We wanted to go with a local and smaller boat for our trip to the Kenai National Park for a more intimate experience. We loved our time with Kaylee and the small, sturdy and mighty lynx we rode on. We traveled with 2 other couples and it was nice being able to spend time speeding along the vistas both inside and outside of the cabin. Pilot rocked and really knew her puffins and wildlife. Taking the 6 hour tour gave us the opportunity to see things you would never see on those bigger catamarans. Well worth it! read more

We really enjoyed our time with Calley on the 6-hour tour. She has a very optimistic personality and was personable and knowledgeable on marine life. She was very accommodating when it came to slowing down to get a closer look at wildlife and spent just the right amount of dwell time for photos (she had a good feel for when it was time to move on). We really appreciated her budgeting time to spend a few minutes at Spire Cove on the way back to the harbor. We saw the larger cruises going out and were really glad we weren't on them! Seward Ocean Excursions' boats were smaller and made for a better experience for us. We were free to hang out on the back deck which added to the great experience we had. read more

I can't recommend this place enough!! We went out 12/3/20 and Bixler was really great. We saw SO much wildlife including bald eagles and a Bald eagle nest, jellyfish, sea urchins (on the beach), harbor seals, otters, mountain goats, sea lions and Dall's porpoises swam all around our boat! He let me ride in the front of the boat to be right next to them. He was very knowledgeable and answered all questions easily. We LOVED our experience! read more

For a very personalized tour this is the company to go with, no doubt about it, and also for your water taxi needs. Captain Bixler is fun, nice and accommodating AND has a brand new boat. Not sure if calling a boat is cute, but this one is and it's a badass as well! We used SOE for a water taxi to get out and back from North Beach. Bixler was wonderful, timely and was nice enough to let us change our time of leaving North Beach TWICE! He had to wait for about a half hour (hour?) for us, we didn't have cell coverage and our hike had become more difficult which gave us no choice. It was a HUGE relief to see him and his boat after our arduous 7.5 hour hike. (Alpine/Lowell Loop) Bixler was quite knowledgeable about the area and I could see if we were on a tour with him how much more up close and personal you can get to the sea animals versus a large boat. I'm booking a tour with him next year. read more

This company is absolutely amazing. Our captain, Joanna, was very knowledgeable and incredibly accommodating, doing her best to ensure we saw as much wildlife as we could. While we didn't see all Resurrection Bay has to offer (wildlife is unpredictable), the captain did a great job finding whatever she could and gave us ample time to view whatever we wanted. If you have at least 3.5 hour and in Seward or Anchorage, and love wildlife and scenery, this is a trip that's totally worth making. read more

This is a must if you are in Alaska and it's well worth it to travel for the boat tour. Captain Bixler was very knowledgeable, and we could customize our experience which you cannot get on a bigger boat. We were able to see multiple glacier spots, learn about history and stop a few times in a quiet cove to actually enjoy Alaska. Our captain was super friendly, shared lots of great tidbits of historical knowledge, was constantly checking to see that we were comfortable (there were several swells) and was an all around pleasure to spend time with. Excellent 1/2 day outing with a knowledgeable captain/guide. Small group of six was perfect. The captain went out of his way to find the wildlife we were interested in. We saw humpback whales,sea lions, seals, otters, a variety of birds including tufted and horned puffins. Our tour was almost over when our captain heard there was a pod of orcas in the next bay. We headed over and we're thrilled to find 2 pods of orcas! Although our time was up we got to watch these whales feed for 30 minutes! Highly recommend this tour! read more

This is the BEST way to see Resurrection Bay and the Kenai Fjords! I have gone on two six hour tours with Seward Ocean Excursions and both were amazing. Our captain, Callie, was extremely knowledgeable about the SeaLife and handled some rougher waters with grace. Was immediately greeted by a friendly and welcoming Captain Jennifer, and she showed us onto what appeared to be a new boat, boat was the perfect size for the group of 6 that was in the tour. So nature being nature,, my expectation going in was to have a nice ride through the bay,, well we got that,, plus puffins, eagles,, otters, gulls, sea lions, seals, glaciers, and 1 magnificent humpback whale. Awesome today scuba diving with Bixler and Captain Callie. He took us to Emerald Cove and Mary's rock for a couple of really awesome dives. Callie. Service was outstanding and Bixler personally led the dives for use. The underwater world is gorgeous with kelp, sunflower stars, nudis and my personal favorite, metridian anemones. The boat was really nice, clean, well organized. I have always wanted to see whales, bears, and other wildlife and I got to see so much on our trip. Way better than any of the bigger boats with tons of people on them you get to be right there close to all these amazing animals we had animals swim right along our boat almost in arms reach. We went out for the afternoon (Four of us + Bixler) and he showed us some of the most beautiful waterfalls and landscapes, explained the rock formations, and then brought us to see many different types of marine birds, sea lions, Dahl Sheep, and went on a hunt for whales! My fiancee and I were in Anchorage this past October visiting family. We had a couple days to ourselves and decided to travel to Seward. Before our trip, we were looking to do a boat trip to take while in Seward. Unbeknownst to us, everything pretty much shuts down after Labor day in Seward. However, we were luck enough to find Seward Ocean Excursions, and what a great find it was. We took the 4 hour sight seeing excursion, and could not have been more happy. We loved the small tour (6 people) experience. It allowed for a trip that was tailored to the group, and allowed us to get to see things the big boats can't get to.
