (because of nerves) since she already went he wouldn't give me a turn...... Not saying we had to go back to back but it took an hour and a half to go..... and the man in charge of kareoke when approached was just plan rude about it .... Creepy atmosphere... I saw some good reviews about this place and I decided to give it at try. I got here yesterday at around 12 for lunch, I was starving when I walked in. I ordered the salmon with tostones and spinach to go - it wasn't as good as I thought it would be. These guys claim their seafood is fresh but the salmon tasted and smelled a bit off. I'll go easy with the review because I probably just got the one in a thousand salmons that was incidentally almost spoiled. read more

This place is a true classic! And you never get the same experience when you go here! The crowd is awesomely mixed with young and old, and every type of person you might find in miami. This place is awesome. I only go for the karaoke because it is a little far from my house, but the vibe is great. It isn't super trendy like almost all of the other karaoke bars I have been to that are loaded with lame college kids trying to be cool. The regulars are great and the drink prices are affordable. Okay, so this review is LONGGG overdue. I have been going to this bar now for 3 years. My boyfriend introduced me to this place when we first began dating. Now we are regulars! This dive bar is great! There are all kinds of people and everyone is free to be. It's one of the realest places I have ever been to. You will definitely make friends here. The bars busiest days are Karaoke nights with Bernie every Tuesday, Thursday and Saturdays. Thursdays and Saturdays are typically the most packed. Karaoke with Bernie is a big hit in this bar. People usually come here just for that! The main bartender, Vanessa, is the sweetest. That girl works hard and never slacks off! With as busy as the night is going, you are promised to be attended within 3 minutes of waiting at the bar. She is QUICK! The Karaoke DJ, Bernie, is well known. He has thousands of songs to pick from. He is constantly updating his books and he usually always has the song you are looking for. Smoking is permitted inside the bar so if you don't like smoke (like me) then you have 2 choices: Go outside between songs to get some fresh air, or just don't come at all. On busy days it can get a little irritable, but you are welcomed to sit outside for a bit. There is no food being served; however, there is a Duffy's right next door or 1909 Cafe can deliver. You can bring food inside the bar if you'd like. There is a pool table but I have to warn you: people can get a little competitive. There is a chalk board where you put down your names for the next game (Use it or you won't be playing). Watching is always fun. Aside from seating inside, there are 3 tables up front with a few chairs and some seating in the back. Don't be freaked out by the old toilets with plants... this is what 7 Seas is about. Now, for the more critical things such as cleanliness. Please do not expect to come here and think it's any regular bar. This place is more about heart than looks. It is clean inside, it is just older and a little run down. But that is what makes it original. It is vintage looking with old school pictures and posters. There will be some random things like an old cigarette dispenser, shoes and scratch off tickets glued to the roof, a random piano by the back and an old school car up front with some lights on it. You will have so much fun here if you just let loose. The locals are awesome, the owners are great, the bartender and KJ rock and people are just free to sing whatever they'd like. If you haven't been here, I recommend you try it out. it's not for everyone, but for some it is the place to be almost every other day. Check it out! You may just fall in love. read more

I had family over for the weekend and my cousins husband loves karaoke so thanks to Yelp, we found Seven Seas. Good dive bar, people inside the bar had a great time except for one bad experience. There was an older man who was completely wasted and begged (literally) my cousins husband to go on stage with him to sing with him (although it was not a duet song). The drunk man even asked the DJ if he can bring someone on stage and the DJ didn't seem to care. Because my cousins husband is a good sport, he sang with the drunk man however, by doing this he lost his turn to sing. I didn't think it was fair but the DJ did not care and was very rude. I don't ever go to bars, but my best friend took me to seven seas and I fell in love! The ambiance was really cool and comfortable, and people really friendly. I went on a Saturday night, which we all know is karaoke night :D! The crowd is very involved and supportive with those who go up to sing. Yes they allow smoking, but I hardly noticed the smell. I think the only downside (which I think everyone will agree) is that it's a very small space, so when it gets packed, it can get a little hot and sticky. But if you don't mind that sort of thing then this place is absolutely perfect! Will definitely go back very soon! read more
