This is a fun place to hang out on a Sunday afternoon. If you have ever been to Gruene Hall in Gruene, Texas, you can expect the same experience, but add some awesome food to it. They had an open mic when we were there on a Sunday, and the talent was great! They were pretty busy, but they had outdoor and indoor seating. The service was friendly, but not the fastest in the world. We had a brisket sandwich with onion rings ($14.95) - the quantity and taste were great, but the food was just lukewarm. Their wood-fired pizza is very tasty. It's a thin crust, so I love that! Pints of most craft beer is $5.00, so that's a bargain. There's a 2.9% admin fee on your check when you get it. When I asked what it was, they said it was for using a credit card. They didn't know I was using a credit card when they brought the check to me, so pay attention to it if you are paying with cash. This is a cute little place on the river, right off of the Square in Glen Rose Texas. I have met the owner, she is amazing, we had a conversation with her one night while we were listening to live music. They have an outdoor stage that is just perfect and they always seem to bring really high-quality bands to the area. That is when we will come in, it's not a restaurant, but it does serve food. When we went in the past it was a barbecue truck for food, now I believe it's a brick pizza oven that I've heard is great. She employs a lot of locals, and they are kind service oriented individuals. The view of the river is beautiful, there are some chairs and tables out on a deck and also down outside near the music stage. Such a cute local spot with live music, a game room and right on the river. We were a large party with six adults and three kids. We sat outside and our kids loved being able to roam around without disrupting anyone. The service however, was incredibly slow and not great. It took forever between drink refills. Half of the adults probably would've ordered more alcohol, but it just took too long between drinks. We ordered jalapeño poppers as an appetizer and they came out still half frozen. Those that ordered the burger said they were decent, but the pizza and barbecue dishes were nothing special. Overall, definitely a great spot for ambience and families. I went on a Saturday around 4pm. They had ran out of everything except bbq sandwiches which were average.

The service was great. We got queso and nachos. Queso was flat out awful. We got salsa and nachos the salsa had a strange burnt smoke flavor to it. I got a sample of their meats. First was cheese and jalapeño sausage. I hate to say this but it was literally the worst sausage I've ever eaten in my life. Pulled pork and the brisket were average but the barbecue sauce tasted weird. The sides I got were the Mexican corn which was really salty and the beans were bland. On the good side, which is why I gave a 3 instead of a 2 my wife got a burger on a pretzel bun which apparently they are known for, which she said was very good. This was our second time here coming in from out of town for a weekend trip to see fossil rim, dinosaur world, and big park. You can't beat the live music, room to run around for the kids, and river view. Their staff is great and whoever is working the smoker is fantastic . The cigarette smoke that blows anywhere and everywhere on the patio makes it less kid-friendly but it's never been so overwhelming that it ruined our good times and we're pretty sensitive. This place is perfect if you are camping or doing outdoor activities near Glen Rose. Come as you are; we were hot and sweaty from being on the river all day, and felt welcome here. We also had an 18 month old and didn't feel out of place or like it was too much of a "bar". Although there is a bar, pool tables, a music stage, and even axe throwing! Stopped by there today around 11:30 on our way out of town. Service was ok, but there were several times we had to wait for drinks and to go boxes. We didn't realize that the food was actually from a food truck focusing on BBQ. Half of the menu wasn't available when we were there. If you are going there for drinks and bar food, then it's probably good, but we were there for lunch without drinks. Comparable to a juicy brisket but great goat/lamb type flavor. The burrito came with a flavorful slightly spicy green sauce over the top, with fresh cilantro and cheese. Both entrees were excellent.
