The taproom, by contrast, is a fraction of the size of the outdoor space, but equally well decorated and chill. Several high top tables, a few seats at a small bar, a view of the brewing tanks... Most importantly the beer is excellent. My girlfriend and I stopped in on an early Friday afternoon in August and had a few 4 and 7 oz pours of different beers. Tall Oaks recently won a few awards in the inaugural New Jersey Brewers Cup, so we tried a few of their award winning beers, among others. My personal two favorites were the Cottage (English Session Ale on nitro) which won bronze in the European amber/dark lager category, and the Influencing Hope (hazy IPA) which won bronze in the hazy IPA category. One nitpicky thing: the tv displayed only part of the menu, and the full menu was printed on several stained and natty sheets of paper on clipboards. Didn't quite match the elegance elsewhere in the brewery. On top of the great vibes and great beer, there is ample parking, two immaculate bathrooms, friendly service and great people at the helm (Mike and Chelsey) who put real thought and pride into their beer and creating a space for the community. This is definitely one of the top breweries in NJ.

We both got flights ($16 each), and I chose the coconut stout, Party of 9, the sour, and the hard seltzer. Even though I'm not really a beer person, I really enjoyed the two I tried! The coconut stout was creamy and smooth, not bitter at all, and the Party of 9 was light and crisp. They also sell their beers in crowlers to go--everything except the seltzer. The only downside was that around 2 PM, a bunch of big groups started coming in, and poor Dee seemed super overwhelmed handling everything alone. I really hope they consider adding another bartender for Saturday afternoons. Overall, we had a great experience and will definitely be back to try more of their seasonal flavors!

The blueberry milkshake IPA was inventive and delicious, the Ultra Strata and the Ultra Cashmere were both smooth and outstanding, and the Fat Elvis... Oh my goodness. What a wild ride that one is. Sweet, thick, decadent, and just oh so dangerously good. The taplist was vast, inventive and full of variety, with some styles that are hard to find at the average NJ brewery. When we arrived at the three-story space, we immediately headed up to the rooftop first. The top floor was open to the elements and overlooked a strip mall just below, but with a further gaze, we were able to see the Shark River. There was a bar and a few tables, as well as a lounge area with couches and cushioned armchairs, which we were thankfully able to snag. The layout was fun and allowed us to converse with other patrons sitting across the coffee table from us. The one thing I did not love about the roof, however, was that it functioned as almost an entirely different venue. Meaning that they had only a few small plates for food options and very few beers on tap. They did not even offer flights, but focused mainly on cocktails. Fine, I had a mixed drink with mezcal, Aperol, and watermelon, which was an excellent smoky and sweet margarita, but I had wanted to sample their beers since it was a brewery. After our initial round of drinks, we decided to head down to the second floor, rustic taproom to sample more of their menu. The place was packed with diners, but, since we did not have a reservation, we were nervous that we would not receive a table. Thankfully, two seats opened at the bar, so we grabbed those. Unfortunately, by that point, I did not want to drink anymore, so I did not get to try their beers (except a sip of the Swell, which was a bit too hoppy of a hazy IPA for my liking), but I was hungry enough to get a dinner entree. The friendly bartender took our order and ensured all of our customizations were noted, but the food still wound up awful. I had selected the Tzatziki Salmon with the yogurt sauce on the side. The fish was cooked well, but way too heavily salted. It was served with orzo that was overcooked, dry, bland, and stuck together in clumps. I was shocked they even served something that looked so unappetizing. There were also a bunch of roasted brussels sprouts that had a funny flavor and appeared to have been previously frozen. Then, when I thought it could not get any worse, the tzatziki seemed curdled, so I was glad that I had ordered it on the side. My partner's burger came with a single piece of bacon that was all fat and not even remotely crispy. While the food was terrible, the service was nice, and I really enjoyed my cocktail and the vibe at the Beach Haus Brewery, so I decided to give it 3 stars, but I am clearly being generous.

A large merch area. High top tables. Regular tables. Immaculate bathrooms. This place has it all. My girlfriend and I came out on a Saturday afternoon when the place was packed with families and their kids. There was a toddler in the small 21+ lounge and a baby in the sports zone, and only two people pouring beers so they were unable to notice and do anything about it. We don't mind kids in breweries but be advised if that isn't your thing. To the beer: according to their website, they specialize in hoppy beers. There were 13 beers on tap (with some being slight variations of each other). One lager, four stouts, and the rest IPAs. They don't do flights but will pour you two sample sizes at a time, and you'll need those sample sizes for most beers because the ABV will knock you off your feet. I love IPAs and I can easily say they knocked these out of the park. The standout to me was the Birdie Putt, which they didn't have available in cans to go, so we got a four pack of the Ground Rule Triple instead. Founder Jeff Baker spent years honing his brewing skills in his garage before opening the brewery in 2023, and his dedication and passion really show in all of the beers. We live over an hour away, but we will definitely make the pilgrimage back sometime soon.
