Not only did these guys NOT fix our coolers as promised, they decided to vandalize both of our swamp coolers as retribution for the late payment of the invoice. We were waiting for them to respond to our email to fix the leaking and hot air blowing. This hurt my employees well being during their work hours, we lost inventory and it caused a disruption to my production. Unprofessional and simply unkind. I've never had to deal with anyone like this before and we are so disappointed in this type of unethical behavior. read more

$450 for a service call and diagnosis? Bit steep for me especially when the guy was saying I had an evaporator leak and I saw no bubble test or sniffer deployed. $3500 for a replacement coil plus a bunch of recommended "prophylactic" replacements (eg fan/capacitors) on my 7 year old system totaling over 5k including labor doesn't make sense. Delta T of the system is 20 degrees and the flow is good. Would like to see the definition of condenser fan bearings that are ABOUT to fail (not actually failed mind you)? I just wanted a good seasonal once over but this guy was going for a nice mortgage payment or two. read more

I called Nick at 7 a.m. And he was at our home by 10 assessing the work that needed to be done to get our air back on as it was going to hit 106 in Peoria today. He got the parts needed and we were back up and running by 3. He is very honest, sincere and knows what he is talking about. All their work is guaranteed and they stand behind everything they do. I thought their pricing was very reasonable, especially compared to competitive company's. When I need a new unit it will be a Trane from SG Mechanical. Give them your needs and they will handle most any job. I met one of the owners and needed some other work done with some vented lovers which I have been waiting 6 months for another contractor to do and am going with SG, they are coming tomorrow to put them in, seal them and paint the caulked area. From start to finish my experience with them was so bad. Red flag should have been that after setting up my first appointment with one of the owners she didnt put the appt in the system. When I called to provide more accurate contact info, I had to start over. On that appt, the tech who serviced my 15 YO unit said it just needed a new part, which I had installed on the spot. Three days later on a Sunday night, the house is 93' at 830PM so I pay for after hours emergency service and this tech tells me the unit should just be replaced! So now I'm $300 in and still not cooling! I stuck with them - even w/all these red flags - and after days of working with yet another guy from SGM who was assessing the situation and providing me with quotes - a diff company went up and some ductwork was found to be suspiciously unattached blowing cold air in the attic. This guy Megyvered it back on so at least the house was bearable and weirdly SGM sales guy just stopped calling me. I DID get a call when my monthly didn't go through and to collect the emergency call. read more

Andy is 5 stars! He's a super smart guy. He researched an ozone free uv light. He said the UV light from the previous, big co. installer should NOT be shining down from the central intake in the system- So he may have saved my eyes! He installed a HEPA, MERV/ERV system...It's been great! I have complex, chronic illness that includes mold...So it is great to have such confidence....He put my mind at ease. read more

This company is amazing!! They worked with my warranty company and are very easy to work with. Andy (manager)is very on top of things and up front with everything. The tech, Kyle, was also great with communication and really figured out a problem and the solution that 4 other AC companies misdiagnosed and wanted to charge me over $1000 -$7000 for what cost several hundred through SG Mechanical cause the other companies didn't take the time to diagnose the problem and just wanted to replace major parts of the system to the whole system. SG even fixed the thermostat that was installed sloppy by another company. They are my company now and only ones I will call with maintenance and any issues!! read more

I have been using SG Mechanical for years. They are extremely honest and reliable. Recently had an issue where I thought I would have to replace an old AC unit. Andy noticed that some duct work in the attic was open and blowing cold air in the attic. He patched up the duct work and the AC unit is running great. I am sad to write a poor review but I have to at this point. Andy didn't show up for a 3pm appointment one day and I had to follow up with him to see when he was going to arrive. Finally at 6:30pm I called him and said it's getting dark let's reschedule for tomorrow. Then Andy confirmed that he would be at the house at 5pm sharp the following day. I took off work early to make sure I was at the house in time for the 5pm appointment I called Andy and let him know I was home early and he could come over. 5pm no Andy, 6pm and still no Andy . I am very disappointed and at this point two days in a row of not showing up is enough to find someone else. read more

Used this company through our Home Insurance. They called within 20 minutes from when I hung up with the home warranty company and set up an appointment with me. The woman to whom I spoke with on the phone was very professional and friendly. The technician, Nick Hefner, called first thing in the morning to advise what time he would be here. He arrived on time and was very professional, knowledgeable and very nice. He performed a yearly maintenance on our heating system. Being new to the area and how things differ here, he took his time to show us what we need to know to change the air filters and a few other small things. He cleaned up after himself and then came back in to go over the paperwork with us. A very nice young man. I would highly recommend this company and this technician. read more

I thought I might need my entire a/c system replaced because one side of my house was always 5 degrees warmer. They came in, took air flow readings, and installed a couple dampers that fixed everything. I recommend them to all my friends. read more

I initially contacted Andy at SG Mechanical 2 summers ago when my AC went out. He responded quickly and had me up and running in a short period if time at a good cost. Last summer it went out again, so I called Andy. Despite his very busy day he promised to come by and take a look at it, even if was late at night. He did and got it up and running again. My system was the original installed in 1996. I knew I was on borrowed time. So this Spring I called Andy for an estimate for a replacement. The work was done yesterday and Andy and his team did an amazing. His price was extremely competitive, he was professional, and reliable. He showed up when he said he would, which as basic as that seems it isn't always the case. I highly recommend Andy and SG Mechanical!! read more

These guys are so awesome! I never write reviews (I'm lazy) but I've been meaning to write one for these guys for a while now, they're just too deserving not to do it. We have several rentals and we've been knocked around and bent over by AC companies for as long as we've had the properties. Up-selling or down right conning us, it's frustrated my wife almost to the point of selling our investments. But that completely changed when we started using SG Mechanical. These guys are so honest and so great when it comes to repairs and replacements. We've used them exclusively since I found them in 2014 and every time they never fail to perform perfectly. We've had several AC's replaced by them with perfect results. And their service is strait forward and honest, they do it right the first time. They've even worked on one of my cheap little mini split systems I have for a separate workshop. They fixed it quick and easy and saved me the $1400 to totally replace it (which is the advice I got online). It's such a huge relief for us to have an AC company we can totally trust and count on. Kyle is one of the service techs I deal with a lot and he's awesome! He explains everything he's doing and puts up with all my annoying questions down to explaining as much of the technical stuff as I want to hear. Andy is the owner (or one of the owners, not sure) and he's so great to deal with too. Just strait forward honest guys. The company we used previously always came up with something that needed to be changed out and at one time told us we may start thinking about getting a whole new unit. As most other reviews note, SG Mechanical is a unicorn. It is a concept and idea we have mostly given up on as a society in business. SG Mechanical is honest, FAIR, transparent, professional, respectful, etc. I am a very detailed and picky consumer, I research and scrutinize most details (engineer by trade). Andy is the owner, hard to find an easier to work with owner. His customer skills are beyond fantastic. His response time is unheard of. His attention to each job as an owner is highly impressive. I deal with various types of contractors on a regular basis, SG Mechanical is #1 on my list - I am not saying that lightly. I received quotes from multiple various other licensed HVAC companies in the valley, most were absolutely ridiculous. Andy personally came to give me the estimate for a replacement of multiple systems in my home. He personally measured my duct work to properly right size the equipment (this is crucial). Most other companies wanted to charge me $250 - $400 to measure my living space and duct work to right size the equipment. Andy did it without hesitation the day he arrived for the estimate. He said "I want to give you the right estimate, not the quick estimate". He earned my business right there, and has only COMPLETELY exceeded my expectations ever since. His team (employees) are also great. All of them are polite, professional, and thorough. Also important to me, SG Mechanical stays up on their certifications. They are NATE certified (look it up), and have various other HVAC certifications. If you are looking for any HVAC work, do yourself a favor and at least schedule an estimate call with Andy, then speak with other HVAC companies. SG Mechanical recently replaced our A/C heating system due tot he failure of our original unit. Their professionalism was obvious from the beginning of the process. We worked with Nick our technician who diagnosed the problems with our existing system. He spent time with us explaining the issues and possible solutions. We chose to replace the unit instead of nickle and dime it. They offered various options. Once we determined the right approach their team went into action preparing for the installation and did a pre-installation review to make certain everything was ready. On the day of installation they arrived as scheduled and completed the work and explained the process along the way. After a horrible experience with another company I was put in contact with SG Mechanical through my son. Andy came out quickly and the necessary repairs were done by Kyle the following morning. SG saved me almost $500 on the repairs and thousands of dollars on the unnecessary replacement of the unit that I was convinced by the other company that I needed as soon as possible. Additionally, Kyle potentially saved my house from burning down - the tech from the other company had left the door off my attic unit and an open flame in my dusty attic would have been exposed when I turned on my heating unit this coming winter.
