    White Sea bass oreganato

Visited for the first time a few weeks ago for an anniversary party. We have the private room on the bottom level which is beautiful. The staff was amazing here and took great care of my family. The food was just ok. Could've used more flavor and seasoning. We weren't blown away by the dishes. I would possibly come back to try their normal menu to see if I have a better dining experience.

Upon entering we were greeted immediately. We also were seated right away. I forgot our servers name but he was very friendly, and attentive. For drinks i got the watermelon martini, and jalepeno margarita. WOW, i must say that the jalepeno margarita from here is the best I've ever had. For starters we had the fried zucchini, fried calamari, and clams for the table in a white sauce. They alll were so delicious!! Especially the clams! For entrees, we got the skirt steak with a side of broccoli rabe, fettuccini alfredo with chicken, pan roasted pork chop, sea bass franchise, and a rigatoni special (i can't remember the name but it had mushrooms and prosciutto) EVERYTHING WAS DELICIOUS!! But the top three things that were omg wow was the fettuccini alfredo - it was so heavy rich and buttery - we were all like wow. The sea bass was so soft and flavorful we all loved it, And the rigatoni special.. another pasta that was filled with lots of prosciutto and the flavor was amazing!! It was so beautiful and clean inside, enough lighting, the ambience was relaxing.. there was also an outdoor seating in front but it was too hot for us to be outside. Will definitely want to come back

I came to this restaurant for the first time and I enjoyed the decor as well as how spacious the restaurant was. The service was a little slow while waiting to order however, the employees were nice. They have a beautiful meu cover and the exterior looked stunning. They gave me complimentary bread and oil and I ordered penne pasta. The pasta could've been more flavorful however, I still enjoyed it and how it came with broccoli and shrimp.

The Seventh Street Cafe is an amazing restaurant located in beautiful downtown Garden City. It is nothing less than a treat to dine here. I am very lucky that for many years (pre Yelp) I worked next door. We came here often for lunch when we wanted to do something special. Seventh Street is the place to do that. There is plenty of parking in the lot behind the restaurant or on the other side of the street. There is a cool-slick ambiance that makes it very enjoyable to be there. The service is impeccable. They work as a team and there is always someone available to help you. It is a great friendly work staff. I was there for a downstairs event and was eating upstairs so my order was given prior to sitting at a table. As soon as we came up our food was ready. with started with a delicious cool crisp salad. Tasty and fresh. My main meal was Shrimp Francaise. It was perfect-wonderful. The francaise here has always been the best. Even my return visit 10 years later was exactly how I remembered it. I never moved past the chicken, sole or shrimp francaise so I'm limited with my menu choices but seeing the expression on all the diners faces here tell you that everything is just that good!!! Kudos to the team here at Seventh Street Cafe

Our baby shower was held here yesterday afternoon. When you walk inside, there's an upstairs and downstairs dining. Our party was downstairs, and I liked knowing it was more private and I could get a chance to catch up with everyone. I didn't plan any of it, I saw there was already a prefixed menu. We had a salad, entrée, and coffee or tea towards the end with our cake. The food was good, the service was great, and they constantly checked on between the bar in the back, refilling waters or other beverages, and our servers were friendly. The only drawback was the bathroom downstairs. It was a small space but very messy. I would suggest someone check on it when possible so other customers don't complain. I know a few women ahead of me did complain. The restaurant is quaint, I wouldn't want it to be ruined because of bathroom comments. It was a lovely afternoon. We parked in the back and the parking lot is big and shared with other stores. A bunch of our guests complimented how great Seventh Street Café was. Thank you for making our day a memorable one with loved ones!

Came in on a whim looking for a place to eat breakfast as we're visiting colleges and this place was close to our hotel. Boy am I glad I found the seventh street cafe!!! Owners Mr. Scotto and Brooke were super inviting and friendly! They looked pretty busy and didn't think we would get a seat but they were able to accommodate us and sat us at the bar top. My son and I both had the egg sandwich and it was superb! The bread was fresh, crunchy and the cheese was oozing outside the sandwich as it should. The egg was perfectly cooked and the potatoes were both crispy and savory. Win win all around I will definitely be back here for dinner! If you're thinking about coming here, don't just do it. You won't regret your breakfast lunch or dinner choice. A+ all around for sure. The service was efficient (as we were in a time crunch) the atmosphere is very inviting and the food was spectacular what else could you ask for! An appetite that's for sure :)

We went for brunch and it wasn't too busy. The ambiance is pretty cute and all of the staff were friendly. I got the breakfast sandwich and I think it was the best thing anyone ordered. It's a large portion size and the French bread was so good. I tried some of my sisters crepes and unfortunately they had come out cold and were on the thicker side. The French toast and the steak and eggs were okay as well. I liked the area this restaurant was in and would go back if we were ever in town again.

Second visit at this restaurant and the place seemed the same as on my first visit. As always, loved the nice decor and classy ambiance. I came today for a luncheon meet-up with my girlfriends. Our server was nice and sweet. A bowl of bread with Italian dipping oil was served before taking our order. I had Farfalle al Salmone (Bow Tie Pasta with Fresh Norwegian Salmon in a Pink Sauce) for my entree. It was delicious, creamy and tasted right the way I wanted. Huge serving portion for my small tummy. I had to request to boxed it. My friends were happy with their chicken salad and happily finished it. It took us a while to get our bill which sadly made it one star less for my review. Our server got busy with other tables. Oh well, the hold up made us late for our next commitment. The location is on a popular Garden City street. Huge parking lot in the back.

We came here for dinner after an appointment a few doors down. There is a nice ambiance and it wasn't too loud. They start you off with bread and a delicious oil to dip. We ordered fried zucchini & 2 salads for apps- tricolor and caesar. Very fresh tasting. The entrees we chose were chicken and penne vodka. the food was very good and potions sufficient. But it was pretty expensive. Given the location, that's not a surprise. All in all it was a good choice

Discovered this restaurant when looking for outdoor dining options and have been here probably 6 times since. The food is always great, whether appetizers (baked clams, hot antipasta, etc), salads, and seafood entrees. Other people in my groups have enjoyed the veal and steak and pasta dishes. I usually go for seafood - today I had sea bass oreganata and it was great. Unfortunately we were hungry ans didn't take food photos before eating! I did ask what the whole fish options were tonight but there aren't any

How is this restaurant handling private parties? I'm planning on attending a baby shower this month. Is there a limit on headcount?

There was a minimum headcount to book a private room, but they are very good about spacing everyone out. We had 4/5 people per table and I think that the tables normally seat 8-10 people. Also, there was enough space between each table so that you… Read more

The menu wasn't overwhelming, and there were definitely many amazing options to choose from. We ended up getting the grilled octopus and burrata as starters for our table. The burrata I felt was the most underwhelming dish out of all the ones we had ordered as the bread underneath was toasted to the point that we couldn't really cut it or chew it because it was so crispy/stale and I think I would pass on this dish. The grilled octopus though? Phenomenal. I would highly recommend getting it as an appetizer for the table as the flavours of each component was just amazing and the octopus itself was perfectly seasoned and not overcooked. For entrees, we decided to share 2 pastas and a pizza and they were all amazing as well. I believe the pizza we had ordered was a spicy vodka pizza, and the crust was nice and thin and crispy, but still held up which is what I love! One of the pastas we had ordered was a ragu bolognese which was wonderful, but I think the star of the entrees was the Friday pasta special! It was tortellini in a mushroom cream sauce with lobster and other seafood and I loved how the tortellini's flavour didn't overpower the dish at all. For dessert, we ordered the cannoli cheesecake and the baked apple tart , and the apple tart definitely blew us all away! It was nice and hot on the skillet, and the flavour of the apple filling with the flaky pie/tart pastry was so delicious, especially with a bit of the melting ice cream on top! Overall, I had an amazing experience here and would definitely recommend coming here for a date night or even a group dinner!

For starters, two kind of salads came out. The first one was a Caesar and the second one I had spring leaves feta cheese avocado and addressing already on it. I prefer the second one. They both were good however. The table was also presented with a serving of Calamari Fritté. I did not taste it. I don't know what they put on that rolls, but they came out warm with like a sweet glaze on the top. I'm assuming some kind of maple butter. I had three of those. Don't tell anyone Also as an appetizer was Tomato Bruschetto with pistachio pesto. I also have way too much of that. It was delicious and fresh. One main ain course was Shrimp Fettuccine Alfredo. I don't eat shrimp so I can't tell you how that was. The other was Rigatoni alla Vodka which was very rich and good. Sauce tasted homemade and not out of the bottle like some places. I also grabbed another piece of bread with that. But again we won't talk about that. We have two proteins. One was Chicken Francese. It was very tender. A light crisp on the outside in a nice flavorful sauce. The other protein was Grilled Salmon in a butter herb sauce. I only had a few bites of salmon. I rarely eat salmon out because I don't know how it's sourced. The flavor was fine however. For dessert, they had fruit and a couple of cakes. One cake served was Gigi's Butter Cake. I think they put some crack in it because it is addictive. Very rich, buttery and served warm! I ate one there and took one home. Shhhhhhhh The other cake was New York style cheesecake. I can't tell you how that tasted because I also took that slice home. I have more cake than I can eat at the moment. If you want some let me know

I thought I was losing my mind until I checked my text messages and saw they sent a confirmation text asking me to press 1 to confirm or 2 to cancel. I pressed 1 and somehow the system canceled my reservation. I honestly think it's crazy for a restaurant to automatically cancel a reservation because someone doesn't respond to a text right away. I was sleeping and didn't even see it until about an hour and a half later. Huge turn off. I called and thankfully they added me back, but it definitely started the experience off wrong. Once we arrived, we checked in and sat at the bar while waiting for our table. The bartender took about 25 minutes just to acknowledge me and take my drink order, which was disappointing. When we finally got seated, I realized they were only offering a prix-fixe family-style menu for Mother's Day. I understand limited menus on holidays, but I think each guest should still have the option to choose their own entrée because not everyone likes the same foods. I asked if we could add an extra appetizer, and our waitress who was very nice checked with the manager and they accommodated us. The issue was they didn't bring the extra appetizer out until after the entrées came. At that point it made no sense, and when I asked if they could remove it from the bill, they wouldn't accommodate that. Now for the food: Chicken Parmesan: slightly burnt and lacked flavor Beef medallions: needed salt and seasoning Lasagna: way too much ricotta cheese Shrimp scampi: honestly tasted like a 3-year-old made it -- just noodles and barely seasoned shrimp with almost no butter sauce Not everything was bad though: The bread was amazing Calamari was decent Meatballs were really good Cheesecake was amazing Sangria was very good and definitely gave me a little buzz The table service outside of the bar was actually great, and the portion sizes were generous. Ambiance was ok, bar just looked messy. They probably should have more than one bartender at a busy restaurant like this. Especially on Mother's Day. Overall, I probably wouldn't return unless I specifically wanted the meatballs and sangria.

It also came with shrimp, scallops, mussels, and large crunchy croutons. Vincent's Classic Combination: We chose the fried calamari and fried shrimp. The breading was light, crispy, and not oily. The sauce leaned on the sweeter side, even though we requested it spicy. My only complaint is that I wish it came with more linguine. Napoleon: Light, flaky, and not overly sweet. The parking situation was not too bad on early evening during the weekday, but I could totally see it get out of hand on the weekends, so plan accordingly. We were sat right away and the lovely server dropped a basket of bread while we peered through the menu. The free bread is quite good. We were all starving, so the cheesy chewy bread was great to munch on. I am also much more forgiving about a bit of wait for food if there is free bread being offered. It was also nice because we were seated right by the kitchen window, so it was like getting a dinner and a show. We got the Saporite, which reminded me of a Costco chicken bake with its creamy innards punctuated by grilled chicken. This is my brothers favorite, and I could see why. We also had the spaghetti seafood, which was so richly flavored with the seafood. I'm not sure I ever had Italian pasta so full of that umami seafood flavor. Truly wow. The ravioli verde was something we got to add something not-tomato based & it was an excellent choice. The sauce was verdant and creamy. The ravioli filling didn't feel like straight ricotta but I liked whatever they had done to it! The chicken parm was also a solid choice, good breading on hefty cutlets of chicken and a nice helping of charred cheese on top. We liked every single dish, and the portions were more than enough to feed all of us and leave leftover for the next day. I was especially touched by the professionalism of the young servers during what was becoming an increasingly crowded dinner service. We got extra bread, waters filled, and to go boxes promptly. The hype was surprisingly real. I guess I should not be surprised that a place that's been around since my childhood has withstood the test of time because it was good. Will revisit soon for lunch service.

It immediately gave me that cozy, old school neighborhood Italian restaurant feel, almost like the set of Cheers. The atmosphere was warm, inviting, and packed with people. I ordered the Short Rib Pappardelle and the Grilled Lamb Chops, and both were a 10/10. The pasta was rich and flavorful, and the lamb chops were cooked perfectly. Even my brother, who's a very picky eater, thoroughly enjoyed his meal. The food smelled so incredible on the drive home that I was honestly tempted to pull over and eat it in the car. For takeout, you exit the main entrance and walk around the corner to the back of the building, where they have a separate area serving pizza and other quick bites. When I arrived around 5:30 p.m., the restaurant was bustling, and the takeout counter was lined with orders waiting to be picked up. They also offer outdoor dining. While I was waiting, I noticed the portions being served to diners at the bar, and they definitely don't skimp. The servings are generous, which makes the value even better. It's easy to see why this place is such a neighborhood favorite. Great food, generous portions, and a welcoming atmosphere. I'll definitely be making the drive from Brooklyn again.

You'd think with a smaller menu, the food would come out quicker, but we had the exact opposite experience. We got our apps 20 minutes after ordering, and then we got our mains 1 hour after that. Then we got our deserts 30 minutes after that. For our 1:15pm reservation, we didn't end up leaving until 4pm. They were pretty busy, but there were a few empty tables by the time we sat down. I was also expecting service to be quicker since the menu was leaner. Also, one of the staffs kept coughing in his hands before handing the food to the guests - so that was pretty off putting. Only reason why I'm giving the restaurant any stars is because of the food. The plates came out hot and everything was delicious and they were very generous with the amount of food. Maybe I just have to stick with ordering takeout from them.
