Ahipoki! I remember seeing the coming soon banner a few months ago and how excited I got because I have been to the Huntington Beach location a good amount of times, yes driving from Garden Grove down there, it was worth the drive. Now does this top Hawaii poke....no...but to me I think its one of the best locally that doesn't do too much. I know some people may have their favorite place, but to me the Huntington Beach location and this one is delish. Located in the shopping plaza across from Main Place mall, there is plenty of parking, note you won't get exactly front row parking and most cases you will park across right after the bushes and will have to walk just a little. They do also have their own outdoor seating but inside there are plenty of tables to sit at as well. Inside the few times I have been here has been clean. Greeted by the workers, its just like chipotle, you choose your size of bowl, start off with the base, depending on the size of bowl you can choose anywhere from 1 to 3 proteins, choose your sauce and then unlimited toppings. I know they have a grilled portion of the menu with Hawaiian BBQ Chicken and a salmon bowl. Also on the menu were some Musubi's. I will have to try all these in due time but this review is mainly for their Poke Bowls. My first time coming to this location I kept it simple: I did half rice half kelp salad, and that kelp salad was really good! Which at the top of my mind is kelp noodles that also had thin carrots. I did three scoops of just Tuna Luau, oh man I think I went with just the garlic soy mirin and for the toppings I had seaweed, imitation crab, cucumbers, edamame and pickled radish. Just as delicious as I remember the drive to the HB location, the rice is cooked perfectly where its nicely clomped together so you can easily incorporate all the other ingredients. The other two photos was another visit, sadly this visit they ran out of the kelp salad Wife ordered a small bowl with rice, Tuna Luau, edamame, ginger, pickled radish, I do know she sauced it with the kimchi sauce. She did say after a few bites it got pretty spicy. This round I went with all rice, pretty much the same toppings, I know for sure I did 3 different sauces and that was the house sauce, sweet citrus and garlic soy mirin. I also went with three different scopes this time and went with Tuna Luau, Blazing Salmon and Tuna Lava. As always everything was delicious. In conclusion, ahipoki will def be a location I will recommend to anyone that asks. As mentioned above I am curious on the other items, maybe I will order a small bowl so I can try the other items. One key thing about AhiPoki , they pack your bowl, like my bowls got a good weight to it! Also key thing to remember, unless you enjoy all the unlimited toppings on your bowl and have had it before. First time here and overall, it was a decent experience. I've never seen kelp salad as an option at a poke place before, so I had to give it a try. It's a combination of kelp and little pieces of clear noodles, which added a nice change in texture. I also liked that they offer many marinated fish options. I went with the 3-fish bowl and probably got a little carried away with the toppings because I wanted to try almost everything. They were very generous with the portions, so by the time my bowl was finished, it was practically overflowing with food. Definitely no complaints about getting my money's worth! Unfortunately, despite all the ingredients, the overall bowl didn't taste quite as good as I had hoped. I think part of the issue may have been that it needed more sauce or dressing. Without enough of it, the bowl felt a little dry and the individual ingredients didn't come together as well as I would've liked. The restaurant itself is surprisingly spacious, with plenty of indoor seating. Parking is also plenty, which is always a plus. Another nice bonus is that MainPlace Mall is nearby, so that's a nice way to walk off the food. Overall, it was a pretty good first visit. The generous portions, variety of toppings, and marinated fish options definitely make this place worth trying. I'd probably come back and experiment with different combinations and sauces to see if I can build a bowl that I enjoy more. read more

Wow, I came here on a whim after seeing the $10 deal for 2 scoops and I'm so glad I did. There were a few things I was really impressed with: - As one of the bases, they offer a kelp salad. I got this, and loved it. It was so flavorful, filling, and healthy. - They offer Hawaiian style poke as protein options. I tried their tuna luau (tuna with avocado) and the sauce in it was just right. Not too salty or sweet and it didn't overpower the freshness of the fish or avocado. I'm not a tuna fan but I loved this one. They have other options like creamy salmon mayo, and I think I saw one with tako or octopus that looked delicious. Trying one that was delicious makes me want to try more! - Very clean and fresh. Everything tasted like it was just prepared or cut. None of the veggies or toppings looked "old" or wilted or off color. The fish tasted fresh and appropriately chilled. They're located in a plaza with sufficient and free parking. It's right next to Main Place Mall so you can shop then eat here afterwards. Overall, I'd highly recommend this place and can see myself coming here repeatedly. I was super excited to try this new location when I heard this location was opening up close to my home! Their style of service is very similar to Subway but for poke bowls. The ambience is very vibrant, has a cool factor, and chill. I would say with the outdoor seating it can comfortably seat up to four people per party comfortably any bigger size will probably need to squeeze in another table. I got myself the two scoop with the tuna lava and blazing salmon. All other toppings and fillers were unlimited. There are certain additions that cost extra and that will be labeled. My overall rating would be 4/5. The customer service with amazing and the interior is super clean and tidy. The only caveat is the portion of the protein is a bit small. It's fine with their current promotion for two scoops at $10, but once they have their regular price, I would not have a reason to justify to come here often. Besides all that, everything is fresh and made daily suggest the rice and other items that needs to be cooked. I do want to come back to try their cooked items and their spamasubi. Octavio and Victor was very helpful during the time I had visited. I did get the guava drink, and I would rate that 2/5. It definitely tasted sugary and artificial. They offer a variety ranging from the basics such as salmon and tuna to octopus and shrimp. They also offer cooked bowls as well including chicken or salmon. Most raw proteins are pre-batched in a variety of sauces. They range from sweet to spicy, with the spice being mild. Really excited about the kelp noodle/carrot salad base. It kept the bowl light... but without rice, the bowl does tend to get soupy at the bottom due to all the sauces. They offer a great variety of toppings (fresh, dry, and additional sauces) and have a few options that are extra. The staff is beyond helpful with suggestions and are consistently smiling, kind people to interact with. Nothing special about this poke place. Portion size is small, you're barely getting any protein and toppings. Taste is mediocre; even their house special spicy tuna and salmon were not spicy (despite the pepper sign) and very tasteless. A lot of gap in the container, they could have been more generous with the scoops given the price. The only thing good about this place is their kelp salad. There are a lot of better poke places out there, so I do not recommend coming here and would not be back at this place. read more

This new Poke bowl shop has become my new current favorite place to satisfy the cravings for Poke or Hawaiian grilled meat. Not only is their portion size almost twice as big as the competition, their prices are cheaper and the menu offerings has more variety with standard sizes vs mini bowls (under $10) of either grilled chicken, poke, shrimp, etc. making it very budget friendly and leave you feeling full and satisfied. I've already tried a handful of other Poke places and they only offer Poke and nothing else and so having the option of grilled meat is perfect when I'm not in the mood for raw fish. Freaking delicious. Place is super nice and spacious and CLEAN! Staff is incredibly kind, and when I asked about a poke flavor, they scooped a sample to give me. Everything in the poke bar is 10/10. I also got 2 spicy musubis. The musubi deal is amazing at 2 for $6. However, I wasn't a fan of the nori used. Rice and spam itself was delicious, just needs better seaweed IMO. They do not have the reward system up here. Felt really rushed making my bowls or as if I was bothering them asking for my toppings. They have a deal going on for 10 dollars, maybe that's why it's little baby spoons. They switch off in different stations and some of the guys were just throwing it in the bowl real fast so I had to ask if I can get a little more. honestly, it's an okay poke place. the food tasted fresh and looked fresh but the portion size is so small. the scoops of fish are so tiny it felt like I barely had any fish in my bowl.
