I took my dog Thursday for a broken nail which caused her pain and some bleeding, unfortunately my dog and my brothers dog don't like to be separated their beagles so I had to bring both. Me being embarrassed the boy beagle hate vets was howling like crazy. But all the staff was so nice and sweet and took such good care with my dogs foot.

My wife and I brought our new cat here just to be checked out. We had adopted the cat from Carson animal shelter. The cat's eyes had some drainage issues. The doctor there is very knowledgeable and friendly and nice to the animals and people. This place is just South of Glenoaks Blvd.

I just want to start off by thanking the wonderful staff at Shadow hills and Dr.Mohan. I was going crazy looking for a good place to Neuter my 6 year old Frenchie. Of course, I should have done it sooner but just knowing my baby has to go under anesthesia is scary and more being a French bulldog. Dr. Mohan explain everything to me in detail about the surgery and the trouble's a frenchie can have during surgery but he is very knowledgeable and I thank him for the wonderful job he did! My baby is 4 days out from surgery and doing great. The staff at the front desk also answer all my question and were very friendly. Thank you very much Shadow Hill Pet clinic. I 1000 percent recommend this clinic for all your pet needs! And the prices are very reasonable!

    Phinny awaiting his check up.

I've been with Shadow Hill Pet Clinic before it was sold to a group and it was just Dr Mohan. Mohan has always been nice and a fine vet. Dr. Prabhakar (Dr V) just performed surgery on my baby and did a wonderful job and was very nice. Then I saw Dr. Lauber recently in an non surgery emergency where my dog had chewed the base of her tail to bleeding. Of course I asked if it was the anal glands even though it was much higher than where anal glands are located. I was asked if she had flees and I said no, she's white and you can see them immediately. So I was offered a list of things with prices to do. 3 month flee pill, clean the area, antibiotics, an anal glad expression and a couple other things. The doc didn't tell me anything was really necessary. I assuming it must have been a bug bite that made her chew the base of her tail, chose not to do anal expression but the obvious cleaning area, antibiotics and 3 month flee pill. Then a very nice, 30 year vet tech named Jessica came out and asked me, 'are you sure you don't want the anal gland epression?' I said no they were just expressed a few days ago and nothing came out. Jessica said 'but they're full'. I said really? Not believing her. Well then can I watch you do it? I wanted to make sure she wasn't just trying to get more money out of me. Jessica said 'Sure'. And I couldn't believe how much she expressed from my tiny dog. I asked her how she knew and the vet didn't. Jessica said she had been a vet tech for 30 years, experience. Jessica then stepped into the back hallway and showed the cloth with the expressed matter to someone and said very politely, 'see' as she held up the cloth. It felt like a superior. Then Jessica showed me what to look for and offered the next time I come in to show me how to do the anal expression from the inside, I'm a groomer and know the external expression method. Now Jessica doesn't work there anymore . I hope she wasn't fired for being so knowledgeable and helpful. Hopefully she left of her own will, but I have my doubts.

Updating my review once again and continuing to leave 5 stars. Dr. V is seriously one of the most compassionate vets I've ever encountered. I've been coming here since pre COVID times and honestly it's only gotten better throughout the years. Staff continues to be kind and caring. I appreciate all they do for my pets and their prices are definitely fair compared to other locations I've been to. I've see reviews regarding how this clinic only cares about $ but that's most definitely not what I have experienced. Thank you Shadow Hills Pet Clinic for all that you do, we appreciate you so much!

We recently took our fur baby to this clinic. We were pleasantly surprised with how friendly and professional everyone was. Our dog actually enjoyed his visit, and we will definitely be bringing him back again.

THE BEST OF THE BEST! Very Knowledgeable, honest, patient, and caring Dr Mohan is the one who were looking for all the past 8 years. Since my dog was 5 months old, he got so many health related issues such as limping, ear infection, some loosing hair spot on the skin, or round wounds(maybe ring worms), fatty masses on his belly and ears... and since then we were always looking for knowledgeable, caring and honest doctor but every time all doctors treats our buddy very wrong and unprofessional and charged us $$$... After some more research on Facebook and Yelp and noticed so many people were recommending Dr Mohan and decided to visit him for the consultation... And YES! He was listening to the problems that our dog had, by checking our Sunny (blood test, x-ray, biopsy,...) he explained everything step by step, all the expenses(which is very very very fairnot like the other Veterinarian who see pets as a $ and charge people $$$$$), and all the necessary things that my buddy needed. Based on Dr Mohan diagnosed we ended up to do the surgery which thanks to him it went well. After the procedure Dr Mohan gave us a brief explanation of surgery on the phone and home treatments instruction. I cannot say enough how Dr Mohan is an amazing, knowledgeable, caring, and patient. we are lucky that met Dr Mohan. Thank you so much Dr Mohan for all you have done for our Sunny!

Ask the Community - Shadow Hills Pet Clinic

Is this place still open I have been calling trying to schedule an apt with no luck?

I'm wondering the same thing. My dog has a procedure scheduled for tomorrow and I can't reach them to ask if we need to reschedule.

Does anyone know if this place is still operating? No one has been answering their calls, I even left a voice message.

I was informed that someone in this clinic was possibly with COVID-19 They will be closed for a week

How are they with spaying small dogs? Any complaints or compliments?

    No complaints

Any one know how much they charged for teeth cleaning on a Chihuahua?

I had my Maltese get her teeth cleaned, she's 6 lbs and it was in the $200 range. It might get pricier the larger the dog but since yours is a chihuahua it might be around what I paid :)

I've been bringing my 19-year-old pup here for the last 6 years, and I honestly can't imagine trusting anyone else. Having a senior dog comes with its fair share of challenges, but every time we walk through those doors, Dr. Oh gives me peace of mind. Somehow I always leave thinking, "Okay...my old man is going to be okay." My pup has struggled with seizures for the last three years, and instead of immediately pushing expensive treatments, Dr. Oh recommended natural supplements that have made a huge difference. We went from about two seizures a week to only every several months! Now that my sweet old guy is dealing with doggy dementia, Dr. Oh has continued to be amazing--recommending affordable supplements, giving practical tips to keep him safe at home, and helping me make the best decisions for his quality of life. One thing I appreciate the most? No nickel-and-diming. I never feel pressured into unnecessary tests or treatments. If something isn't needed, he'll tell you. That kind of honesty is hard to find these days, and it means everything when you're caring for a senior pet. The clinic is always clean, and the staff is kind, patient, and genuinely attentive. They make every visit as stress-free as possible. Located on Sherman Way & Van Nuys Blvd, inside the shopping center with Pablo's, Dunkin', and Otto Sushi, with a large parking lot so finding a space is easy. Thank you, Dr. Oh and the entire Van Nuys Pet Clinic team, for helping my old guy enjoy his golden years. You have cared for him like family, and I'll always be grateful.

The girls at the front desk went above and beyond by squeezing my little guy in at the very end of the day on one of their busiest days before the Fourth of July holiday. My little pup decided to do some "parkour" off the furniture after the midweek fireworks scared him, and he suddenly became completely non-weight-bearing on his back leg.Dr. Oh was absolutely amazing. He wasted no time getting X-rays, quickly diagnosed a hairline fracture, and thoroughly explained everything to me. Thankfully, surgery wasn't necessary, and we have a treatment plan to help him heal. Every single person we encountered showed genuine care, kindness, and compassion not just for my dog, but for me as a worried pet parent. The clinic itself is adorable too! I loved all the cute pet photos decorating the office and wish I had taken more pictures because it has such a welcoming atmosphere. Thank you, Dr. Oh and the entire Van Nuys Vet Clinic team, for taking such great care of my little guy. We truly appreciate everything you did and couldn't have asked for a better experience during such a stressful day.

This review is years overdue, but needs to be said…read more Dill Veterinary Hospital was recommended to me by another canine professional as one of the best reproductive vets. I wanted to bring my young Australian Shepherd here to complete his OFA's just to know what his score was. All his other health had checked out and I had never done OFA's on a dog before so just wanted to check the box. My dog was 18 months when I brought him into this clinic, he is now 4 1/2 years old. The tech came into the room and told me how the x-rays would be performed. I asked her "at what point will you put a dog under to obtain the x-rays?" she had responded that if the dog is really having a hard time, they will put the dog under, but it can change the results of the x-ray. She took my dog back to get the x-rays done, and from all the way down the hall I could hear my dog, screaming, thrashing, and two or three techs laughing, saying "we're going to get our workout in for the day." I was absolutely horrified and on the verge of tears, hearing my dog struggling from down the hall. I could hear him breathing through his nose as if his mouth was held shut (or muzzled). I nearly walked back there to stop the procedure. Today I wish I had. When he was finally brought to me, his own saliva was covering his face, eyes were bloodshot and bulging, and he was panting heavily. The girl returned him to me and took a deep breath as if she had just restrained the most difficult dog in her life. He's an Australian Shepherd and weighed about 60 pounds. I'm writing this review now because he now has physical therapy, deals with sciatica and back pain likely as a result from this incident. I'm sorry, but I'd rather have my dog put under to be restrained on his back with his back legs held out straight. If you care about your dog and you want those who work with your dog to care about them too, don't bring them here. My dog has had handling issues ever since bringing him here and requires lots of cooperative care at the vet to make sure it's a pleasant experience. Luckily, my vet allows me to be in the room for most everything they do and allows me to hold him, reward him, or otherwise gently restrained him for anything needed. To top it off, once I checked out and brought the right amount of cash to pay for this service, I had been quoted on the phone half of what I ended up paying. When I questioned it in person, the woman standing to the side (assuming was the owner of the clinic) quickly turned around and said "we are the only two people that answer the phone here and neither of us would've quoted you wrong." to immediately get so defensive instead of understanding and question the misinformation that I was told was absolutely appalling. Bedside manner was nonexistent, and I was made to feel like an idiot and completely degraded for even questioning them. Again, don't bring your dogs here if you care about their well being. I've worked in the dog industry for coming up on 20 years and I can't tell you how important it is to advocate for your dog every step of the way. One bad experience can really fuck them up and I will never be putting my dog through that again.

More recently, I had to bring my male cat in for an urgent medical concern, and once again he received excellent care at a price that was significantly more reasonable than the emergency hospital. What sets this practice apart is that they understand that quality veterinary care should be accessible. It is not simply about saving money, t is about giving pet owners options so they can provide the best possible care for their animals without being forced into financial hardship. As a full-time nursing student caring for two senior cats, I truly appreciate having a veterinarian who works with pet owners while never compromising the quality of care. The staff is consistently kind and helpful. During my most recent visit, after being up all night in the ER with my cat, the receptionist even brought me a cup of coffee. She came to my home first thing the next morning. I was worried about my younger Golden Retriever jumping on her or interfering with her care, but she was absolutely wonderful with both of my dogs. She encouraged him to stay in the room with us once he was comfortable with her, and I truly believe that helped him understand what was happening. She was incredibly professional, but I'll never forget one small moment. Out of the corner of my eye, while I was saying my final words and paying my last tributes to my girl, I saw her quietly wiping tears from her eyes. As a healthcare provider myself, I know how often we're expected to wear a mask and stay composed. Seeing that genuine emotion didn't make her seem less professional, it reassured me that she truly cared. In those final moments, your mind races. You question whether you're making the right decision. Seeing her emotion gave me peace because I knew she wasn't simply going through the motions.
