Anyways, the same receptionist referred her to this doctor and thought he would be a good fit as he used to work with my mom's previous doctor and they were supposedly similar. My mom called and in Lila's words she had to "beg" them to accept her since they were not taking new patients. Lila said this as if it was a put down on my mom, with no consideration for the fact that she was left holding the bag by her previous doctor and had been on sleep medication for years that she would abruptly run out of! They finally did my mom the "big favor" of saying they would accept her as a patient and set an appointment for August 1. Mind you, that would still leave my mom waiting for 3 weeks to get her new sleep prescription and I advised her to try and call the office and explain the situation to see if Dr Pearlstein could fit her in sooner. There was a bit of phone tag being played and once when the doctor called, because my mom's hands were shaky, she accidentally disconnected the call. When my mom called today(7/15) Lila very rudely and callously told her than they were going to cancel her appointment and not take her as a patient. I tried calling to talk to Lila and very quickly could see what my mom had been up against. She bragged about how my mom "begged" to be their patient, as of it was something to be proud of, and that they gave in. They could have said no as well! Then she said my mom called them 20 times and that was just too much and her issue was "not their problem". I am looking at my mom's phone. She did not call them 20 times, but if there were some calls, it could be for a reason, ie my mom losing her doctor with no notice! Zero compassion and a very heartless and bullying receptionist. She clearly had all the power. She could have been a little more understanding and had she conveyed it properly to the doctor, he may have been happy to help my mom or at least kindly tell her that he couldn't do anything until he saw her. Now we will never know because Lila decided she needed to win some battle of wills with my poor mom who was just afraid to run out of her sleep medication. This is not a good place!!

He cares about you and your health. Heck yeah, you pay for it, but it is worth it. Ann is his long-time nurse and she is so awesome. If you are looking for a doctor for hormone therapy, hormone replacement therapy or want your levels checked e.g. Testosterone. Dr. Waring is the one to see. No doubt about it. I came to him on referral from my trainer who was helping me recover from a medical condition that almost killed me - I was on life support and in ICU for a month! Due to all the trauma my body went through I went through menopause in 3 months - start to finish - totally done! - at age 37. Not wanting to shrivel up, have my bones break and end my sex life, I saw Dr. Waring for my HRT. So I do take my health seriously. For me the labs, EKG, X-Ray and physical appointment cost about $1650 - but the doctor will spend an hour or two with you easy - sometimes more. If you do your labs through you're insurance (i.e. elsewhere) it will save you some dough. My labs this time were $945. Ann will get you orders for your labs and you can have them done at your insurance lab. Then you pay what you pay based on your insurance. They also give you a Super Bill you can submit to your insurance so you can maybe get some reimbursement or at least get credit to your deductible. I've referred a number of people to Dr. Waring and they are all very glad they saw him and continue to do so.

Since my dad is in his late 80s, us kids have started to accompany him to his doctors' appointments to make sure everything is okay. The first time I did this, Dr. Sajedi was SO patient, he took so much time with me, patiently explaining to (a shocked) me that my dad is diabetic (my dad never told us this before, sheesh) and that he needs to get more exercise because being so sedentary is unhealthy for him. He even knew my dad well enough to creatively motivate him to exercise, in a way that he knew would be appealing and doable. The second time, my sister and mom came along, and he was even MORE patient with us. He answered all of our questions, never rushing us, never getting exasperated. And this was even within the first few weeks of his having a new baby, I believe. Amazing. A month or so ago when my dad had to be rushed to the ER with a leg infection, my sister called him late at night and talked to him, and he was super patient with her and agreed that the ER was the right move. Recently, Dr. Sajedi has expanded to having Saturday hours, which is really helpful for my parents. My mom is even planning on switching from her longtime practitioner to Dr. Sajedi, because he's so consistently great! Another reviewer here says that Dr. Sajedi gives coupons and samples of medication - and that is absolutely true. He gave my dad samples when he was trying out a couple of new medications to see which ones agreed with him the best, so he wouldn't have to pay to fill them and then let them go to waste if they didn't work. Dr. Sajedi also has the most wonderful nurse, Nasi, who is also very patient with my dad - and is super flexible so that he can stop in without an appointment if he just needs his blood drawn for whatever reason. Every time I call the office, the reception girls and guys are super helpful and patient also. Which just goes to show you how setting a positive tone in an office can be contagious. Dr. Sajedi is AWESOME!

Please read my horror story with Dr. Sajedi and decide for yourself whether he is worth your time…read moreand money. The good: Dr. Sajedi is a personable doctor who spends a lot of time with you. I should also say that he did give me a discount once or twice as I didn't have health insurance, so at a personal level, I had no problem with Dr. Sajedi; I can even say that I liked him. The bad: However, based on my three years of being his patient, I can say that his medical knowledge and professionalism are truly unimpressive. Dr. Sajedi does spend a lot of time with you, but he spends most of that time talking about life, i.e. not about the relevant issues of your health. Worse still, he is extremely quick in writing you prescriptions for conditions that you do not even have. I saw him in my last year of college, and I told him that I have some difficulties with concentration. Without asking any other question, he put me on a high dose of Adderall. I can't say that the Adderall did much for me but I was dependent on it after a few weeks. Stopping it for even a couple days made me severely depressed. So I kept seeing him every six months or so and he would write me a prescription for another 200 maximum-dose pills, until, at the very end of my graduate school, he abruptly stopped to write a new prescription for me. I was a poor student without insurance and couldn't really afford to go and see a psychiatrist at the time so in the middle of my final exams, I was left to feel terribly depressed all day, and I'll never forget his explanation for my suffering. He said that police were investigating him because apparently he has been writing many of these 200-pill of maximum dose Adderalls, and some of his patients were caught by the police selling the pills on the black market. He also said that his lawyer has told him to stop prescribing Adderall. I told him that that is completely unfair to me, and that he should at least write a prescription so that I can handle my next few weeks of exams. He did not do any such thing and only told me to go to a psychiatrist. I finally managed to save and see a psychiatrist who was shocked at the haphazard way that Dr. Sajedi had "diagnosed" me with ADHD. The psychiatrist told me that I do not have ADHD; he prescribed me a lower dose of Adderall and gradually took me off of it, while helping me to battle the resulting depression, and I was fine after 6 months and have never again taken any Adderall. But for the life of me I will not forget the way that Dr. Sajedi misdiagnosed me, made me dependent on a strong and expensive drug with unpleasant side effects, and most importantly the horrible few weeks of my final exams that I had to push through a debilitating depression while he abruptly cut me off my prescription. I should have really sued him, but at least I can share my experience with the yelp users so they don't suffer the unnecessary pain that I did at the hands of this man. In general, be very careful with medicine that he describes to you. Every single time that I went to visit him I saw a pharmaceutical rep in his office, and every single time that I visited him he gave me some of the medicine or products that the pharmaceutical reps had given him. UPDATE: I discovered that as result of his incompetence, DR. SAJEDI WAS SANCTIONED ON 5/31/2013 FOR "SUBSTANDARDIZED CARE, INCOMPETENCE, OR NEGLIGENCE". I saw this on healthgrades.com.
